agree with you. I don’t think the temperature get’s to 136 either. Our Military men and women are in super high temperatures carrying a lot of weight on their backs. Why do criminals think they should be treated to the best. You don’t like Tent City ? Don’t commit crimes and you won’t be there. If your illegal stay home in your own Country.

Most of you won’t have to even pay back the person you stole from or the money you cost the courts to prosecute your low life self because you aren’t responsible enough to earn a living probably or we would have to continue feeding you because you can’t earn enough to do both.

If you do not like tent city then DO NOT get arrested. Wah wah wah boo hoo hoo.Except the responsibility that YOU are the reason YOU are there. DEAL WITH IT!!! The inmates are a bunch of Cry babies! If they want to continue their life of crime they should move out of Arizona! People who are guilty of committing crimes should not have the right to have the comforts of home. As Joe stated outr fighting troops are giong through worse conditions plus they are carrying heavy equipment on their backs.If every one of our prisons wre run lie Joe’s you can bet the crime rate would drop. I have met a couple of people who are willing to spend the time for the crime they commited. That is why they have a long rap sheet. It boggles my mind to see a report i=on TV where an ILLEGAL has been arrested MULTIPLE times and is still living here committing crimes. Our jails and prisons are better and have better conditions than where he was living in his native country.

ALL prisons should be torn down and ALL prisoners should be treated LIKE prisoners. Not like guests of the hardworking taxpayers.
I like the striped uniforms and they should be put back out on the street like they were when I was growing up doing work on the highways, cleaning up trash, etc.. Guards with rifles poised and ready. Chains on their ankles. That is why the prison population was not overflowing back then. Today, prison is a paid vacation for the majority of them. That is why they don’t learn any lesson.
Just watch on T.V. shows coming from prisons and see what the guards have to put up with. The violent uncontrolable criminals who have nothing all their worthless lives do not deserve to be fed and housed by the people. It should not take 13 years for them to pay for their crimes either.
Yes, if they did it right there would be less crime. Years ago a Prison warden was filmed welcoming the new inmates to prison. He said right out you are not here to be rehabilitated, you are here to be punished. All society owe’s you is a place to (in his words) eat, crap and sleep and that is all you will get. It showed the cell with a concret bed, thin pad, toilet and that is where they lived. They ate what was put on their plate, no choice like a cafeteria. They stopped that and now have more crime and repeat offenders.

BOO FREAKIN’ HOO! Our Soldiers (who are willing to DIE for our Country) live in the SAME tents – in weather conditions as bad or WORSE than you have it – in FULL uniform – often with full battle gear – and most of the time they DON’T have the liberty to just sit on their a$$ and do NOTHING!
“Tent City” was established in 1993 when many of the inmates were barely out of diapers! It has been publicized BROADLY ever since – YOU KNEW IT WAS THERE AND YOU’D GO THERE IF YOU BROKE THE LAW!
In the Labor Market (that many [most] of you know little about by personal experience) if you sign on to shovel manure, you CANNOT bring any sort of action “because it stinks”! That was a “PREEXISTING CONDITION” that you WERE AWARE OF when you signed on!
BUCK UP AND KEEP YOUR NOSE CLEAN when you get out and you WON’T HAVE TO GO BACK!
Maybe Sheriff Joe could install a big-screen TV or two on a guard towers and play and replay the show “Locked up Abroad” – ESPECIALLY those episodes about jails south of the Border. You’d see that your accommodations are the Hilton Hotel compared to some of those Hellholes!
So what did they expect? A Hilton Hotel to be their prison? I say put them on the chain gang like in the olden days….let them see that the tax payer’s money is not for a paid vacation. We work like hell to get time away to go on vacation…should they get one because they committed a crime and “we owe them?” Hell no.
My son spent a year in Iraq and now will go to Afghanistan soon. The temps in Iraq were unbvearable too. and they had all their gear on. You don’t like the conditions in the tent city…don’t be a criminal.
And before some Libitard bleeding-heart spouts the hackneyed cliche “You wouldn’t want to be treated this way!” I will answer it in the strongest terms possible: “NO! NO! and HELL NO!” SO, I am taking steps to see that I never am, namely, “I’M OBEYING THE LAW!”
Prison is a place of rehabilitation. You don’t get rehabilitated with care and concern, you get rehabilitated with learning what happens when you don’t follow rules. Television and radio is, as far as I am concerned, a privilege that should not be extended to prison other than education, and air conditioning or other comfort is not essential unless it is life threatening not to have it.
The fact that criminals who have served time in tent city do not return through the justice system speaks volumes, when compared to other cities where criminals have been known to break the law in order to return to prison.
The inmates seem to be happy with all the smiling and laughing. I could see if they were lying around moaning and sweating and delirious. Otherwise they have no reason to complain. And doesn’t Arizona get cold or cool at night?
We need more like Sheriff Joe!!!! Keep it up Sheriff, Don’t feel sorry for them one bit….I guess they are laughing and having a good time because they think these bleeding heart libtards will get everything taken care of for them…….Ummm… waiting for Eric Holder to (over)step in….
