Friday night the Republicans and Democrats reached a deal to avoid a government shutdown. The Republicans had promised $100 billion in cuts. They back pedaled to $61 billion in cuts. They have actually agreed to $38.5 billion in cuts, or about four days worth of spending by the federal government.
Many of the conservatives who booed them for going from $100 billion to $61 billion are now ready to dip John Boehner in bronze and champion him as the second coming of Ronald Reagan.
The most depressing bit of all of this is how quickly conservative pundits who promised they were to going to throw off the shackles of fidelity to the Republican Party after Bush and become again true conservative warriors for freedom have descended, automaton like, into guttural cheerleading for a Republican Party that just went from $100 billion in promised cuts to a third of that in actual cuts while selling out the unborn for roughly $1000 per murdered child assuming reports are true that they got the Democrats to increase cuts $1 billion in exchange for dropping the defunding of Planned Parenthood.
God knows if there is one lesson for the Republican leaders in this, it is that they can promise the moon, deliver dirt, and the sycophantic conservative media will pop fireworks, fly American flags, and proclaim that dirt the second coming of Jesus Christ.
It’s embarrassing really. The deal is not terrible, but it is not nearly as good as some would have you believe. For starters, that $38.5 billion is total for the year — not an additional cut on top of what was already cut. Let’s review the good and the bad.

I no longer read Mr. Erickson's site. On one occasion, several of us began veering onto the topic of Obama's eligibility and were "banned" from his site. No profanity, no insults, just raising salient points. We were accused of wearing tin foil hats. I wonder if Mr. Erickson still holds the same views. I do not care to hear anything he has to say.
The Republicans in power like so many times before…have BETRAYED us!!..I see nothing good in this…if you are a "progressive" republican, you would think it's good, because 38 Billion is all Obozo wanted to cut…he got everything HIS Way!!! We…the American public…got the shaft!!! RINO Republicans, like Boehner have to go!! They are TRAITORS!!!
Compromise, a definition: Republicans agreeing with democrats to whatever spending arrangements democrats want.
But, what can one expect from the old gang populating Socialist Party B? Republicans had a golden opportunity to undo 40 years of damage caused by democrats during the first term of Bush. Instead, they out-democratted the democrats and piled up yet more debt, something the democrats themselves could not have done during that period of time without incurring serious, if not damaging, criticism of the spending habits typical of democrats.
I am not jumping up and down, waving the flag and saying Yea, Boenhner, and the Republicans did cave! BUT, the media is against them, they are working in a cess pool of corruption, and Obama and his minions will say anything they have to say, many times on National media, to take credit for a "deal" Obama did NOTHING to accomplish, and slam Republicans for shutting down the government. It's just a fact that we can't really get done all we want until we get a Republican or Consertive American-loving President in office. Unless we want to form and organize a 3rd Tea Party, and split the vote like we did with Ross Perot against Bill Clinton, we are stuck with the Republicans.
The Conservative Freshman in the House was a start, but we have to take the Senate, and get a President that won't Veto, any Conservative reasonable, good-for-America and our unborn children, bill. That's just the way it is.
I have been. Sensored for mentioning Obama had many aliases, many SS numbers?
Any one who still believes in the rank and file Republican being Conservative, especially a Constitutional Republic Conservative, just go a lesson in betrayal and treason to this nation. I can't think of more than about four or five Republicans I will give my vote to when it comes to the Presidency, and so far none of them have announced they are running. It appears the GOP is quite content having Obama in office, so let the GOP become past history, for I will not vote for another Juan McCain. If need be, I will cast my vote for the Constitution Party, and let the idiot crowd support the Democrat twin.
Well HAVE to get Donald Trump in the White House and sweep it out, then start with his razor sharp business mind to get us up and running again!!!! We're dyin here!!!!
You can not trust The Democratic Party nor can you Believe The Republican Party. This is exactly why i am a Registered Independent ! A Third Party Candidate i am convinced can win the White House in 2012!
COMES ELECTION DAY I WILL ONLY VOTE FOR TEA PARTY CANIDATES. I DON'T CARE IF THEY ARE REPUBLICANS OR THE DEVIL HIMSELF AS LONG AS THEY CUT OUR SPENDING. BOHNER SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF AS I REMEMBER HE WAS GOING TO CUT OBAMA CARE. I HEARD HE MADE A DEAL TO KEEP IT GOING. SCHUMER, ISRAEL, GILLIBARAND I AM HOLDING PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR IRRESPONSBILE SPENDING. WHEN THE AMERICAN DOLLAR GOES UNDER I WONDER WHAT ALL THE PIE HOLES ARE GOING TO SAY. I THINK AFTER THIS BUGET DEAL ITS TO LATE . GOD HELP AMERICAN. I SEE ALL THE FOOD LINES AND INFLATION AND DEFAULT.
This whole deal is an embarassment. Obama will now give a speech declaring he was for these cuts in spending all the time. Also he will be demonizing the rich and declaring they must pay more taxes, you know, their fair share. Why is there never of a mention of Franklin Raines, his buddy that took a sweet 70 million when he left Freddy Mac? The Republicans had better NOT vote to raise the debt ceiling AGAIN. That is why their is a ceiling. As they approach it, they must curb their spending BEFORE is is reached. We do not have a revenue problem, we have a SPENDING problem. Boehner and Republicans, BEWARE.
Boehner is a sell out. There must have been a threat, bullying or secret promise in that behind door
meeting. Boehner only cares about his tan and how he looks. Forget the crying anymore, it "aint"
gonna work next time.
Hate to rain on anybody's parade, but according to the Bible there is a first-born blood covenant in the Bible and it also is written that the first(Cain) will be last, and the last(Able) will be first to be resurrected! Note: O'bama's promised "fundamental transformation" of our government promised our more verbal sex knew that met Marxism(as Islam, Anti-Christ), I'm sure! Now, "you" know what the rest of the story of Eve was all about("intellectualizing")! Watch!
This was no compromise! We the American Tax Payers have been done in once again by The Democrats & Republicans. I think we need to seriously consider a Third Party now!
