Is this the case that will break the presidential eligibility question wide open?
The Supreme Court conferred today on whether arguments should be heard on the merits of Kerchner v. Obama, a case challenging whether President Barack Obama is qualified to serve as president because he may not be a “natural-born citizen” as required by Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution.
Unlike other eligibility cases that have reached the Supreme Court, Kerchner vs. Obama focuses on the “Vattel theory,” which argues that the writers of the Constitution believed the term “natural-born citizen” to mean a person born in the United States to parents who were both American citizens.
“This case is unprecedented,” said Mario Apuzzo, the attorney bringing the suit. “I believe we presented an ironclad case. We’ve shown standing, and we’ve shown the importance of the issue for the Supreme Court. There’s nothing standing in their way to grant us a writ of certiorari.”
If the Supreme Court decides to grant the “writ of certiorari,” it may direct a federal trial court in New Jersey to hear the merits of the case, or it may choose to hear the merits itself. The court’s decision on the writ could be announced as early as Wednesday.

Absent any credible likelihood that our reigning Poseur-in-Chief can produce even a semblance of independently verifiable credentials, both these codswallops of avoirdupois will have to find employment elsewhere. Mayhap the New York City subway could use token-takers.
John Blake thanks for your comments. Indeed Kagan covered for Obama by putting the cases aside and not giving due attention to them because I think she was promised a spot at the Supreme Court. She did indeed purposely tried to ignore those cases thinking maybe the cases will just disappear just like what happened to the time Hillary Clinton lost those records that were later on found but too late to deal with them. I was thinking that Obama could have gotten away with some of the sins he committed had he not been too greedy to abruptly seize wealth and power. Perhaps some people could have given him a chance and said: "Oh, he is new. Let's give him a chance." But I am glad he was too greedy so that most have seen what a usurper he really was ! Once he got power, he was too overwhelmed and just took advantage of the people's trust and he never looked back. I have questioned for some time as to why the media, especially FOX, CNN and such have been too
quiet on the issue of Obama’s being eligible to be our president. I think they have all been told to
not discuss the issue. I was a big fan of Bill O’Reilly, but when he said he “Did not have the time to
research Obama’s birth,” he lost me. Just what is he and his staff being paid to do? I am a little ole
great grandmother without tons of computer skills, but I have found plenty that satisfy me that he was
born in the UK colony, later called Kenya. I pulled up his birth certificate from there only last week.
Kenya has billboards and historic marker’s everyplace that announce “their son” is our president. It
is all so, less than stupid. He and Michelle have stated he was born there, in the announcement of his being the first Negro to be head of the Harvard Law Review, it states he is from Kenya, I pulled this up
recently. The magazine or magazine type newpaper interviewing him for senator for Ilinois states he
was born in Kenya, and he said he was not running for president (at that time), and to the point that
one did not have the same requirements to run for senator as for President of this United States. This
situation must be corrected.

The one Obama has posted for his father's race they said African American, in 1961 was that used or did they use something else. Did each state do it differently? When you request a copy of your BC today do they use today's terms when you get a copy or do they use the terms that where used in the year you where born?

The courts have decided that ordinary citizens have suffered no injury by the fact that an ineligible person has been elected as president. I feel that the fact he was allowed to run is an offense against every legal United States citizen.

Come on Dec. 14th and show Lt. Col Lakin your support. Only a few people have attended the open to the public hearings so far. The Press is no longer interested in the case. This might be the last chance before he is sent to prison for up to 4 years. This is history no matter if you are for or against him. But should he be allowed to provide any reasons why or he went to high up the chain of command and lost that ability.
I take by you comment that you have never been in the service. While I was there they taught us that if we believed the orders were illegal we were not to obey them. I kept reading blogs with the talk of revolution & it's a sign of bad times when there is even the slightest question of the presidency as we now have. Another crack in the pillars of our civilization, but it needs to be done by the Supreme Court & not some lower federal judge picked by politicians.

Under the theory that allowed Obama to run on the Socialist ticket (D) any illegal alien who sneaks across the boarder and has a baby has produced a person who potentially eligible to run for president of the United States. The founders were clearly more intelligent and careful to allow that kind of a liability to our national security to be embedded in the Constitution. The problem of course is those who backed Obama's candidacy knew he was unqualified in more ways than just citizenship. Pundits, media, politicians and jurists of all persuasions and covering the full gambit of motivations are either simply too scared to deal with this potentially explosive issue, politically disinclined to objectively deal with it, or simply historically and constitutionally clueless. SCOTUS should do the founders and the country a favor and hear the case. Constitutional order is at stake.

This is an unconscionable abdication of judicial responsibility over an issue that has Constitutional ramifications. The Court has used one feeble excuse after another to avoid making a decision on this question, which is clearly within their scope. In the face of every other avenue for relief being denied to a substantial number of people, it's shocking that SCOTUS continues to use flimsy procedural grounds to prevent the question of presidential eligibility from being properly addressed. Alas, the Supreme Court, the People's last, best hope for fair and just treatment, has failed us, too.
