NEW YORK (OfficialWire) — Jim Lehrer may be regretting his decision to come out of semi-retirement and moderate his 12th presidential debate.
The veteran PBS anchor drew caustic social media reviews for his performance on Wednesday, with critics saying he failed to keep control of the campaign’s first direct exchange between President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney. The candidates talked over Lehrer’s attempts to keep them to time limitations, and his open-ended questions frequently lacked sharpness.
The tough assessments crossed party lines: Republican commentator Laura Ingraham wrote on Twitter that Lehrer seemed “a bit overwhelmed.” Comic and Democratic activist Bill Maher bluntly tweeted that “Lehrer sucked.”
It’s not the night Lehrer would have expected. The 78-year-old moderated 11 presidential debates between 1988 and 2008, and after writing a book last year about his experiences, Lehrer said he was through. But he was persuaded to come back Wednesday to handle the long-awaited contest between Romney and Obama.

to playing with a stacked deck, that they were unable to stand up on a level field. Obama did not lose because he performed badly, but because the facts were no in his favor. All Romney did was openly speak the truth.

The Moderator performed well. At least he was not “In the Tank” for Obama as virtually all of the DemoNaziCommie Redstream Media has been. But now, the Ratings of the Alphabet Soup DemoNaziCommie Media will fall like a rocket on a straight down trajectory. And rightly so, the Idiot In Chief that they created, watered, fawned over has been exposed, not a a “King without Cloths”, but an “Empty Suit without a President in it”, only a spoiled actor, of total deceit, with no real political experience and not much clout for a brain.
What did the media expect from Lehrer? They wanted him to shut Romney up, for more of the same one sided crap they deliver
It is interesting to me that the liberal press is whining because Lehrer wasn’t in the tank for Obama. He did try, but Romney let him know early on that he wasn’t going to sit still for it and Lehrer did pretty well after that. When Romney is elected and unfunds PBS, they can fire Lehrer, like they did Juan Williams and then Fox can hire him. I thought he did fine. These people just can’t stand it that Obama did so poorly. I personally don’ t kinow why they are surprised, the guy is a loser.
