The Real Reason Romney Lost

Mitt Romney CPAC 2011 SC The Real Reason Romney Lost

Now that Mitt Romney lost to one of the most unpopular presidents in U.S. history, the question many are asking is why?

Political pundits on the Left and Right are claiming that Romney appealed too much to the “extreme Right fringe” and was not “moderate enough.”

The truth is that the exact opposite is true.

Prior to the 08’ election, I wrote an article entitled, “RINO=GOP RIP” and warned the GOP not to nominate a liberal establishment candidate like Rudy McRomney for the simple reason that it is virtually impossible to win a national presidential election without your base on election day as 1976, 1992, and 1996 all demonstrated. Unfortunately, the GOP elites thought the pro-family/pro-life Christian base would hold their proverbial noses and vote for their candidate who was essentially a liberal Democrat, John McCain regardless.

They were wrong.

Obama won in an historical landslide.

Fast forward to 2012, and many of us warned that if the GOP once again nominated an establishment-approved liberal like Romney that it would virtually assure 4 more years of the Neo-Marxist radical community organizer in the White House since, again, it’s virtually impossible to win without your base on election day.

But once again, the liberal elites who essentially run the GOP (Reince Priebus, Karl Rove, The Bushies, the folks over at Fox News, the Weekly Standard, and National Review) rammed yet another establishment liberal RINO down our throats who was, from the very beginning, destined for defeat.

Obama’s base turned out Tuesday night.

Romney’s  didn’t.

And why should they have?

After all, in just the past few months, Romney did virtually everything possible to snub the very same Evangelical conservative GOP “Values Voters” base (whose support he would need in every one of the key swing states he lost the other night) by:

  • Refusing to sign the Susan B. Anthony and Personhood U.S.A pro-life pledges.
  • Reaffirming his opposition to bans on homosexual scoutmasters.
  • Opposing 100% pro-life, pro-family, across the board conservative Senatorial candidate Todd Akin.
  • Running pro-abortion ads in key pro-life swing states.
  • Stating that “abortion legislation” and Chick Fill-A was not “part of his agenda.”  (marriage, life, and small business not “part of your agenda?”)

Santorum was right when he said that Romney was the “worst Republican in the country to run against Obama.”

Having lost his own senate re-election bid by 18 points in 2006 by snubbing his own base (by supporting uber-liberal Arlen Specter over conservative primary challenger Pat Toomey), Santorum was all too familiar with what happens when your base stays home on election day.

The GOP elites should have listened to sweater vest Santorum.

So, how do we stop perpetually repeating this mistake every 4 years, you ask?

Simple.

Christian and conservative leaders and grassroots citizens must make it clear that we will, under no circumstances, compromise our core moral and spiritual beliefs by supporting godless liberals like Romney for public office, no matter how many times the liberal GOP inside-the-beltway elites tell us our 100% pro-life, pro-marriage, pro- rule of law Constitutional conservative Christian candidate isn’t “electable.”

When we set the standard based on God’s authoritative Word and tell those running to represent us that if they don’t meet that standard that they will not get our support, I believe we will get candidates who truly represent us.

I’m talking about candidates who believe that our rights come from God and who actually understand that the primary purpose of civil government is to protect and defend those God-given (inalienable) rights (chiefly the right to life without which all other rights are meaningless) and that every elected official at every branch and level of government possesses the same sworn obligation to enforce the imperative requirements of the Supreme Law of the Land.

There were obviously millions of Christians and conservatives who don’t subscribe to the utilitarian-secular-humanist and anti-Biblical “lesser of two evils” construct who refused to cast a vote for the most radically pro-abortion, pro-homosexual governor in the history of the Republic, regardless of who his opponent was.

If the GOP is serious about reversing course in the next election, they may want to run actual candidates whom the base will actually turn out for on election day.

Because, as Romney proved Tuesday night, you don’t win without your base on election day…

  1. You stated: Now that Mitt Romney lost to one of the most ‘unpopular presidents’ in U.S. history. If BHO was unpopular he would not have won! Now that illegals have drivers licenses all they have to do is register an address show their DL and vote. Therefore the Democrats will take back the House. I think the people reading this comment should contact their Reps and demand that all voters be given a reciept showing who they voted for.
I am also sure BHO has the money and power backing him that he will remain in office for a long time! As far as I am concerned I believe the US will never be the same and we will lose our super power status. He will help the Muslims take over the US and there is nothing we can do about it!

    • No one for any reason would have won this election against Obama and it has nothing to do with popularity. I have been nieve on the corruptness of this administration. I would have called anyone a liar if they would have told me this administration could do what they’ve done against the American people. No one can win against electronic voting machines. No one can win against counties that report results of 104%, 140%, 99% etc of voters registered to vote. No one can win against van loads of Somalians that were allowed to vote. To be a citizen you have to learn english and be able to read english to be able to take the test. These people were brought to the polls in government vans and their interpreters told them who to vote for pointing to Obama. This election couldn’t have been any sleazyer. This is the Obama agenda. He was counting on his illiterate and ignorant base.

    • Why are there so many posts in these forums that are literally as stupid in their analysis and expression as no doubt was the reasoning used to vote for Obama? Answer: Because there are lot of people who are obviously extremely challenged when it comes to their ability to think and express themselves rationally and intelligently. One can only assume at first blush this must be to some extent if not to a great extent the product of our public education system.

    • If the illegals get amnesty then chances are America will be ruled by the democrats for a long time.

    • Conservatives didn’t help America by staying home instead of voting because Romney wasn’t conservative enough.

  2. Thank you again Mr Noe,
Once again you still prove to be, by far, the best author/writer here at Western Journalism. You’re so close to perfection with your article above I won’t even call out the minute details I *may* have concerns about.

It’s a pleasure reading your articles after reading the one yesterday from some guy nicknamed “coach”.

“Now that Mitt Romney lost to one of the most ‘unpopular presidents’ in U.S. history. If BHO was unpopular he would not have won! ”

Doesn’t mean that Romney was more popular than Obama; now does it?
Or you can state it this way; It doesn’t mean Romney is more popular than Obama by the statement Mr Noe made. He simply stated that Obama was ONE of the most unpopular presidents ever. He didn’t say Obama was the most unpopular, or least popular. Nor did he compare Obama to Romney, as Romney’s popularity is not directly addressed in comparison to Obama’s. I think it says a lot when Obama names A Lincoln as his favorite president. In his day Lincoln was the most unpopular president ever elected. Only after his death was he elevated to sainthood, which was contrived to propagandize and deceive the public. Lincoln also had the votes scammed in his re-election, but you don’t hear about it.

  4. In my opinion Romney lost for several reasons, being a wimp didn’t help going in against Chicago thuggery. One of the main reasons he lost was the parasite vote, we have passed the point of no return and it’s downhill from now on. Over the years we have voted ourselves into the trash heap of history, this didn’t start with Obama…it ended with him !

    • @RoyalPayne
Yes you voted yourselves into the trash heaps of history.
I have also said that many times.
I’ve also said that the country has become what it most despised.
But know this, the Founding Fathers repeatedly told us NOT to allow the voting this way. They were highly opposed to Democratic principles when it came to voting. This is why they used a LIMITED vote, which means the US was originally a LIMITED Democracy. I’ve also repeatedly stated these facts and principles in my posts under my name here. What you ended up with was what the Founding Fathers knew would happen if the vote was ever given to everyone, and that was the US would turn itself into a MOBOCRACY. Which is “rule by the masses”, and this ain’t good, not in any way. It is exactly the same as 2 foxes and a chicken voting for what’s for supper! I think you know who has been voted into being the supper by now! My people repeatedly warned ya’ll against, but we were only met contempt and was criticized for our attempts. Now you’ll have to go it alone for we are not strong enough to help ourselves, much less someone else. We would be happy, overjoyed to simply have our South back! The SOuth was right; you know?

      Michael– Deo Vindicabamur

  5. I disagree. The difference was 2.7 % between Romney and Obama and 7.27 % between Obama and McCain.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_elections_by_popular_vote_margin
Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, the conservatives and the republicans did just fine.
Maybe a little to decent, to polite. But the reason of reelecting Obama is caused by the monopoly mass media of ABC MSNBC CNN CBS has over the undecided voter, the necessity for polling agencies to comply with the party political preference in order to have its then party political preference broadcasted for millions of mostly undecided voters and the fact that ABC, MSNBC, CNN and CBS were all pro Obama and anti Mitt Romney.
There were other factors ..but they were marginal to the above.
2ndly By protocol Mitt Romney received CIA briefings in the last weeks during the debates and hemust have concluded that if the information he got regarding the Benghazigate scandal where Obama committed at least two counts of Treason to the US Congress were to be made publick ..
Romney concluded he either had to acquiescence by keeping this secret or would have gotten the blame for supposedly causing a second US civil war given the gravity of all the constitutional powers involved …
Today we see just that unfolding with the lie regarding Petraeus departure in orderto avoid testimony ..

  6. Obama is not “popular”, Gregg. 10 million fewer leftists voted for him this time around. Romney didn’t lose the election so much as Obama won by promising more free stuff. The siren song of socialism lured many into the Obama camp and the right wing base of the Republican Party sat on their hands. The REAL entity that allowed Obama to win again was the Republican establishment, aka the Country Club Republicans, aka Neo-Cons, aka Moderate Republicans. Only a true conservative who espouses true conservative values can defeat the greedy, self-absorbed leftists.

  7. f Millions were spent on the Republican Campaign, I sure didn’t see any of it in Michigan. I saw not only Obama adds trashing Romney, but also adds from other Democrats trashing the Republican candidates. I think I can count on one hand the number of Republican campaign adds I saw and heard all through the campaign. Until less than a month before the election, the closest Republican Campaign Office was almost a hundred miles away. Even when we did get one there was hardly anything there. You almost couldn’t spit in any direction without hitting at least one Democrat office. Also during the debates of the Republican candidates trying for the nomination, there was a lot of mud slinging which I personally felt to be a turn off. Instead of trashing each other they should have concentrated on winning the White House and what each one planned to do if elected. The Republican Party cut their own throats. You need to take a look at this video. This guy has a unique way of telling it like it is.

  8. Now reading your article RINO-GOP RIP…
Regarding Romney and the Big Dig: “The Big Dig began in 1982, 20 years before Mitt Romney even became Governor. That took about 30 seconds of research to debunk this nonsense.” http://bb.intrade.com/intradeForum/posts/list/493206.page

Not dissing the article, but really — be more cognizant of your research. That Boston project was a scandal because of Boston and Mass pols and org crime, all in place long before Romney was governor. A freight train racing downhill that no one would jump in front of or could do anything about by the time Romney arrived on scene. The rest of the story may accurately depict why the GOP dead for now but the Big Dig hardly is Romney’s fault. Don’t let good articles’ salient points get lost with such references. Edit, edit, edit, edit until it hurts — only then publish.

  9. In america, we dont have ‘fair’ elections.

The ‘known,’ yet ‘unknown’ black box voting machines, are easily hacked by ‘administrators as seen on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFJeVsOy5Xo&feature=related

It gives ‘third parties’ access to YOUR voting. So, regardless of right or left, we are BOTH getting scammed!

Watch this video (in 7 parts if you need) on how Germany ‘freed themselves” from this tryanny:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNQK_ffZBjw

  10. Both parties wanted computer voting BECAUSE VOTES ARE SO EASILY HACKED AND STOLEN!!
Both parties (not talking about their voters) are slime, all about special interest and getting their snouts into the trough, the same animal in different disguise. Never believe differently.
