The Catholic Bishops Vs. Obama? Justice Ginsberg Vs. Our “Rather Old Constitution”?

obama and catholics1 The Catholic Bishops vs. Obama? Justice Ginsberg vs. our Rather Old Constitution?

I’ve gotten some very interesting emails regarding President Obama’s mandate commanding Roman Catholics (and many evangelical Protestants) to violate their consciences by providing mandatory contraception, sterilization, and abortion-inducing pharmaceuticals. The emailers noted that Obama’s action will force Catholics to challenge the president in court, particularly given that bishops are saying they will not comply with the law. It could mean another constitutional showdown over “Obama-care,” one that could likewise end up in the Supreme Court. Imagine: The Catholic Bishops v. Obama.”

What a fitting capstone to the Obama presidency. And imagine that a majority of professing Roman Catholics elected this man in November 2008.

If this issue goes to the high court, I wouldn’t bet my money on Obama, even with the two new “pro-choice,” pro-Roe liberals he added to the bench: Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor. Even the most “progressive” Supreme Court justice cannot avoid that old freedom-of-religion thing in the First Amendment.

All of that is remarkable enough. But I find it especially ironic given two other fascinating current news item relating to the Constitution:

Last week, President Obama did an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer. Obama expressed frustration at his inability to be the “transformational political figure” Americans elected. The “change agent” lamented that this was the fault of the American Founders—who Obama refers to as “men of property and wealth”—and their Constitution. Obama told Lauer:

What’s frustrated people is that I have not been able to force Congress to implement every aspect of what I said in 2008. Well, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change that I would like sometimes. But what I have been able to do is move in the right direction. And what I’m going to keep on doing is plot away, very persistent.

Ah, that old Constitution again.

Obama is quite correct. His primary obstacle is the Founders’ system of separation of powers and checks and balances. His problem is a Congress and Supreme Court that is empowered to say, “No, Mr. President, that isn’t constitutional. You can’t do that in America.”

Well, Obama’s mandate to the Catholic Church could be the next such challenge, again impeding his self-perceived rise to transcendent political greatness. A Democrat-controlled Congress approved Obama-care, but the Supreme Court now must scrutinize its provisions. That’s the court’s duty.

That brings me to the second news item:

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg gave an interview to Egyptian television. Ginsburg will likely be the next justice to step down. Once Obama replaces her with a much younger pro-Roejudge, this nation will have Roe v. Wade for another 39 years. In the interview, Ginsburg advised Middle East democrats on drafting a constitution. She did not, however, recommend the U.S. Constitution. Ginsburg stated:

I can’t speak about what the Egyptian experience should be, because I’m operating under a rather old constitution. The United States, in comparison to Egypt, is a very new nation; and yet we have the oldest written constitution still in force in the world…

I would not look to the U.S. Constitution if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, and had an independent judiciary… It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recently than the U.S. Constitution, Canada has a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It dates from 1982. You would almost certainly look at the European Convention on Human Rights. Yes, why not take advantage of what there is elsewhere in the world?

Actually, why not take advantage of what’s in the U.S. Constitution? The paradox in Ginsburg’s statement is her dismissal of the U.S. Constitution because it’s “rather old;” in fact, “the oldest written constitution still in force in the world.”

Well, why is it so old and still in force? Because it was done right. It is based on timeless values and virtues and universal rights that work; that are true. It has been amended less than 30 times in 220-some years. It is the most stable, successful, remarkable constitution in history, bringing together a vast array of peoples and assimilating them into history’s most prosperous, awe-inspiring nation—a nation that spent the 20th century winning freedom for other nations, so those nations could produce democracies and constitutions. The U.S. Constitution is the perfect model, at once both beautifully broad and specific.

And among the things it got right are separation of powers and checks in balances. Ruth Bader Ginsburg and President Obama may be learning that again very soon—compliments of Obama-care and its constitutional assault on the consciences of religious believers.

The whole Democratic Party disgusts me! Who died and made Obama King? He’s where he is now because of the Constitution! He and all those like him should be exiled to a place where they cam be gods and kings and the like. The United States did pretty well for almost two hundred years and has degenerated to its present state in the last fifty.

I am Roman Catholic, but I did not vote for Obozo. As soon as I heard “wealth redistribution” in the debates, I knew darn well he was a COMMUNIST (Definition of wealth redistribution: “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” Karl Marx.). I have since gotten sufficient probable cause to believe, based on his conduct in the White House, and whom he kisses up to, that he is also a closet sodomite and a closet Muslim.

I have already gotten nasty-grams from Clarabelle (Howdy Doody Show), Krusty (The Simpsons), Ronald McDonald, and Bozo The Clown about this characterization, but I will use it anyway. Stepping on the toes of 77 million Roman Catholics by telling them they have to pay for a health care system that funds abortions may be what it takes to kick Obozo The Clown out on his fundament from the White House.

Obozo and Ginsberg should both look for a place where they could and can be more happy. Each of them took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. If they are not eager to do this, then get the hell out of our system, totally! GO AWAY! Far away!!!

I could never understand why people like Ginsberg and others, like alot of democrats that I have heard talk down our precious Constitution that many, many of our Brothers and sisters from the Revolutiont= to Iraq/Afganistan has sacrificed their lives for so that we the people could live in Freedom, and now besides all this talk against our Constitution, our own President runs all over it just so that he can say, look what I did, and none of you can’t or won’t do anything about it, because I’m the President of this US of A. They talk down the way America has lived for hundreds of years, instead of just packing up their families, like the Legal Immagrants have been doing for years to come to this great and beautiful land that God Himself gave to us, so that they could live in the Freedom, they could just go to that place that fits their political views. But, for this so called supreme court justice to go to a land that harbors their muslim life style and talks down our America. Ginsberg should be impeach from the justice if she fells the way she does. I don’t trust her, that is probly why alot of cases on abortion and other major issues lost because of her bozo way of interpreting our Constitution. Let’s just make live simpler for her and impeach the word that rymes with Mitch that starts with a B then maybe she will move to that place were she loves their constitution.

How in blazes was Ginsburg ever appointed to the Supreme Court? Doesn’t she understand the job description of the Supreme Court Justice? Her job is to compare local, state, and federal statutes, and even Obozo executive orders, against the Constitution. If there is a conflict with any of these and the Constitution, the Supreme Court declares them UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Her job is to compare it with the Constitution and ONLY the Constitution, not political correctness, other laws, foreign laws, foreign court decisions, and the sort of horse hockey being pushed by Obozo, Soros, and other anti-Americans.

She should also be aware of the fact that the Constitution was and is designed to implement restrains on the government. The Bill of Rights recognizes God-given rights of individuals, and was added to enhance the Constitution. To give an example, the First Amendment was not intended to protect people from religion. People can choose to participate or not participate. Recognition of a Supreme Being, our Creator cited in the Declaration of Independence, does not rise to the level of declaring, for example, the Roman Catholic Church as the official state religion, or declaring the President as the head of the U.S. Church in the same manner as the Queen of England is the titular head of the Anglican Church. The First Amendment, with respect to religion, was intended to protect religion from the government and government interference in the manner that Obozo is telling the Catholic Church that they must support funding of abortions and that Catholic hospitals must perform abortions.

    Wow! What an explosive quote!!!
“What’s frustrated people is that I have not been able to force Congress
to implement every aspect of what I said in 2008.”
WOW! It isn’t THE PEOPLE who are frustrated. It is his administration that is frustrated!!! The President should NEVER be able to FORCE anyone to do anything!!! For him to imply that has been an expectation tells me that he doesn’t understand what America is all about. But that is only the beginning of his problem.
“Well, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult
to bring about change that I would like sometimes.”
Well, duh!!! Of course the did! The government isn’t there for one person to push his opinion on others.
“But what I have been able to do is move in the right direction.”
What has this guy got up his nose? It obviously is a lot more difficult than he wants for a reason. It is because the Founding Fathers didn’t want a President to be able to dictate to the people. Here is the problem. Being elected doesn’t make someone able to lead. Leadership is independent of – and in many respects is counter to – the office. Leadership is a quality that a person has. Being elected to office makes a person a servant!!! This is hard to get sometimes, but it is the truth. Think of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet. That is what a servant is. And in Jesus’ case, he was a servant-leader – a blend between of the best qualities of both.
“And what I’m going to keep on doing is plot away, very persistent.”
This has got to be the most amazing part of the whole quote. It is a Freudian slip if there ever was one. Obama has been PLOTTING to overthrow this nation’s world leadership – and he has made that clear!!! He is persistently plotting!!! He isn’t “PLODDING” – doing exhausing physical labor to achieve through gradual changes/improvements. He has been PLOTTING – the image of mobsters sitting in smoke-filled back rooms, with the Don sitting at the head of the table, and his lieutennants planning the next bank job…

Wake up, America. This is YOUR country. It does not belong to those with non-American citizenship who serve more than one master – none of whom are the American public. It does not beling to “our leaders” who think they can do and tell us what they want. It is YOUR country. Take it back!!!

Ginsberg should be impeached and removed from her justice position immediately. Out of her own mouth are the proclamations that prove her to be seditious and anti-American to the point of being unqualified. The founders drew up the Constitution with the fear and hatred of tyrants, monarchs and dictators. They intentionally made it “difficult” for Obama to implement his anti-American and anti-freedom agenda because in their wisdom and foresight they saw the potential of a president like Obama arising and wanted to give the American people enough time and opportunity to correct a mistake like allowing a tyrant like him rising to the office of the presidency. I hope and pray we take advantage of this opportunity.

Justice Ginsberg took an oath to support and defend, she considers the old Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; and bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and should be removed from office for her statement..
