Do the Republicans actually think that catering towards any form of amnesty, even if any of the proposed laws have parameters that sound tough on illegal immigrants towards their “path to eventual citizenship,” will bring them the eventual support they need in the future to acquire positions in the halls of Congress? Or leadership in the White House? Really?
There was an interesting piece on the Mark Levin show on Monday where Levin pointed out that administrations and presidential races from 1980 to 2012 have never been in favor of Republicans when it comes to amnesty. No matter what happens, whether an immigrant breaks the law and comes across the border illegally, or if they obey the law and go through the true path to citizenship that every immigrant should, most of them will always vote for the Democratic Party. Let’s take a moment and go through the different administrations and races and see if the Hispanic votes ever leaned in the direction of the Republicans, even when they did favor a form of amnesty.
Number one: In 1980, President Jimmy Carter received 56% of the Hispanic vote; Ronald Reagan only received 35% of the vote.
Number Two: In 1984, when President Reagan said he supported amnesty, the President received only 37% of the Hispanic vote – a 2% increase from his previous run – and the Democratic contender Walter Mondale had received a whopping 61%. It’s also interesting to note that Reagan won both elections with massive landslides.
Number Three: In 1988, Michael Dukakis received 69% of the Hispanic vote; and George H. W. Bush only received 30% of the Hispanic vote. It is important to keep in mind that Bush was Ronald Reagan’s Vice President when Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which Reagan later admitted was his biggest mistake. Does anyone remember who won that election?
Number Four: In the 2000 election, Vice President Al Gore received 62% of the Hispanic vote; and George W. Bush only received 35%. Bush had received only 5% more in Hispanic votes in the 2004 election and still won. Any form of amnesty doesn’t work in anyone’s favor. A child is never going to respect their parents if they are given everything they want. When a child who had well-rounded parents who loved them unconditionally (yet instilled real discipline) grows up, they usually look back on their parents with respect and admiration. This may not always be the case, but usually it is. The point is that when the Jindals of the Republican Party start touting their horn about “working to be accepting in the eyes of minorities and new immigrants,” they need to be ignored because their sad and annoying words don’t win elections.

Republicans are gonna love this! I am a white, male, 64 yr old, conservative, pro-life, cradle Catholic, independent. I have never voted for a Democrat and never will. Even pro-life Democrats cannot withstand the pressure and intimidation cast upon them by their party, platform, and leadership.
Educated in Catholic schools through the 12 th grade, I have been surrounded by whites, blacks, browns, yellows and reds from early on. That was followed up by 21 years in the U.S. Navy again surrounded by whites, blacks, browns, reds and yellows.
Every one of these human beings puts their pants or skirts on one leg at a time. Every one of them enjoys food, drink, family, sex and freedom.
Immigration is a problem today because our immigration laws are screwed up and enforcement has been on the back burner for decades.
I propose a new immigration program. Under this new program, if you are an illegal alien in this country, get up Monday morning and go directly to the county courthouse where you reside, fill out the necessary paperwork, submit to a thorough background check, submit to a thorough medical exam including blood tests and receive a not alterable plastic ID card. No fines, fees or penalties will be charged. You will be required to pay income taxes, property taxes, etc on all future employment and transactions. You will be required to contribute to the Social Security System and Medicare in all future job situations. You will not be able to register or vote. You and yours will not be eligible for food stamps, ebt cards, section eight housing, medicaid, and or any other federal, state, county, or city funded assistance. After 5 years and with a clean record, you and yours will be able to apply for citizenship after passing a citizenship exam and taking a loyalty oath.
If you are not a citizen and do not reside in the United States but would like to, get up Monday morning and go to the nearest legal border crossing. Submit to the exact same process and limitations as above. You will receive the same plastic, unalterable ID card and will be subject to the exact same rules as above.
If you are now an illegal alien or an alien living in another country and you come to the United States with your family, each will receive a plastic, unalterable ID card including your children. Your children, from day one, will be eligible for public school education with all the same benefits as citizens including school feeding programs.
THIS IMMIGRATION PROGRAM APPLIES ONLY TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE CITIZENS OF COUNTRIES LOCATED IN THE AMERICAS!
I believe this program is a very great and special opportunity for immigrants. The United States is not a fairy tale…there are mostly good people here but there are also some bad ones. You can be cheated, robbed, raped and/or murdered just like in your home country. We want you here to help improve our overall society. We don’t need you here as a burden. We have enough of that already. We recognize your dignity and worth as a human being and believe you should be treated as such regardless of your race, color, origin or religious beliefs. Don’t lets us OR yourselves down!
There, for you current U.S. citizens, PROBLEM SOLVED…
The U.S. is supposed to be a Republic. When an illegal (someone who doesn’t obey the law) is thrown before the pearls of freedom and democracy it is not a good thing. First of all, they know no other form of government but what they’ve lived under. Giving a child real pearls is harmful, both to the pearls and the child. They need to be instructed to respect the pearl, that comes with maturity and the proper education of what it takes to handle such a precious thing.
What this proves is that white people are second-class citizens in the US. Why is the GOP trying to fight with the Dems over Hispanic votes, while not giving one thought to white voters, who are getting screwed backwards, forwards, and sideways by minority preferences?
