Seven people were arrested in an incident in Cincinnati on Saturday – Independence Day – that left a man bloodied and unconscious. One of two videos shows multiple people shouting a familiar line from a 1990s ‘stoner’ movie in the victim’s face.
The first video (seen below) shows Christopher McKnight, 27, being beaten as a crowd surrounds him near a hip-hop concert in Queen City’s renowned Fountain Square, CBS News reported.

A second video (the featured video at the very top) shows McKnight unconscious and on the ground surrounded by several people, many of them shouting “You got knocked the f–k out!” That line is taken from the 1995 film Friday (FILM SPOILER ALERT); a character named Smokey (Chris Tucker) says, “You got knocked the f–k out, man!” to Deebo (Tom Lister, Jr.) after he is defeated in a fight by Craig (Ice Cube).

“It was not good what happened this weekend,” Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell said. “Certainly not good from an optics standpoint, as well as the realism of an innocent individual being beaten up like that.”

An initial police report labeled the incident an “anti-white” hate crime because McKnight was white, and the alleged assailants are black. But Cincinnati Police Captain Mike Neville clarified the report and said it will not go forward as a hate crime. “Right now, I don’t have reason to label that as a hate crime. It is an ongoing investigation. I would tell you preliminary speaking, that report was incorrect,” he said.
Among the arrested was Jy Quynn Britten, who allegedly assaulted a police officer in the face. McKnight was hospitalized Saturday with a broken nose and a concussion, and released on Monday.
