  2. I copied an excerpt from the book: CAN MITT ROMNEY SERVE TWO MASTERS, which has a complete documented record of Romney’s business and leadership performance and brings all of his skeletons out of his closet for public view (I don’t think the author Tricia Erickson will mind).

Everyone needs to get this book because Part II has all of our homework done for us on Romney:

Not all ventures helped the companies and their employees however. Romney’s team purchased a stake in DDi Corporation in 1997. In 2000 Bain Capital took the company public reaping a cool $36 million in profit. Romney sold his shares for $4.1 million. Soon after, however, DDi saw its stock plummet and eventually filed for bankruptcy in 2003, where 2100 workers lost their jobs. (LA Times, Bob Drogin)

Bain and DDi eventually settled a class action lawsuit that awarded $4.4 million to shareholders. (Romney was not named in the suit). According to the Los Angeles Times, the suit “argued that DDi was poorly managed and ‘hemorrhaging cash’ before the stock offering, court records show.”(LA Times, Bob Drogin)
