It’s interesting to witness the continued fallout from the election two weeks ago. Residents of most of the states in the Union have begun petitions on the White House website for secession from the United States of America. Such talk is superfluous; for the last time any states attempted to secede, over half-a-million Americans died in the ensuing Civil War. Hence, even our Pledge of Allegiance says of our United States: “indivisible.”
Interestingly, however, Thomas Jefferson seemed to think contrarily. In a letter penned in 1825, Jefferson said, that states “should separate from our companions only when the sole alternatives left, are the dissolution of our Union with them, or submission to a government without limitation of powers. Between these two evils, when we must make a choice, there can be no hesitation.”
The head of the Texas Nationalist Movement, Daniel Miller, said this past week, “The fact of the matter is, that there cannot be a union between those that esteem the principles of Karl Marx over the principles of Thomas Jefferson. Here in Texas, we esteem those principles of Thomas Jefferson – that all political power’s inherent in the people.”
Michael Childs at PatriotAction.net’s forum wrote that the nation “has never been more divided during my lifetime. We are racially divided, divided by wealth, ideologically divided, divided by sexual preference, divided by religion, city dwellers against the rural population, etc.,” he said.
As a nation, we do seem insolubly divided, especially on ideological grounds. Our divisive conundrum seems all the more inscrutable in light of the last four years, which have divided us even further under the leadership of “The One” who was to unite us (but in reality has driven the wedges even deeper.)
Looking at the county map of election results two weeks ago, it seems clear that even if secession was possible at the state level, it would be illogical. Looking at Ohio, for example, easily 80% of the counties map is red. The same holds true for the entire country. If the country was to be divided by ideological majority, Obama’s America would look very much like Detroit, Chicago, or New York while Romney’s America would comprise the intermountain West, Texas, the Midwest, the South, and the rest of the “fly over” country that the urbanites hold in such low regard.
It reminded me of a letter circulated after the 2008 election, written purportedly by a law student, who drafted a “Divorce Agreement” between the ideologically divided states. He prefaced his agreement with, “We have stuck together since the late 1950s for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course. Our two ideological factions cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let’s just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.”
He then went on to spell out the separation agreement. Geographically, the East and left coasts would go blue, with a few states in between, and the rest would be red. What followed was an ideological division of resources and precepts, which I will restate in my own words, liberally adding content along the way.
The red states will keep their Judeo-Christian values and “In God We Trust,” de facto retaining all current currency, since the blue Convention made it clear they didn’t even want “God” referenced in their platform. They’ll also retain the Pledge of Allegiance, for the same reason. The blue states will be free to indulge in all the humanism, political correctness, and diversity inculcation they want.
The blue states can implement unfettered infanticide against the unborn, while the red states will choose to protect life, especially the most vulnerable and innocent of all.
Since the red states don’t like taxes, they’ll reduce their rates, allowing the blue states to raise theirs as high as they please. But since the blue states don’t like the one-percenters, the red states will claim all of them, except the ones who’re convinced they aren’t paying enough in taxes. Those will all move to Hollywood. The red states can then fully implement trickle-down wealth, while the blue states continue their trickle-up poverty.
The red states can continue to balance their budgets and maintain solvency; and since the blue states don’t care about the size of the national debt, they can take the $16 trillion on the books now and continue to spend like there’s no tomorrow. For there likely won’t be one.
The blue states can keep all of their nanny state programs, intrusive regulation, and liberty-destroying government meddling, and expand it to their hearts content, while the red states will opt for freedom. And closely related, the blue states can redistribute income as much as they want, while the red states can return to free market capitalism, allowing people to truly engage in the “pursuit of happiness.”
Since the blue states don’t like guns or care too much for the military, and seem to think of them as more of a test-tube environment to practice social engineering on, the red states will take the military, all of the firearms, and the NRA. That would also be a great way to ensure that the only ones in the blue states with firearms are criminals, since law abiding citizens will not have them.
The blue states can keep Obamacare, and the red states can take the doctors who don’t like it, which according to the most recent poll, was 83% of them.
Aside from illustrating a few of the points of disaffection of our divided America, this exercise, especially if carried to logical conclusions, provides an insight into what the state of the nation would degenerate to if unbridled liberalism had its way. Succinctly, their agenda is untenable without the morality and financial resources of the taxpayers, producers, employers, laborers, and middle class of the right. Eventually the blue states would be at the doorstep of the red states pleading for a bailout and a rescue plan.
Clearly, there will be no secessionist states, or division of resources like a divorce settlement. But the depth and breadth of our cultural divide is clearly bifurcated. I guess we’ll just have to cope like embattled spouses in an unhappy marriage, and try to get along as best we can. This may require some compromises along the way, but that means giving a little on both sides, not just a caving in by the red side.

The Pledge of Allegiance was specifically wrote by a MARXIST for the use in administering to Confederates and people of the South in order they be admitted citizenship again. “Indivisible was NOT referred to in reference to the states or the union before that time.
Thomas Jefferson did not mean that the union to be dissolved by the agreement of all states. That was letter was a private letter and not meant as an official statement. It was his personal opinion at that time. OTOH, try reading Jefferson’s 1st Inaugural Address to see what he really said about secession. It is different than what was in the private letter.
““The fact of the matter is, that there cannot be a union between those that esteem the principles of Karl Marx over the principles of Thomas Jefferson. ”
EXACTLY right! How can two so dissimilar people be expected to live together? Is that being fair to either side? More in another post.
“Looking at the county map of election results two weeks ago, it seems clear that even if secession was possible at the state level, it would be illogical.”
People will have to be given the choice to relocate.
“Clearly, there will be no secessionist states, or division of resources like a divorce settlement.”
By not having a peaceful separation the chances of civil war drastically increases. One reason is because of the friction between the two cultures of peoples who actually cannot stand being around the other. Yet with Federal Law forcing people to do things against their their will only bad will is developed, then hate, prejudice and finally violence. I would guess we are near the violence stage now. Nor does this mean the violence will be strictly confined to the people. It is most likely to start or progress by the Federal Government imposing their laws onto the people, specifically the more conservative ones.
We as a people, both sides and all cultures of us should not be forced to live together. It is a detriment to all of us! But it does appear the Marxists must hold onto everyone in order that they have a group of producers that will fill their tax coffers for more social programs and social laws. If they let us go; Who would pay for the government?

Mike,
Marx wasn’t born until 1818. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Marx
@Hardnox
So?
The philosophy and ideology existed far before then.
The Pledge was rewritten during the war.
The Pledge was not even used before the war, nor did it carry much if any patriotic identity before the war. Do you even know how people originally saluted the when saying the Pledge? Marxism as a term didn’t gain widespread usage and acceptance until the late 1800′s. Marx wrote his entire life concerning Marxism. He died in 1883 and F Engels took over finishing his works. During Lincoln’s War, Lincoln allowed 10s of thousands of Marxists, or you can call them socialists or followers of Karl Marx to enter the Northern US. Although this had started after the failed 1848 insurrection in Europe where the Marxists were trying to over-throw those governments. There were app 12 union generals that came from militaries who had tried to over-throw their governments, which Lincoln allowed into the union army mainly as generals. Also a state governor and many other state and government officials were among these people fleeing from their loss in Europe. I suggest you read the book, “Lincoln’s Marxists” by Al Benson for an eye opening experience. This is a reason the Northern US has always been a bastion of liberal and Marxist thinkers. I can also recommend books on the story behind the Pledge of Allegiance as well as the Battle Hymn of the Republic. You have been severely misled by your government, as has the rest of you! Now you’re just beginning to see and understand why!

I wanna know something. Why should two dissimilar people be forced to live together? Is not that like a married couple who constantly argues and fights while the husband refuses to let his wife leave? Where is the love of a marriage and union when all there is, is discontent, disagreements, arguments and hostilities? Is not this similar or the same as the liberals forcing the conservatives to live with them and support them? Of course the claim can be made no one is keeping you here and don’t let the door slam you in the backside on the way out. However, lest you forget BOTH sides brought something into this union and both sides are entitled to take what is rightfully theirs, property and land included!
I fail to see the logic of forcing different peoples to live under the same government when it is detrimental to one side. Or you can say, that when the system becomes highly biased and favorable to one side. If the liberals were as kind-hearted, gentlemanly, honorable, and giving as they so loudly proclaim, then they would or should feel honored and noble for doing such a good thing as letting those who disagree with them go in peace. And if the liberals are as right as they profess to be, then it shouldn’t take long before the other side comes begging to rejoin them so they can then have those liberal benefits and enjoy the wisdom and patience of a kind spouse.
Why is it that I don’t see the above happening? Why is it that I see Obama and the liberals actually being selfish and greedy? Why do they want to forcefully hold on to something that is so opposed to them? Why must Obama and the liberals act out of vengeance and malice to those that wish a peaceful separation? Who does this make it look like to be the guilty party?
I remember reading once there was a man who said, “Pharaoh, let my people go!” He said this in peace and wanting to leave peacefully, but the Pharaoh hardened his heart and said no. Because the Pharaoh would not listen and do the righteous thing, he and many more of his people suffered terribly! Some of you say, ah, but isn’t a wife to obey her husband? And I’ll say it is written that two people shall not be unequally yoked! And that is exactly what we have in this country today! Two people unequally yoked, one being forced to obey the other, and that is wrong! That is evil! Let our people go in peace with their belongings and their part of the lands, and you keep what is yours. Let the people choose which side they wish to follow and let them move there accordingly. If not, all I see for your future is great problems, worse than the Pharaoh and his people ever experienced. Let this end in peace before it gets out of control and people actually start suffering.
Ironically, I don’t see this happening. I see the Pharaoh repeating history all over again.

Given how the secession petitions which flooded the White House in the wake of Barack Obama’s reelection have generated so much media attention and made secession a mainstream topic of political discussion, we thought we would put together a list of some of the things that the people of any seceded Southern or ‘Red State’ would surely miss if they left the Union. As you can see from the list it is quite clear that civilisation as we know it would come to an end in any independent State. The utter misery and horror of such a fate is almost unbearable to even consider. Note that the list below is far from comprehensive; detailing the full horror of independence from the United States Federal Government would surely require many volumes.
If any of the Southern or conservative-leaning State seceded from the Union they would surely miss:
The Internal Revenue Service.
No National taxes in general.
Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein and the services of the entire California congressional delegation.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
Affirmative action.
Obamacare.
Amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Federal control of State land.
Endless political struggle against New England, Upper Midwest and West Coast.
Being replaced or displaced.
Paying for US military interventions around the globe.
Barney Frank and the services of the entire Massachusetts congressional delegation.
‘Helicopter’ Ben Bernanke and the US Federal Reserve. Have legal and real money again which means extremely little inflation, ever.
Propping up Federally-supported foreign terrorist cults.
National Public Radio.
Witch hunts against sheriffs who arrest illegal aliens.
Federal courts striking down our election districts.
Federal drones spying on us.
Being in the same Union as Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Representation abroad by Hillary Clinton.
Roe v Wade.
The United States Supreme Court.
Occupying foreign lands for Washington, DC.
The assassination czar and the CIA.
Federal birth control mandate.
Paying for climate change propaganda.
Giving billions of dollars to foreign governments.
Gun control.
The Voting Rights Act.
If we seceded, we’d lose our honored status as these stereotypically ignorant and inbred scapegoats.
No more NDAA
No more Patriot Act
No more Government phone wiretapping of average honest Americans.
No more FBI files of the public, everyone including you and me.
Homeland Defense. Would revert back to the way it supposed to have worked, which is through your own state. It hasn’t in the past because of Federal Restrictions.
What additional horrors can you think of which would result from independence from the US Federal Government?

No agenda 21
No Green energy as mandated by the Federal Government.
(Let the people and the states move to it at their own pace.)

The way things are at this time, I am thinking that we m ay have to divide. The gulf of our ideological division is so great, that I think it may be the only way. Many of us believe int eh Constitution, the way our forefathers did; the other approx half believe the collective is all, communist style.
Here is a letter from a man who has become a member in the secessionist movement as of late. Prior to this he already knew and had some friends in, shall we say, positions as Federal Government police. Here is what his friend told him about his activities. Note a level 5 is NOT the highest threat assigned to a person, but the highest threat assigned to a person the Federal Government deems as NON-VIOLENT! This man is a preacher and holds a phd in ethics and degrees in several other areas. He has taught at major universities. I completely fail to see how the Federal can determine this against him and them having the legal ability to do against him what is stated in the letter below.
UNEXPECTED PEACE ~ Last week another agent in a most friendly manner began telling me what they can do to me because of this “Level 5″ rating without a court order or anything else. He explained that U.S. Government agents could arrest me at any time any where WITHOUT bringing any charges against me or even telling me why I was being taken into custody. That was not reassuring.
I felt like I was
being tranported into somekind of futuristic Isaac Asimov SCI-FI movie plot. BUT . . . BUT there is an element that I did not expect, though what he told me did not surprise me. There is a reassuring element that truly removes fear when you know truth is on your side. Further, there is an embolding element when you know that you are on the side of righteousness and that other people of honourable character and excellence have trod this path before you.
Is that what you want from your Federal Government? Not me! It’s time to stop this mess before we become another NAZI Germany or USSR! Fore that is where we are headed if we allow this Federal Government to continue.
