The Liberals’ Gun Control Crusade Targets…the Amish?

The double-talking liberal Democrats in Illinois have voted down a Republican measure to demand that those attempting to vote produce a photo ID. The arguments they made were the same shopworn nonsense they always use: “Such a law will discourage voting”; “It disadvantage minority groups”; etc.

In spite of the ever-increasing movement toward photo identification everywhere we look, these people are able to kill photo ID bills. They have the votes in the Illinois legislature and fear their fraudulent voters will not be able to keep supporting them if the system were to become honest.

Gun Control is the Liberals’ Religion

The same liberal Democrats who fight to keep voters from having to produce photo ID have now passed a new law that will demand photo ID for those who want to exercise their Second Amendment right to buy a gun.

For most of the comrades living in a socialist-leaning state like Illinois, assaults on freedom like this are part of life. Nevertheless, not all of Illinois’ citizens can merely shrug off this law.

The Land of Lincoln has a sizable Amish population for whom guns are an everyday tool of life. They rely on guns for their protection from two- and four-legged predators. The Amish, however, have a religious law that forbids them from knowingly having their pictures taken.

The situation is critical for the Amish because they are a religious minority with little connection to the secular world and no one to stand up for them against the liberals’ exercise of their religion, which is gun control.

The Amish Must Choose: Christ or Caesar?

The center of the Amish community in Illinois is rural Douglas County, so that is where this outrageous assault on religion is felt the most. The Amish will be forced to either put aside their religion or go hungry and defenseless as a sacrifice to the god of liberalism.

Putting people of faith in untenable situations has become a regular mode of operation in the Obama administration. This is something we have to remember next election day.
