Sarah Palin met Donald Trump for dinner Tuesday night, and the US news media may never be the same. From the amount of coverage it got, you’d have thought FDR and Winston Churchill were having pizza in New York to discuss Allied coordination for World War II.
OK, we’ll bite: What did they talk about, anyway? A Palin-Trump ticket? “That sounds exciting! Sounds unconventional!” said the former Alaska governor when asked that question by an onlooker.
There are lots of reasons a Palin-Trump presidential bid might make crazy sense, if you know what we mean. We’ve written about that before.
But you don’t negotiate a deal like that while TV crews fog up the windows of Famous Famiglia Pizzeria and you munch on a pie with pepperoni and sausage. No, the actual words that passed between Ms. Palin and Mr. Trump in this encounter weren’t that important. What was important, particularly for Palin, was the image. She almost certainly just wanted this confab to be seen to have occurred.
Why? Palin wants Trump voters. Or ex-Trump voters, since The Donald says he’s not running. And she wants to associate herself with one of the few people on the planet who is better at getting attention than she is.

It is irrational to think that any single payer social program will work. It is irrational for nations to tax its way out of poverty. It is irrational to help overpopulated poorer nations by becoming one. It is irrational to believe that a power convinced that you have nowhere else to go will do your biding.
A true Conservative and a true Liberal agree on one thing though for different reasons. Any single payer social program is a nutty idea! Now each believes that it’s not so nutty as long as their side is managing it. Pubs and Dems call rational people cruel, heartless nut cases. Rational and irrational also no longer hold true meaning.

Trump is nothing more than a rich city gossip. He recently met with Dr. Jerome R. Corse to try to smoke him out re his new best selling book, "Where's the Birth Certificate" — which is still a mystery. I conclude that Trump is a toadie of the Obama Administration looking for dirt he can pass on to his cronies in exchange for a favor. In his monetary greed of self over country, he may even run as an independent that would almost certainly assure the reelection of Obama.

I would really like to see a Trump, Palin ticket, or a Trump, Buchanon ticket, or a Buchanon, Palin ticket. Next would be Cain in place of Trump. We have got to pick people with guts to stand up to the Damn Democrats. Romney, & none of the others who have decided to run, have any guts. You can bet the Republican National Committee, & the Media will back one of the wimps instead.
