The Kerry-ization Of Mitt Romney

John Kerry SC The Kerry ization of Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney is getting the full John Kerry treatment on national security — and some top Republicans are alarmed by what they see as his ham-handed response to it.

Romney — whose convention speech didn’t include a salute to the troops or a reference to Afghanistan, where about 75,000 Americans are still at war — is getting hit almost daily now by Democratic attacks that he is wobbly and therefore untrustworthy on national security.

It’s the same critique Republicans used to undermine Kerry to devastating effect eight years ago — and the Obama campaign plans to use the run-up to the presidential debates to make a major issue of Romney’s surprising convention stumble.

Retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark, an Obama surrogate, said Monday that the GOP nominee’s approach has been “unbecoming of someone who wants to become commander in chief.” Clark was building on a very personal critique of Romney that started with Kerry himself at last week’s Democratic convention and was quickly followed by Vice President Joe Biden and then President Barack Obama.

Romney, who aides say has downplayed national security in speeches and in the campaign to focus on the economy, will seek to repair any damage on Tuesday, the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, when he speaks to a crowd of 4,000 at the annual conference of the National Guard Association in Reno, Nev. What might have been a standard patriotic speech has become a more urgent mission to reset the national security debate for the last nine weeks of the campaign, aides said.

  1. National security isn’t the only thing that neither Obama or Romney can be trusted with. We already know that the only thing that Obama can be trusted to do is lie about everything but I’m finding the same to be true about Romney. Romney was a registered democrat before he ran for president and he still maintains that same liberal ideals as Obama. For example, Romney supposedly made millions from disposing of the babies that were aborted under Romneycare: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/07/romney-bain-abortion-stericycle-sec

Appropriate for POTUS to murder US citizens? Mitt says “Absolutely!”

Like Obama, both Romney and Ryan approve of indefinitely detaining you and your family without trial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1yY3NCiMVQ

    Romney committed voter fraud: http://www.veteransnewsnow.com/2012/07/07/mitt-romney-committed-voter-fraud-looks-likely/

Romney supports Obama’s desire to divide Israel to create a Palestinian state. On page 49 of the official PDF file from the RNC 2012 website, we read the following:

“…we envision two democratic states – Israel with Jerusalem as its capital and Palestine – living in peace and security…” – Mitt Romney 2012 RNC Convention

  2. After six years of campaigning for the presidency, you’d think by now Romney would know how to do it right. I too noticed the absence in his convention speech of any reference to our troops battling Islamo-Nazis in the M.E. and the imminent threat to our ally, Israel by a nuclear Iran. Now well after the fact, he is responding with a half-hearted response to criticism. With the attacks in Egypt and Libya on our embassies and the murdering of our ambassador in Libya by the Islamic Brotherhood, Romney again is impotent in my view in criticizing the incompetent Obama regime’s foreign policy as well as its domestic policy of condemning Americans exercising their First Amendment right of free speech in being critical of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Grow a pair Romney, puhleeez, before you go down to defeat once again following the losing campaign strategy model of the republican establishment and Karl Rove. Ronald Reagan took Jimmy Carter to the wood shed every day in the final days of the 1980 campaign over Carter’s handling of the disastrous American embassy hostage crisis in Iran. It took all of 24 hours after RR was sworn in for the hostages to be released after being held for 144 days. Romney needs to do the same thing here. You can bet that were it Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich as the republican nominee for president, they would be doing that non-stop, especially Gingrich who has a knack for knowledgeable and acerbic criticism of his opponents. I despise the republican establishment, aka RINOs. How I do wish they would just go quietly into the night to be replaced by the Conservative Party. Appeasement by our State Department and the Obama Regime will only get more of our embassies attacked and more innocent people killed.

Why do we keep embassies manned in countries ruled by the Islamo-Nazis? Pull our people out and close them down and cease with the waste of precious resources in the form of foreign aid to said countries.
