The left-leaning Democrats have managed, yet again, to get it wrong. During this campaign, they have hurled one insult after another at the American people. Along with Obama’s “You didn’t build that”, Biden’s “They gonna put ya’ll back in chains”, and Harry Reid proclaiming that Mitt Romney is the most secretive candidate ever, now the Democrats have put out an ad proclaiming “the government is the only thing we all belong to”.
We did build it
Even with the “walk back” statements telling us that he was “talking about the public infrastructure” when he made the comment saying “You didn’t build that”, he is wrong. The roads, schools, parks, bridges, prisons, welfare, social security, Medicare, military, and more were all built using tax dollars. We the citizens of the United States of America paid a portion of our paychecks, every paycheck, to pay for these things. We the people built this country and everything in it, not the government. So yes, Mr. Obama, we did build that.
That speech alone may cause Barack Obama to lose whatever chance he might have had at a second term. I know several people who had planned to support him until he uttered those words. He will go down in history as the president who dared to tell America we “didn’t build that”. Obama has built nothing worthwhile during his term in office and, as far as I can see, did not build anything before he took office. The liberal media built Obama’s campaign for him; so in fact, we the people have more of a right to say “You didn’t build that” to him than he has the right to say it to us. Most of us are tired of hearing him and the liberal media tell us that we didn’t build it, that he did not say those words, or that he meant something else when he said it.
“Gonna put ya’ll back in chains”
It is well-documented that it has always been the Republican Party that has stepped up to defend the rights of all citizens, and that the Democrats were the ones who fought to retain slavery. They also tried to prevent the Civil Rights Movement from going forward. A simple Google search will present the truth for anyone who cares to make the effort. Those who do not make the effort do not care.
The most secretive candidate ever
No, Mr. Reid, that would be Barack Obama. Mitt Romney gave us what was required, a legitimate un-forged copy of his tax returns. Obama has given us how many forged copies of his birth certificate (each with a different birth date)? What about his forged draft card, and which social security number is really his? Mitt Romney’s entire life is available for review. How about showing us your tax returns for the last ten years, Mr. Reid? Or just one genuine copy of the birth certificate.
“The government is the only thing we all belong to”
Excuse me? I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that this statement meant something to the effect of “the government is like a big club that all Americans belong to” rather than “the government owns everyone”. While both statements are offensive to any thinking American, the second is worse than the first because it says that the Democrats are trying to put Americans in chains (not the Republicans, as Biden would have us believe). The first statement is almost as bad though, implying that the government is a club we belong to. This is as blatantly wrong as the other statement. The government is not a club and should not be viewed as such; it is an entity owned by the American Citizens. The American people should be telling the government what to do, not the other way around.
With Obama’s “You didn’t build that”, Biden’s “They gonna put ya’ll back in chains”, and Harry Reid proclaiming that Mitt Romney is the most secretive candidate ever, and now the Democrats ad proclaiming “the government is the only thing we all belong to”, they have gotten it wrong again. At what point is the Democratic Party going to wise up and realize that the American people are not stupid? And at what point are the American people going to realize that the Democrats seem to think we are?
