Two-thirds of likely voters say the weak economy is Washington’s fault, and more blame President Obama than anybody else, according to a new poll for The Hill.
It found that 66 percent believe paltry job growth and slow economic recovery is the result of bad policy. Thirty-four percent say Obama is the most to blame, followed by 23 percent who say Congress is the culprit. Twenty percent point the finger at Wall Street, and 18 percent cite former President George W. Bush.
The results highlight the reelection challenge Obama faces amid dissatisfaction with his first-term performance on the economy.
The poll, conducted for The Hill by Pulse Opinion Research, found 53 percent of voters say Obama has taken the wrong actions and has slowed the economy down. Forty-two percent said he has taken the right actions to revive the economy, while six percent said they were not sure.
Obama has argued throughout the presidential campaign that his policies have made the economy better. He says recovery is taking a long time because he inherited such deep economic trouble upon taking office in 2009.

“Barack Obama” = Benedict Arnold = Traitor.
It was practically over night, after Obama “won” the election, that the economy took a nose dive. –People knew what was coming from him. And they were right.
Debra…
I cannot believe that ANYONE thinks he has done ANYTHING good for this country! It’s unbelievable! He has done nothing but spend, spend and spend some more; taxpayer dollars. On idiotic, non-working policies and lavish vacations for Michelle & himself plus plenty of golf time. He is riding high on our hard earned $$$$’s! I just saw a video of his plans for America if he is re-election – more reforming of America. Ha! His reforming we don’t need; he’s going to make us a 3rd world country. No jobs and allot of debt while he and the elites live like Kings; which he is already doing. Wake up America; we have to get him & the rest of his czars out of office now.
Learn math, learn the English language and then change your headline. “Thirty-four percent say Obama is the most to blame.”
Thirty-four percent is not a majority. The word you’re looking for is “plurality.”
Yes, economic policy from both parties leaves a lot to be desired and is a disaster. But at least report stuff honestly, for goodness sake.
Whenever you are talking to someone about what might have been, remember that there is no way to prove a contention like: “well, we needed to spend that otherwise the unemployment rate would have been higher” , or “if we had only spent more, we could have sped up the recovery”. Since neither hypothesis is testable, they cannot be used to justify an action.
Spending more could have been worse. Spending nothing might have been better. So don’t fall for the Dem mouthpiece (Obama) saying that things would have been worse if he had not taken action (spent our tax money)
It’s about d**n time people wake up and see who’s REALLY to blame for the mess this country is in! ABO in 2012!
This is how ‘natural cover’ “Manchurian Candidate” ‘Barack Chuka Harrison, etc, etc’ does “economics”. African-stylee. He sacrifices a goat, then ‘reads’ its entrails. Done!
The 42% that feel that OB is on the right track are also in the majority of people that do not pay a single dime in income tax and have their hands out to receive fiord stamps, welfare and any other social benefit offered by the government. Polls mean ZERO and they only hurt and do not help the candidates that are running.
