WASHINGTON – After a couple of false starts, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved a bill Thursday that would ban assault weapons, restrict the size of ammunition clips and require universal background checks on gun sales.
But in spite of passionate pleas by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the bill’s sponsor, it heads to the Senate floor with no Republican support, and it may not have the backing of every Democrat. The Republican-led House of is all but certain to reject it.
“As I’ve said before, the road is uphill,” Feinstein said Thursday, after her bill cleared the panel on a party-line vote of 10-8.
She was the lead sponsor of the original assault weapons ban Congress passed in 1994 but didn’t renew 10 years later for lack of support. The political landscape has changed since then, as has the degree of public shock over recent mass shootings, including one in December that left 20 Connecticut elementary school children dead, and another more than two years ago that gravely injured former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
But even that might not be enough to get restrictions on the use of assault weapons.

Traitors! Oath violators!
The tyrants are getting ready for the collapse that they’ve deliberately created as an excuse to try to grab total control. It won’t work. The growing push towards resistance is not constrained to the fringes – the first mistake the tyrants in DC make is to assume that.
Practically every militarily significant weapon made in the last 100 years has sold. 4.6 million weapon sales in 30 days and empty ammo shelves is not a panic – it’s battlespace preparation.
The second mistake they make is to try to assert that this trend is about racism because Obama is half-black. That’s a cop-out used to demonize – It’s an easy excuse to ignore another person’s points, and justify doing bad things to them; it’s an attempt to convince people that those who oppose the regime’s policies and actions are evil or deranged.
Their final mistake is to assume that the military and law enforcement agencies will follow orders to disarm their fellow Americans. The military and police are a sub-section of the total population, and will break along the same ideological lines.
Some police and military members will follow orders. Many, probably most, will disobey, desert, and rebel against orders to attack, imprison, or murder their families, neighbors, and fellow patriots to prop up a corrupt and tyrannical regime.
This has been played out time and time again in human history.
Statist politicians should not assume an insurrection will end easily, nor that those they’ve demonized will go quietly into the dark night, nor that they personally will not suffer if it blows up.
Never let your government disarm you and render you defenseless against their excesses.
Exactly! Everything you have written will happen when the Tratiors and Oath Violators begin their war on U.S. Citizens.
Not to worry about whether the local police or military following orders. Obama and Hilary have been supporting the UN small arms treaty by which gives the UN the authority to confiscate even on American soil, by which the news media is almost completely silent about these days.
You can go to the UN websites and read all the proposals in the treaty. According to Obama and Hillary, they wouldn’t have to go through congress to seek a total confiscation if it was carried out under the UN treaties.
The sad thing is that she thinks she is coherent, wise, and speaking for the majority of the US citizens………………
Feinstein is Jewish! You would wonder after what happened in the Holocaust why she believes that unarming American citizens could not happen to us unless she is ‘one of them’ that is willing to sell her soul to gain more power.
Easy. She is now on the side collecting authority, and believes she is wiser than the citizens. The vast majority of the 535 have sold their souls and mortgaged their futures to the NWO. They know they will be safe and protected, and well provided-for as long as they vote the right way.

In this spirit it may be remarked that the equal vote allowed to each State is at once a
constitutional recognition of the portion of sovereignty remaining in the individual States
and an instrument for preserving that residuary sovereignty. So far the equality ought to be
no less acceptable to the large than to the small States; since they are not less solicitous to
guard, by every possible expedient, against an improper consolidation of the States into
one simple republic.
Another advantage accruing from this ingredient in the constitution of the Senate is the
additional impediment it must prove against improper acts of legislation. No law or
resolution can now be passed without the concurrence, first, of a majority of the people,
and then of a majority of the States.

the facility and excess of lawmaking seem to be the diseases to which our governments are
most liable

In the legislature, promptitude of decision is oftener an evil than a benefit. The differences
of opinion, and the jarring of parties in that department of the government, though they
may sometimes obstruct salutary plans, yet often promote deliberation and circumspection,
and serve to check excesses in the majority.

Frankenstein helped to ruin her state and now she wants to help ruin America. I am sick to death of liberals trashing our country with their idiotic legislation. You can bet that our leaders won’t be unarmed. There’s going to be civil war if they try to confiscate weapons. The American people aren’t going to put up with a bunch of trashy Marxists taking our guns. They can all go to hell.
But confiscation is already taking place in California, Sam. Some other states are less cooperative, but ultimately, that is the goal. And what if fifteen or twenty states don’t knuckle under to the Federal Disarmament mandates? They’ll lose federal funding for highways, etc. They’ll give in when their belts get tight enough. Then there will be only three or four states that could possibly survive. Texas may be the only hold out big and strong enough to make it alone.
It will never pass,it’s just another distraction attempt by obozo and company is all it is.There will be no baning at all.By the way obviously they and others have no idea as to just what makes and assault weapon just that.It has to have full auto mode to be considered an assault weapon and their only sold in the semi-auto modes and in that capacity they no longer are assault weapons,Just a fancy looking.223 varmint rifle, also great for deer hunting as well.I have 4 diferent models of the ar and I use them all for various things, mostly target shooting and one I use for hunting at times, but they are not assault weapons unless they can fire on full auto
