Western Journalism Raffles Off Candidates At CPAC 2012

Portraits of the candidates, that is.

At CPAC this year, we wanted to bring something special so we could connect with our readers. So we commissioned Kathryn Brown of Pure Pencil to draw hand drawn pencil portraits of the four Republican candidates still in the running. At CPAC, people could sign up to enter a raffle to win their favorite candidate (for free.) We had a great time with this and this raffle allowed us to meet some great conservatives and quite a few of our readers. It’s always exciting to meet some of the people who support us every day by reading our newsletter and by donating to our projects.

Here are some of the beautiful hand drawn pencil portraits that Kathryn drew for us.

  1. What fantastic work! Best? Mitt Romney, Second place goes to Ron Paul, Third to Newt, and a poor fourth to Rick Santorum….I think she missed here completely. I don’t feel I am looking at Rick at all. The eyes are wrong. She has lost some of the ‘pixie’ from Newt and given him a little too much ‘bull dog’ look, but the other two, especially Romney, are fantastic. Wish I could do half as well, though.

  2. All four are superbly drafted.

I take particular note that of the four Republican aspirants for the nomination, only Dr. Paul’s portrait is drawn with him looking directly into the eyes of the viewer. The rest of ‘em are simply gazing off into the distance, Stalin-style.

Critically important as a reflection of Ron Paul’s character, isn’t it?

  3. Avatar of CrystalBalls says:

“Western Journalism Raffles Off Candidates At CPAC 2012″ Excellent headline. I always though conservative candidates were for sale, but I didn’t know the Western Center for Pseudo Journalism agreed.

  4. http://www.petition2congress.c… Go to this website and sign the petition to investigate the eligibility of obama. We need him off the ballot and arrested for fraud.
