The late, great Ronald Reagan once said “that if we ever stop being one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under!” Take a good look around you at American society, not as Democrats or Republicans, but as the citizens of a nation blessed above all others in history. Why have we suddenly found ourselves, with the mightiest military in world history, mired in little wars that we can’t seem to outright win? Why do we see so much corruption in government, business, and our public and private lives? Why do we insist on “tolerating” out-and-out SIN while trying to make excuses for it as some kind of disease or syndrome? We think nothing of watching our God-given sacraments perverted beyond all reason? Gay marriage, anyone? We are celebrating the homosexual lifestyle that God, Himself, calls an abomination…why? We have allowed atheists, people who do not even believe in God, to remove Him from our schools and from our public discourse. We have allowed these people, through social activist courts, to try and eradicate our Creator from our view. This very Creator was paid homage to by our founding fathers in the documents and buildings that helped found this country and sustain her through all her trials and challenges to become the wealthiest and most generous place on earth……until now.
We, as rational, reasonable citizens have allowed the blatant murder of 50 MILLION plus of our unborn children just because there are some women who don’t want the responsibility of bringing another life into this world? This core argument is “well, we don’t really know when life begins.” Really? I can show you people in their 60′s whose life hasn’t begun yet, so should we terminate them? Seriously, ask a farmer when he thinks a seed begins to germinate…..the moment it is placed in the ground. We have allowed the destruction of one of the greatest ongoing gifts that God has given us……our children. Our children make us immortal in the sense that they carry on our seed to eternity. We even have stooped to the point that our government wants those of us who don’t believe in abortion to pay for it, all in the name of “social justice”.
The biggest culprits of our cultural decline are our churches. All claim to be the “bearers of Christ’s name”; yet they ordain unbelievers and those who preach exactly the opposite of what Christ Himself preaches. There should be a loud and constant cry by the preachers of this country against abortion, homosexuallity, sexual permissiveness, and the falling away of the supposed believers in this great country. The preachers of today seem to be more concerned about how big they can build their churches instead of how many souls they can reach. Most megachurches are nothing more than monuments to the men and women who built them. Quantity does NOT outweigh quality in God’s kingdom. The church is supposed to be a LIVING body, not a cold stone-and-steel building.
American preachers love preaching the “prosperity gospel”, usually downplaying the “repent and be obedient” portion of it. The more prosperous their flock becomes, the more properous they become…..simple! The preachers forget something though…..most ordinary people not called to be able to handle that wealth soon find themselves in worse shape then before they became wealthy. Just take a look at the majority of lottery winners across America. Does the government put a lock on your lips, preacher, because you are more concerned about the feds messing with your tax status, or is the mission of speaking God’s truth more important?
I remember the media ridiculing Pat Robertson when he said that the events of 9/11 were the beginning of God’s judgement on America for what we have allowed to happen to date. Mr. Robertson was scorned and laughed at, but then the following events proved to be just as devastating. Maybe it’s time that believers in this country stop laughing at what they are secretly afraid of…..knowing God IS watching and really does have His hand in humanity’s business. If you think that I’ve slipped a cog, I ask you to do two things for me and yourself. Look around at how ungodly this world has become and the speed at which it is getting worse, and go pick up a copy of Jonathon Cahn’s book “Harbringer”. Read the book, check out the facts in that book, and then write me back and tell me I’m wrong.
By the way, I read that book after I had already outlined this column, and it rocked me back. America truly needs to get on her collective knees and seek repentance and a new commitment to the Creator who gave us this country and has sustained us until now. No civilization is too big to fall without Him. You have a choice to stand on your feet and give God His due, or live on your knees as a slave to the world’s system…..your choice! Remember, time is short and getting shorter.

What a wonderful article! Great to see somebody has the moxie to come out and tell it like it is. Even Abraham Lincoln, in the midst of the Civil War in 1863, called for a National Day of Prayer and Fasting. Sounds old fashioned and trite, doesn’t it? But he came flat out and said that “we have forgotten God”! This was 150 years ago, and somebody saw this happening already. How long do you think God is willing to put up with this crap before He gets in there and chastens His children? You are seeing it now …
This article is so true…it is why I quit going to church several years ago….the chuches have all changed that is why there are over 3000 different chuches in this country today…none beleive the same……often wonder what part of the book they cannot understand……have read it from cover to cover many times and find things that are different in the new Test. like the first four books, all saw different at the tomb and Acts differ from the one of the first four where is said that Judas hung himself and Peter said he fell down a hill and disembowled him self.,….but one must remember some words in Greek are not in the same in english…..
Sorry you decided to quit church. As Certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church I can tell you my church does not ordain homosexuals. Nor do our pastors perform same sex marriages, There are perhaps a few ministers who break the rules……watch out though if they get caught. My local church, however, would welcome lesbian and gay members. You puzzle me though. The first four books of the New Testament were written by four different people. Of course they would see things differently. No computers, no telephones or even telegraph lines in those days. Stories were passed down word of mouth. Come back to church. God loves you. I love you.
Believe me when I say, Christianity and the fight against Homosexuality and perversion are the ‘killer’ topics our fight for survival. Barack Hussein Obama, is a self-confessed drug-addicted homosexual. Therefore that is his top priority, not getting the economy moving or people back to work. This is a real fight between Good and evil. I have faith in real Christians and Christianity. We are used to a hard fight, but we ALWAYS win – Right over Might!
Since before Obama was President the Tea Party began waking up – or the movement that began came together via the net. If you remember the first thing out of our mouths after “what has happened to my America” was the appology that we had apathetically allowed ourselves to be “cursory Christians” – our naivete believing that after sending good peope to Congress that they would do their job in passionate patriotism (in our stead) and for truth, we are even guilty of citing the constitution without being aware of what it actually said – unless one was a history buff to begin with – which most of us were not, nor were we politically active. Every single thing you noted in your post was the absolute and undiluted truth.
All the excuses at this late date don’t matter at all. Unless we the people bind together in a new and passionate resolve to be what WE used to be, never will our America be what she used to be. We went to church and took care of those who needed a helping hand to get back on their feet. We worked hard, and raised our children to be good honest people. We gave respect to our flag and our soldiers who gave everything they had for our freedom. We have given it away without so much as a You’re Welcome. For evil to flourish, all it takes is good men do nothing. That’s exactly what we did…nothing. The reason we came together didn’t happen because of color, political party, or church afiliation. The Tea Party works because those things don’t matter – what matters is because right is right and wrong is wrong and we want that back. We want evil to have to go somewhere else to flourish. As heavy as the guilt is that we are getting what we deserve, is the fervent belief that the people of this Country are still basically good people who are prepared to take up where we left off and bring God, our USA and our government back into the confines of the constitution. God and the constitution gave us unalianable rights and nobody can take them. They are the reason why there is nothing on this earth as good as the USA. What was made before by the people can again be made by the people. They can make all the wrong laws they want to make, but when they try to take our means whereby we can defend ourselves, which is what they must have for their brand of government to be complete, we will work together, we will chastise our churches, we will band into a unified front to defeat the wrong – to undo what we have made. We will do it peaceably and make the changes by vote. I don’t believe it is too late. And more, I don’t believe we ask of our soldiers what we are not prepared to give of ourselves to make freedom a truth again – I don’t hear them say we are too few – I don’t hear them say that America is dead. I don’t hear the voice of evil tell me that I can’t try. We have already accomplished so much. In time, we will accomplish more. The reason we will prevail is because like the soldier, we don’t do this for us, but so that our children will have the America of freedom.
Perhaps there was a bit of truth to o’s words stating that America is no longer a Christian nation…HHHHm
