College Creates Plenty Of Debt But Not Much Skill

Our children’s opportunities to learn based on technological advances has been more than offset by the loss of appreciation of literature and the humanities – including history, theology, philosophy and even economics. Our old friend Jon T. Barton, a classical violinist wrote an 800 page 2 volume work called “The Bible in Western Literature.” He co-authored with attorney John Whitehead a 1981 book, “Schools on Fire” – a prophetic work warning of the now deplorable and unnecessarily expensive condition of American education.
I met a young man recently with a degree in “Environmental Studies” from screwball UCal/Santa Cruz, home of the Banana Slugs. His student loan is $90,000 and he still can’t get a job. His girlfriend has a degree in Psychology and is only $60,000 in debt and can’t get a job either. In a two class society, only the wealthy and their satraps will be able to get a college education.
My Grandson’s Saudi ex-roommate at University of Alaska/Anchorage rolled out his prayer mat then went out to play. He wasn’t hungry to learn so he was happy to return home to his Ferrari’s and servants – compliments of American technology and insane energy, environmental and foreign policies. The “progressives” have created the biggest educational jerk circle in history and we all let them get away with it. History hasn’t been kind to such nations and empires. We’re intelligent enough to turn it around, but are we wise enough?
With the prevailing attitude that every kid should go to college or he’s a loser, we’ve lost much of our ability to make things, provide employment for all skill and intellectual levels and to maintain infrastructure and beauty. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are classic examples of men who eschewed college to avoid stifling their creativity or be drawn into the perverse world of political correctness. I want my grandkids to think out of their own boxes before they get destroyed by academia and debt as they set their life goals.
My old Cockney friend Leon Shaw made a part for my rare Omega Sea Master watch when Omega in NY couldn’t fix it. He also repaired Big Ben in London and dozens of ancient fancy gold embellished clocks from Brentwood after the earthquake in LA. He even rebuilt a cheap Chinese lathe and converted it to a precision auto-feed miniature parts turning lathe. He made all the stable vortex flowmeter and nozzle parts we designed and tested. He was a displaced Brit after WWII when England took a dive like the “progressives” are doing to us now. Their brain drain helped improve our once vaunted “Yankee ingenuity” – now better known as “Yangtze ingenuity” for obvious reasons.
My boys made usable kitchen spatula’s at Bakersfield’s Chipman JHS in the 1970’s. They learned to measure, cut, file, bend, forge, drill, grind, carve, polish and rivet – all needed to make a simple wood-handled aluminum spatula. We still have one and use it regularly.
Our young people of all backgrounds must be our pride and joy. Our hope and prayer for them is to creatively apply their considerable gifts and talents while growing in wisdom and grace. Who could ask for anything more?
Alec Baldwin Uses “C-Word!”

Liberal heartthrob Alec Baldwin allegedly had a world-class Dem Crow attack where he recently called a Black New York Post photographer, among other things, a “coon.”
As if “drug dealer” and “crackhead” weren’t enough to call an American Black who’s also a retired NYPD officer?
Alec Baldwin used the “C-Word!” Will Obama and the Congressional Black Caucus ignore daily urban fratricide to banish him from Hollyweird liberaldom?
Not likely.
It warms my heart to see a high-profile member of the so-called “party of the little man” show just how little he always thought of the little man.
If true, don’t expect the pigmentary politburo ruling my figurative side of town (Black America) to fall over themselves chastising him.
That’s reserved for the likes of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and other conservative white men whom liberals of all colors feel are America’s only racists.
I wonder what Baldwin’s lame excuse will be for this tirade, while worried millions of dollars may possibly slip through his fingers?
Exhaustion?
Demonic possession?
OD?
Bi-polar disorder?
At day’s end (and I could be grievously wrong), nothing will happen because he’s a Hollyweird Democrat, and the mainstream media would have to demonstrate rare integrity to punish him on the merits of this allegation.
We’ll see.
If he did deploy the “C-Word”, he quoted from the old school Democrat handbook on what to call Black folks.
Way to go, Alec!
To quote a civil rights activist, Jesse Jackson, who may be allowed to address this case, “Keep Hope Alive!”

The World’s Greatest Welfare Recipients: Barack And Michelle Obama!

As most of the taxpayers in America are upset with the low information voters who game the welfare system and refuse to work an honest day in their life to contribute, one thing stands clear. They have great teachers.
Your typical professional welfare gamer has no problem using their food stamp card to purchase steak and lobster; we have seen this with our own eyes many times in the supermarket. They are handed free housing, free medical care, free child care for the many illegitimate children that they may have, cash assistance, and any other perk that may be available. All without working a day in their life.
Sound familiar? We have a man and his family (including his mother-in-law) living in a house that is owned by the American taxpayer, being fed with food supplied by the American taxpayer, who is able to party with the rich and famous on the American taxpayer’s dime and take separate vacations from his wife, also at the taxpayer’s expense.
Now for his work history. He was absent when Americans were being killed in Benghazi, Libya. He was absent and had to be brought in from the golf course during the Osama Bin Laden raid. He was absent from the funeral of the great American sniper Chris Kyle, who died while trying to help fellow vets. He has been absent from the conversations concerning America’s fiscal and employment problems. Instead, he concentrates on things that will give more perks to him and his fellow welfare recipients.
A short time ago, Rush Limbaugh referred to Barack Hussein Obama as “Santa Claus“. At this point, I beg to differ with Rush. Obama is just another welfare recipient; it is the American taxpayer who has become “Santa Claus.”
So as Obama continues to train up his fellow welfare recipients, all I can say at this point is to be sure to show up for work tomorrow because someone has to pay for it. As always, stay safe and be aware of your surroundings.

Liberation Means Making Peace With America
There are a lot of cultural cliches American Blacks must navigate.
One, the one I specialize in as a matter of fact, is escaping the cliche where we somehow are obligated to be “professionally angry” at White people ad infinitum.
My “Making Peace With America” emphasis addresses this unpleasant reality head-on. I note for community critics’ sake that Making Peace With America isn’t synonymous with making excuses for her shortcomings.
My activism includes copious complaints against Whites I or others alleged were racially biased. These complaints involved both the public and private sectors.
But, filing complaints against one group of people can’t be the extent of one’s relations with other Americans.
Common traditional values and an inclusive grassroots conservative culture has expanded my Make Peace With America coalition beyond anything professionally angry Black liberals could fathom.
I chuckle when these leftists accuse me of ignoring racism. The record speaks loudly to the contrary- plus, I address liberal racism too, which they don’t like.
One of many myriad forks in the road from progressives is my conclusion that being perpetually peeved is a poor substitute for acknowledging nigh miraculous progress in some areas and coalition building with like-minded souls who happen to be wrapped in different packaging.
Making peace, and keeping it, constitutes the one ingredient the absence of which no civilization can withstand.
Black culture, especially its lower income end, is awash in societal noise. Gunfire, raised voices, loud music, and sirens blaring drown out contemplation and serenity.
Extending this deficit to the outside community means a combative posture where crime and rudeness are considered today’s sad equivalent of civil rights activism.
Those who have yet to make peace with America content themselves to blame White Conservatives for all our ills.
Not all progressives fall in this category.
One progressive spokesman who I think has made peace with America is Dr. Cornel West, a Democratic Socialist who unfailingly calls everyone “brother” and “sister” (opponents Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck included.)
His liberal supporters ought to note this as they fume on camera at yet another “Blame Whitey!” press conference.
Absent staging an armed coup, being professionally angry is a poor substitute for effective problem-solving. It sells tickets, books, and videos but accomplishes nothing!
Making Peace With America for me means operating as an individual free of the limitations of a captive past.
As such, I take Americans (regardless of color) on a case-by-case basis as individuals, instead of tentacles from some collective.
It also means I don’t pull to my proverbial bosom human vipers I call chocolate Klansmen (urban thugs), sun-tanned socialists (Black liberal mouth pieces in office and out), and other enemies because of ethnicity.
Black liberals who run the phrase “Black liberation” into the ground should realize that liberation in its truest form means making peace with America.
If Congressman John Lewis, a liberal icon who was savagely beaten by police throughout his 1960s civil rights career, can make peace with America, what’s the excuse of younger blacks today?
Absent peace, our community and the country surrounding it falls from within.
That doesn’t seem very liberating to me.
