A 17-year veteran firefighter in Washington recently lost his job because of an email he sent to some of his colleagues. The correspondence did not advocate any illegal activity; rather, he was just updating fellow members of the Christian Firefighter Fellowship he founded about two years ago.
The department’s chief said the captain was let go because the email violated agency policy concerning using his government email account to send religious messages.
“We’ve had no complaints,” the axed firefighter said, explaining the email “hasn’t disrespected the department” and was only sent to other members of the CFF.
He said he plans to appeal his termination, claiming that the content of his email is protected speech. Having “never been disciplined in the past,” he said the entire ordeal “seems to revolve around just those emails and the Christian content.”
His former chief stated that the firefighter was free to “stand at the station” and “hand out flyers, we don’t have a problem with that.” He just can’t use department-funded systems to do what he wanted to do.
According to reports, department administrators told the firefighter to stop sending the emails, claiming his subsequent insubordination was responsible for the decision to fire him.
Though he didn’t deny he disagrees with the agency’s policy, the firefighter said he never forced his views on anyone, contending the email’s “content has not violated a single rule of this department.”
Despite the obvious setback, he continues to stand strong in his faith.
“God will provide a job somewhere,” he said. “If I didn’t trust Him, I wouldn’t have gone this far.”
It is extremely distressing to see employers in a nation based on religious liberty and Judeo-Christian values discipline otherwise satisfactory employees purely because of their religious beliefs.
As looming ObamaCare legislation threatens to force Christians across the nation to support abortion with their confiscated tax dollars, health care providers opposed to the practice might well face termination for failing to endorse it.
The further this country travels down this anti-Christian path, the closer we get to the rampant persecution against religious employees in Europe. The left seems to think that Christian conservatives are an easy target and, quite honestly, we have been for many years. It’s time to stand up for our religious freedom and, as this firefighter did, refuse to roll over when bullies try to take it away.

The firefighters need to that the Chief out back and give him a good long talking to. An atitude adjustment is in order.

This is happening to our Armed Forces men and women and law enforcement officers that are decorated! They are imprisoned! Now persecution with our firefighters. Christianity will prevail over the Muslim religion (?). Why has no government office stood up for these people on behalf of ‘We the people?’ I will tell you why…it is not political, it is an issue of morality totally lacking in both the Dems and Repbl. parties and a fear of them literally being killed by the Muslims in the administration.

Because, “We the people” didn’t respond in outrage when they took away our National Day of Prayer and substituted it with a week of honoring the goddess Gaia, otherwise known as “Mother Earth”. Google “Gaia” and you’ll find out what I am talking about.
Any “Christian” who celebrates Earth day by planting trees or some other ‘ritual or sacrifice’ to Gaia on earth day or during the week in which it is celebrated actually performs worship to her, whether they will acknowledge it or not.
Now, “We the People” have been transferred from Judeo Christian based government to a New Age/Pagan government where all forms of religion are acceptable except for Christianity because Christianity is the only religion or “faith” that recognizes Jesus Christ as being the Creator and the Son of God.
Christians didn’t rise up when they did that. Instead, you have a lot of Churches practicing this new form of worship. Is it any wonder that they see that as a signal that Christians are weak and are ready for takeover of their freedoms and rights?
To make matters worse, when you try to point this out to “Christians” who are environmentalists, they will get angry at you because they don’t want to hear the truth. However, God’s Word warns what will happen to those that worship the creation rather than the Creator. Rom. chapter 1. And His Word also says that when they are judged for it, they will be without excuse. Then God states what that judgement is.
Isn’t that the truth !
Obama has ramadam big dinners for the top imans in the white house every year. They let them go in our public schools and teach the kids about islam being wonderful and peaceful. Where are the American people. Hopefully at the polls in November getting the fraud out.
If he wre a muslim or an athiest sending messages about allah or anti christian literature then I guarantee they would never have said a word to him. I think you should sue.
I think we must be careful here. Our constitution guaranties separation of church and state. While each citizen is allowed to practice their own religion, they must do so with their own equipment, email, and time. This should be applied for any activity that is not work related. As far as the Dem, and Rep parties are concerned they have no business or right to determine a national religion. That violates the separation of church and state clause. The article says he was warned several times and did not stop. I am a christian however I do not want the government or any employer to have any right to the religion I follow. Lets keep separation of church and state. It is one of the protections against oppression.
Yes sir, you;re right. Just go into any government office from Washington, DC down and watch the employees playing cards, doing ebay or better yet doing porn. But, better not mention anything like Christian programs of materials and you are fired. As someone said, if it is any other religion, it’s OK. God help us the American people who believe in our freedoms, we can choose the religion we want to be associated, we can salute our flag, say the pledge but if we are stuck with Obama again we are all going to be forced into the Muslim nation Obama wants us to be. 46 year Fireman I have never prayed to ALLAH!. I did thank God after each fire for getting us through! . I am not a real religous man but somehow after all the years and most of them as a Captain. I have never lost a Fireman and other than a few blisters nobody was hurt! As far as I am concerned it was the most dangerous occupation there is. I was a Viet Nam Veteran. I did get shot up. But as a fireman I worried more about the Men and Ladies that served under me as a Fire Person! I did not get my Fire retirement because of a annerism. I was old enough to retire but did not because I believed in what we were doing. Emanual took my retirement. I lost my kidneys when I was 29 years old. They gave me 5 years to live. I never had insurance since then. I am 71 years old today and believe they are screwing this poor soul!

No more National Day of Prayer…we might ‘offend’ someone who is not a part of the ‘claimed’ 85% ‘Christians’ in America!! ‘Seperation of Church and State’??? THIS is NOT what the Founding Fathers had in mind…it was to protect US from the INTRUSION of TOO MUCH CONTROL by the Govt. They’ve got it all backwards!! This is going beyond even being close to ‘Constitutional’. It’s warped and what was up is now down!! If Christians don’t start developing a ‘spine’ there will soon BE no United States of America!!
