WASHINGTON — Union leaders are rolling out a 14-city campaign to mobilize support for President Barack Obama’s immigration overhaul plans.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka says the labor federation will hold rallies, educate voters and pressure elected officials using the same grass-roots infrastructure that helped re-elect Obama.

The campaign began Wednesday in Raleigh, N.C., and will continue Monday in Las Vegas.

Trumka says labor and business leaders also continue to work out an agreement on revising the nation’s guest worker program that allows businesses to hire foreign workers for seasonal employment.

  1. This really makes a lot of sense? Hard working American workers pay union dues so their leaders can legitimitize illegals who in turn will takes jobs away from americans. Talk about ponzi schemes!

  2. Where do we go to get a job !??!!?!?!? I would like to know what you people drink and eat during the day…because right about now I think all of you are on paint fumes and out of your stupid minds !!
Send them back home. Our ancesters HAD a job when they got over here !! Send them back ! When they get a sponser for a job they can come back !!!!

  3. The Unions are hard up for cash now… since a lot of places wont allow unions to form. The unions outta be ashamed of them selves.. after retiring and getting sweetheart healthcare and even sweeter retirement money.

  4. Three (3) times Barack submitted his ‘Dream Act’ to Congress.
Three (3) times they voted it down. And ended up passing a more stringent bill.
The President, whose ONLY authority is to implement programs legislated by Congress, unConstitutionally instructed those in pertinent departments to NOT follow the new law but to, instead, implement the ‘Dream Act’ instead.
(impeachable offense if Congress wished to abide by the Constitution….which Congress obviously doesn’t)

    DREAM ACT:
–amnesty given to those brought into country illegally before their 16th birthday
–up to age 35, all you have to do is claim the above (no proof required)
–once forgiven for being here illegally, they can now sponsor their illegal parents
–no proof required that they or their parents aren’t felons
–college/military not necessary / only have to promise to do one or the other later….within 6 yrs.
–wah-lah: they can now stay here and get student loans, work-study grants and other financial benefits.

    So….these unions are applauding Barack’s anti-Constitutional / despot-wannabe insult (s).

    Oh….one last thing.
The federal government has NO immigration authority / it’s a STATE’s right. (as it should be)
