This is the end of Hostess Bakery Company. It was started in 1930 and died a few days after Barack Obama was reelected. The smiles have barely left the faces of his supporters, and now thousands of them across the country are being fired and laid-off.
“We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike. Hostess Brands will move promptly to lay off most of its 18,500-member workforce and focus on selling its assets to the highest bidders.” With these 45 words, the world has been turned upside down for “proud and determined” union members who were going to “show Hostess how things will be from now on.”
Instead, they got a smack across the nose and a clear lesson about how an economy really works. These 18,500 people have been led into a strike they never had a chance of winning. They foolishly believe Obamanomics works because their leaders told them so. Commies and union leaders lie.
The unions involved were thoroughly warned that a strike would mean the end of Hostess, but alas they didn’t care. They had just reelected their president – so what could go wrong? Hostess would be forced to remain in business to provide them with jobs – wouldn’t they?
Because they are liberal Democrats, these people know nothing about how wealth is created and don’t really care. All they know is if you have wealth, they will find a way to take it. They are child-like in their understanding of wealth. They are like five-year olds who don’t believe “mommy has no money” because they saw a ten dollar bill in her purse.
There are those who will rejoice over these layoffs, which come just in time for Thanksgiving. The far Left wants to keep rocking America until she is upended and has to be redesigned. They are just as clueless as the union thugs. In the short-run, things will be very bad; but the one thing we have that they don’t understand is the American Spirit. America may fall, but she won’t be down for long. We understand this, and they don’t; but they will sooner than later.

What’s happening with Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with America, as Bain-style Wall Street vultures make themselves rich by making America poor. Crony capitalism and consistently poor management drove Hostess into the ground, but its workers are paying the price. Only Obama and Elizabeth Warren can crush the greed that’s destroying America.

I have no problem with union members striking over legitimate grievances but to strike over wages and benefits in the face of the economic uncertainty created by obamacare and 68 new regulations per day seems unwise at best, and just plain stupid at the worst. But, not to worry, the union showed Hostess what’s what, that fact that it came at the expense of 18,500 of its workers notwithstanding. You obviously think that that Hostess executives are greedy. My take on this is that the union executives and bosses are not only greedy, but on a power trip. And what are obama and Elizabeth “Faucahontas” Warren going to do about it other than decree that corporations must cave to the unions even though it will surely drive them out of business.
The unions thought they had the upper hand in putting the screws on Hostess, a privately owned company…Well, Hostess had had enough, they were honest about the layoffs that would happen, and why should the company work its butt off for less profits , and then have to cope with greedy Obamacare as well as striking workers who were not grateful enough in these hard times of unemployment, to even have a job…well, now 18,500 of them can enjoy thanksgiving on the government teat, they got what they voted for…

You can’t be serious. Is this some form of sarcasm that very few of us will understand? I hope so, because if not, this is the most idiotic statement I’ve heard since the DNC. You seriously think it was Crony Capitalism that drove the company into the ground? No, Crony Capitalism is your boy barack giving $90B to green energy companies that no one in the private sector would invest in because it’s not what people want. Mismanagement may have played a part in it: they should’ve layed off all the union workers years ago and moved to a right to work state. Maybe they will. Maybe they’ll have enough money to open a factory in SC or AL where people actually want to work. I guess this is the union’s way of saying Merry Christmas.

The union wanted for money , but , being in high from their God , they thought that Hostess was pulling the ” we aren’t making tonnes of money ” . The recession isn’t over , and what Hussein and his Lackey’s are telling you . All the Hussein was telling America had turned the corner , from Aug. to Last month , the unemployment dropped from 8.1 % , to 7.9 % . There were lying . You can’t create 5 million jobs in 3 months . And , the last report , that the government giving every month , rose back to 8.1% this month . Now , wait , Hussein will blame Hurricane for that .
And , last Friday was the first time that Hussein talked to the press , in over 8 months . Then he came back with the ” the wealthy have to do their part . It’s time to raise the taxes for them ” , as soon he said that , 158 companies laid off their working . You are blaming Hostess for being greedy ? No , my friend , it was the union .

For far too long the financial engines of the country have bent over and grabbed their ankles to satisfy the insatiable demands and excesses of the democrat/race/union thugocracy and in an indirect way, by acceding to the shake-downs and black-mail, have contributed to the present decline. I’ve believed for a long time that the only chance of America surviving this catastrophe is if the job creators – the corporations – find some cajones and do just what Hostess’s has done. We know the Republican “opposition” (ha ha what a laugh) don’t have the testicular fortitude to do the job.
It appears that the only way to mend this almost-broken country is to break it altogether, let the diseased branches – the leftist sucklers and takers – die off (come to their senses) so that the strong, healthy producers take root again and rebuild from scratch.
I would like to see every corporate CEO wake up to these realities and say “enough is enough” and tell the commie imbeciles “we won’t participate any longer in your socialist nightmare, either you get out of way, or we’ll shut up shop”
There will be heartbreak and struggle and probably blood in the streets when the flow of reparations and freebies is stanched due to the drying up of tax revenues etc., – but there is going to be that anyway. Doing it their way, little by little till they bleed us dry will take us down with them. Doing it this way we at least can preserve the ability to be able to pick up the pieces when the fighting ends.

Man, you and I must have been switched at birth. I can add almost nothing except we need to pray that what is coming leaves enough of the old America to be the foundation for the new structure. The bottomline is management had a settlement with the unions but the bakers wanted more. The CEO said yesterday that he doubts any other bread company would pick-up the brand because they’re bogged down in their own brands and financial issues. He also said the only answer they saw was to sell off the equipment and lock the door behind them. Because of this all 18,500 workers across the country lost their jobs. I would think there are a lot of angry people today.
Sorry to say this, and, hear of this,,, but, SHEEPLE NEED TO WAKE UP!!!! Right now, if you Have a Job, Try to Keep it instead of Going on Strike when there are So many that are Begging for Jobs…At this point, people should not even Think about Striking, they should be Glad that they Even Have a Job!! I heard a radio top of the hour news report today. Often local TV and radio reporting, especially when they interview “the common man/woman” tend to get a bit silly, especially if you think of it as actual news reporting. Hostess will be laying off about 200 in state. The woman interviewed said, “How could they do this to people so close to the holidays?” She was blaming Hostess, for God’s sake. Probably an Obama voter. Sad how many people are totally stupid to how business really works.
The Communist Left and their Union thug lackeys DEPEND on such ignorance. John Q and Jane Q Public have been lied to so often for so long and brainwashed so far beyond redemption that such responses are automatic. The “guy in the street” has become conditioned to believe that pay checks and pay raises come out of inexhaustible company vaults and government printing presses.

During the Revolution, support for the war was split about a third for independence to a third to remain loyal to Britain to a third who basically just wanted to be left alone. The weight of the righteous cause inspired by the principled thinking of a few great men tipped the balance toward the founding of this once great nation, even though they were outnumbered in their own country without even considering the British. Americans who understand and love our country, its Constitution, and the spirit and principles of its founding are now clearly a minority; if left only to a popular vote, considering the banality and the absence of the ability to think critically within most of the population, and the massive voter fraud perpetrated by DemonRats while the clueless and gutless Republicans stood by and said and did nothing, we have already lost our country. It is my fervent hope that hundreds, even thousands, of medium to large companies will do whatever it takes to reject Obuma’s attempted takeover of private and corporate businesses through his union thugs. Hostess is to be congratulated. We need to put at least 20,000,000 union workers on the street – today! They are communist front organizations which exist to eliminate free-market enterprises by turning then into government controlled entitlement providers.
So , Hostess told the union that they can’t afford to give you more money . The union said ” you might be able to lie to some people , but , this is the union ” . Well , where are they now ? The only question that I have , is Hussein going to sue Hostess ? And , remember , Hussein told the unions , that they don’t have to post when they will be laid off . two months ago ? He said , if the workers right , ( the State ) , takes you to court , My Adm. will back you up . We’ll even pay for the court cost . He was telling the union , to break the law . The union will ask the court to tell Hostess to let them look at the books . If that happens , it’s going be a long time before Hostess can sell their machines , and recipes . Because the union thinks that if they want more money , then it’s members will get it . Whether you got the money or not .
Hostess is a microcosm of what will soon happen in this country. The trickle down effect of 18,500 unemployed people will be staggering. However that will be nothing in comparison of what is looming over the horizon a Obama’s military cutbacks begin to kick in. Stop and think of the impact that 18,500 newly unemployed workers will have on America’s economy.
Hostess had thousands of trucks on the road delivering their goods all over the country, those trucks required maintenance (worker’s), those trucks requires tires and fuel (worker’s). The people that used to work at Hostess, shopped in their local stores (workers), they bought food at grocery stores, (workers), they paid their mortgages and or rent (workers). The list goes on and on as to the number of other people that are directly affected when a company with a large number of employes goes out of business.
In the case of Hostess, their executive management team saw the writing on the wall and were not either willing or financially able to comply with the demands of their Union worker’s. Know what Union Management has in common with our members of Congress, they both receive a great deal of money for virtually doing nothing to help the people that provide them with a luxurious lifestyle.
I read an article recently that outlined how some senior level Union bosses on the dock’s receive compensation hourly compensation 24/7 and the reason that they do is that they are on call, that my friend is an example of the corruption that is rampant throughout this country in Union’s.
Members of Congress receive $178,000.00, plus insane benefits, and they only are required to participate in minimal number of sessions per year. The rest of their time is spent in their districts trying to convince, their constituents to re elect them, when their two or six year term expires.
We also clearly saw how our members ofCongress did virtually nothing to protect the American people by them NOT honoring their oath of office by allowing Obama to refuse to turn over his Occidental and Harvard documents along with teh passport that he used to gain admission to those institutions of higher education.
To the ones that got an obama phone they soon will quit working and to the ones that got groceries to sell your vote for the boon. The food will soon be gone and to all the others that sold their vote, Broke the law and Voted twice and more you all can stop and think on what you have done by letting the boon steal the election when your job is gone and your kids are starving and you unemployment ran out.
