Minnesota: A Letter Of Indictment

The front: homosexual marriage. The end: schoolchildren.

This week, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton (labeled one of America’s worst senators by TIME) signed homosexual marriage legislation into un-law after the un-lawful House and Senate approved it. In concert, these branches of the Minnesota government have proven themselves to be in defiance against the laws of Nature and Nature’s God, as found in the Declaration of Independence. In the Minnesota Supreme Court chambers, a huge mural of Moses awaiting the Divine Law of God testifies to their faces that they are incompetent to serve ‘We the People’.

It is important to note the chronological history of what took place before this immoral, unconstitutional, unethical, and unlawful bill was signed:

On May 20, 2011, I was invited to deliver the opening prayer at the MN House session. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the MN House was planning to vote on a constitutional ban on homosexual marriage (decided by the people in the November elections), much like 32 states have already done. The capitol was packed with supporters and protesters of the ban, and media coverage was heavy on the subject.

Even though my prayer made no mention of homosexuality, I was denounced by then Speaker of the House Kurt Zellers, a corrupt Republican who has since lost his position. The media flocked around to interview me after my prayer. While I was preparing for a press conference, I was approached by diplomats such as Senator Paul Gazelka who begged me not to talk to the media, afraid that the measure would not pass if I did so. The president of the Minnesota Family Council told me they would have to “distance themselves” from me due to the fact that they felt they had all in hand, and that my prayer was such an offense.

These “diplomats” were more concerned about not hurting anyone’s feelings than they were about protecting our posterity. They thought the route of delicacy would win over radicals who were determined to silence religious freedom and implement a radical homosexual agenda.

Their diplomacy was their ruin.

In a state with massive voter fraud issues (please research the MN Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and his involvement with fraud), the ban on homosexual marriage was lost during the November elections (along with Voter ID). Minnesota Republicans voted Rick Santorum (a strong conservative) as their GOP Presidential candidate in the 2012 precincts, while the House, Senate, and Governor’s office became controlled by Democrats. If Minnesota Republicans are this conservative, how did they allow Democrats to be in control?

Once in session – before they even implemented a budget – both the House and Senate passed homosexual marriage. Coinciding with this bill was the “Safe and Supportive Minnesota Schools Act.”

Can you guess what was included in a large portion of this bill? That’s right! Anti-bullying policies… including gender identity and sexual orientation. Wait a second. I thought this was about homosexual marriage. Bullying has nothing to do with marriage. I obtained a copy of this bill. Under this Act, there will be an attempt for schools to be revolutionized to normalize homosexuality, and anyone who disagrees with sexually deviant behavior will be punished. This includes students’ behavior on or OFF campus BEFORE, during, and/or AFTER school hours. All staff and school volunteers will be forced to undergo annual training to ensure a “safe environment” for – let’s put it plainly – LGBT students. In other words, the state is attempting to take full control of the beliefs of the children of Minnesota, which is a UN global agenda.

During an interview on my radio broadcast this week, a former senator from Minnesota, Gretchen Hoffman, told us that pedophile groups such as NAMBLA (North American Man and Boy Love Association) will be asking for permission to lower the age of consent for sexual intercourse, just like Canada.

This is criminal behavior from people who are put into position to uphold the laws of our republic and protect the wellbeing of its citizens. Instead, they are targeting the young to be made a prey by lawless criminals.

Before this time, MN Senator John Marty (a pastor’s son) had been deceptively trying to circumvent the people and implement homosexual marriage. In 2010, I wrote a letter to all school districts as well as all state representatives in Minnesota, warning of the destructive consequences of the radical homosexual agenda. Here are portions of the letter:

We all agree that our posterity deserves the best education, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that our forefathers fought, bled and died for.  In order to preserve these freedoms, we must take care to uphold the laws and values that make a nation free indeed.  After all, freedom is not given to do what you want to do, but what you ought to do.

As public schools already face challenges in teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic, intense pressure from the radical homosexual agenda is forcing schools to deal with a number of issues never before presented. There has been major attempts to normalize the homosexual lifestyle through education curriculum such as Comprehensive Sex Education, Anti-Bullying Policies, and the such (even going so far as to attempt to normalize bestiality). While the mainstream media wants to make this lifestyle out to be normal, healthy behavior, we want to make you aware of the actual statistics linked to this dangerous behavior:

  • Captain William Riddle of the Los Angeles Police says, “30,000 sexually abused children in Los Angeles were victims of homosexuals”.
  • About 1/3 of all sexual abuse cases among children are committed by homosexuals, and about ½ of all such cases among foster children are committed by homosexual providers. Please consider that less than 2% of America is gay.
    • 50% of the calls to a hotline to report “queer bashing” involved domestic violence (i.e., homosexuals beating up other homosexuals).
    • 33% of homosexuals ADMIT to minor/adult sex.
    • There is a notable homosexual group, consisting of thousands of members, known as the North American Man and Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). This is a child molesting homosexual group whose cry is “SEX BEFORE 8 BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.” This group can be seen marching in most major homosexual parades across the United States.
    • Homosexuals commit about 33% of all reported child molestations in the United States.
    • 73% of all homosexuals have had sex with boys under 19 years of age.
    • Many homosexuals admit that they are pedophiles: “The love between men and boys is at the foundation of homosexuality”. At least 20% of homosexuals approve of homosexual sex between children and adults.
    • Because homosexuals can’t reproduce naturally, they resort to recruiting children. Homosexuals can be heard chanting “TEN PERCENT IS NOT ENOUGH, RECRUIT, RECRUIT, RECRUIT” in their homosexual parades. A group called the “Lesbian Avengers” prides itself on trying to recruit young girls. They print “WE RECRUIT” on their literature. Some other homosexuals aren’t as overt about this, but rather try to infiltrate society and get into positions where they will have access to the malleable minds of young children (e.g., the clergy, teachers, Boy Scout leaders, [Jerry Sandusky,] etc.). See the DC Lesbian Avengers web page, and DC Lesbian Avengers Press Release, where they threaten to recruit little boys and girls.

Sadly, we could list many, many more statistics regarding the homosexual lifestyle and their crimes.

As a ministry that is committed to upholding the morals and values [as well as the laws of our republic] that make us a great nation, we have been a faithful-mouthpiece on our nationally syndicated radio program with multiple thousands of listeners.  It is our job to educate America regarding who is upholding our Constitution, and who is not.  We urge you to be aware of the statistics regarding this subject, in order to produce an environment of the healthy, quality education that our nation’s youth deserve.

Thank you for your time, and we trust you will do what is necessary for the security of our nation, our posterity, and our freedom.

After seeing these violations, I hope you can understand why God calls homosexuality an abomination.

Minnesota has ignored these warnings to their own demise. If any of our students are punished for their beliefs or violated by perverted, sexually deviant criminals, Minnesota’s schools and state representatives should be and will be held legally accountable.

A preacher friend of mine just reminded me where the state of Minnesota just put themselves: “Throw rocks at God, and you will learn how gravity works.”

The “Electability” Myth

Karl Rove SC The “Electability” Myth

Much has been said and written regarding Karl Rove and the Republican Party establishment’s latest plan to go harder after conservatives than they ever would Democrats. And I’ve had much to say about it myself.

But I’ve yet to see anyone question the premise of the phony argument Rove is hiding behind to justify his crusade to purge the GOP of anybody who won’t grovel at the feet of the ruling class (which is what Rove’s pro-establishment Jihad is really all about). See, in Rove’s world, if you actually have principles and want to defeat Democrats and not just negotiate the terms of liberty’s surrender, you’re a “nutcase.”

Rove claims he’s out to find “electable” candidates. Well, who isn’t? Of course, all of us want to win elections. The candidate you’re supporting doesn’t get to act on any of the principles he’s running on if he doesn’t win. Nothing in politics is more crushing than losing on election night when you’ve spent your time, talent, and treasure on behalf of a candidate who’s a champion of your principles. So for Rove and the establishment to claim they’re the only ones concerned about “electability” is patronizing at best and disingenuous at worst.

Besides, how do we define “electability?” Furthermore, how come we allow the very people who oppose our ideas and principles to define who is and who isn’t “electable?” Should the General Manager of the Boston Red Sox consult with the New York Yankees front office on personnel decisions? Maybe Auburn’s new football coach should call Alabama’s Nick Saban and get his take on whom to recruit?

“Electability” is a ruling class fallacy, both on the right and the left. It’s essentially the political equivalent to Jim Crow laws, aimed at stifling the potential for upward mobility of those in the grassroots who would challenge the ruling class’ status quo. Despite all their public hand-wringing and pandering, they don’t really reach out to minorities for all the same reasons they don’t really reach out to their own base. They are adherents to the “Golden Rule,” which is he who has the gold gets to make all the rules. They may speak of a “big tent”; but really, they crave the small tent where they remain in charge of their own little fiefdom, crumbling infrastructure and all. Ironically, it’s been we in the base they hate that has diversified the GOP. Where did Ted Cruz, Allen West, and Tim Scott (just to name a few) come from?

Rove and his cronies are like modern day “old money” blue-bloods, condescendingly peering down their noses at the emerging “new money” entrepreneurs who weren’t born into the aristocracy as they were. That’s why they go after us harder than they go after them. We are a threat to their power base in a way they aren’t because we actually want to topple a spoils system both sides of the ruling class are profiteering from. The only argument Rove and his Boss Tweed-wannabes have with the Left is who the check with the people’s money gets written out to. They don’t see this as a clash of worldviews with the very survival of the Constitutional Republic at stake. They see this merely as a battle of dueling self-interests.

Thus, to allow Rove and those supporting his efforts by funding them or providing a platform for them to determine who is and who isn’t “electable” isn’t just dangerous; it’s also as foolish as allowing the liberal media to do it. In fact, you’ll notice that Rove and his cabal often draw the same conclusions about “electability” as the liberal media.

That’s not a coincidence.

Both sides have a mutual interest in not challenging the status quo. Both sides range from skeptical to hostile to our moral viewpoint. Then there’s simple economics. The media has lots of unsold ad inventory nowadays, and Rove and his kind of candidates can provide the revenue to purchase it. In this last election cycle, Rove’s cabal spent over $100 million on various establishment candidates, with just a 1% success rate. That means Rove and his acolytes are the perfect clientele for the liberal media. They help sell out their spot blocks and lose elections to Democrats at the same time.

The late P.T. Barnum would have a word for Rove and (especially) those underwriting his failed efforts—suckers.

I remember sharing a green room with Rick Santorum at the National Federation of Republican Assemblies conference about six weeks before the 2012 Iowa Caucuses. As we were each waiting for our opportunity to speak, Santorum shared with me his lament that his former employer, Fox News, didn’t think he was electable enough to send a reporter to cover his campaign. At that point, Santorum was mired in the low single digits in the polls.

Six weeks later, Santorum won the Iowa Caucuses and then went on to win 11 states during the 2012 Republican presidential primary campaign.

Again, who gets to determine who is and who isn’t “electable?” Is there an objective standard for “electability” as there is for many of the principles and causes we believe in? The answer is no, which is why Rove and the establishment like that subjective standard. It’s a moving target they can alter at their whim, aided and abetted by liberals who for different reasons want us defeated as well.

Santorum Takes Up Fight Against Hagel Nomination

Rick Santorum speech 4 SC Santorum takes up fight against Hagel nomination

WASHINGTON (OfficialWire) — Republican opposition to Chuck Hagel as the next defense secretary swelled from inside and outside the Senate Thursday as a former Senate colleague launched a campaign to block his nomination.

Rick Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator who served for a decade with Hagel, said his grassroots organization, Patriot Voices, will lead a nationwide campaign to stop Hagel from succeeding Leon Panetta as head of the Pentagon.

“While I respect Sen. Hagel’s service to America, I cannot stand by and support his nomination,” Santorum said in a statement. “His anti-Israel, pro-Iran mindset makes him uniquely unqualified to serve as our Defense secretary.”

Hagel, nominated Monday by President Barack Obama, has faced criticism that he is soft on Iran and weak in his support for Israel. Pushing back in private meetings with defense officials, he has told them this week that he backs strong international sanctions against Iran and believes all options, including military action, should be on the table.

Are You A Sangerite Or A Sorosian?

Margaret Sanger SC Are you a Sangerite or a Sorosian?

“Hey man, get with it; it’s the 21st Century!” The cry of the hip crowd rings hollow when reading a 90-year-old writing by one of the “progressives” great heroines: Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger. She was a famous eugenist, whose goal was “racial and ethnic cleansing.” She is greatly admired by Hillary Rodham Clinton, our current Secretary of State, who learned at Wellesley that marriage was a means for men to control women and that children must be raised by the state. Sanger wanted to get rid of Catholics, Latinos, Blacks, and other darker-skinned people.

Margaret Sanger. The Pivot of Civilization, 192 – Chapter on “The Cruelty of Charity,” pages 116, 122, and 189. Swarthmore College Library Edition:

Today eugenics is suggested by the most diverse minds as the most adequate and thorough avenue to the solution of racial, political and social problems…. I think you must agree … that the campaign for birth control is not merely of eugenic value, but is practically identical with the final aims of eugenics … Birth control propaganda is thus the entering wedge for the eugenic educator.

Sound like today’s news? Did you wonder why Catholic Cardinal Tim Dolan stood up to the President when he demanded that the Church change its doctrines on life issues for the unconstitutional Obamacare? And Rick Santorum is vilified as an idiot Vatican lackey? Or why the Democrats staged the phony hearing to tape Sandra Fluke when Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) wouldn’t allow her unvetted substitution for another “progressive” mouthpiece? And they blame Rush Limbaugh? And she speaks as a wise seeress at the Democrat National convention!

Eugenicist Dr. Peter Singer is an adviser to President Obama. Michelle Obama is a strong supporter of partial birth abortion. Kathleen Sebelius believes that “reduced pregnancies compensate for the cost of contraception!” Other Czars like Ezekiel Emanuel want a drastic reduction in the human population to “save the planet.” Are they all nuts? Currency manipulator George Soros backs these efforts in order to achieve his one-world government “Open Society” under any law but the Constitution – read Sharia Law – which only the elite exempt themselves from.

No mysteries here.

• A Sangerite is a person or group gripped in the Culture of Death. A Sangerite places little or no value on human life, whether for relief from responsibility; vengeance; labor, racial, or ethnic domination; experimentation; or environmental purity. Killing, thinking one is doing one’s God a service, is also death worship.

• A Sorosian is an individual or group enticed and funded by a convicted felon (in France in 2002), international currency manipulator and hedge fund manager George Soros, whose goal through his Open Society Institute is creating a one-world government after destroying the American economy.

Even churches have demanded that government replace them to be the dispenser of the Corporal Works of Mercy in the name of social justice. It has morphed into spiritual warfare instead of spirited debate and resolution. The Spiritual Works of Mercy are now in play as Judeo-Christian norms and values are attacked on every front.

Is the Sorosian an unwitting disciple of George Soros? A self-proclaimed atheist, Soros once described himself as a kind of trinity—financier, philanthropist, and philosopher. This “trinity” is also backing faux religious groups claiming to be Catholic or Christian. MoveOn.org, The Tides Foundation, Apollo Alliance, SEIU, and over 100 patriotic-sounding movements are designed to bring down the American system of Constitutional government and its support infrastructure of churches and church-developed and sponsored institutions – schools, hospitals, care facilities, etc. Millions of dollars go into campaigns for “social justice” issues Republicans aren’t supposed to talk about: various “rights” or totalitarian health, education, and welfare.

The most pitiful victim to date is the Democrat Party, which has lost its underpinnings with the help of Soros’ intrusions and is adrift on a sea of immorality, corruption, and lies. The Obama Administration and its Soros-backed czars have worn out their welcome but will not go away without a fight… the “American Spring?”

God is raising up wise spiritual leaders and wiser voters. We have a great nation and our children to save.

GOP’s Problem Is Not The Message, It Is Ground Organization

Republican Elephant 2 SC GOPs problem is not the message, it is ground organization

For several weeks, politicians and pundits from the beltway to newsrooms have analyzed the results and implications of this historic election. While some make valid points, few have articulated the real reasons why Republicans didn’t fare as well as they hoped. Even fewer have given a direction for what it takes to be successful going forward.

Working on both the Mitt Romney campaign as his national coalitions director and the Rick Santorum campaign as his national campaign manager, perhaps I have a unique perspective. As a coach on the field understands better than an announcer in the booth why his team lost, the same applies in politics.

For the past decade, our country has been in a political flux, with the partisan pendulum swinging sharply from the left to right election after election. Nov. 6 looked to be a culmination of this with Republicans coming off a very successful midterm election in 2010 and a President who remained unpopular.

We were greatly mistaken. As the millions spent on the airwaves by both parties in critical swing states became white noise and each candidate made his own mistakes throughout the race, it is clear that this election was won on the strength of a superior ground operation.

While Republicans became overconfident from their successes in the last midterm, Democrats buckled down immediately and began to identify their voters. To those saying the GOP must water down and moderate its platform, let us remember that not once did those on the political left moderate their policies. Rather, they began by systematically revving up each section of their base.

Dreaming Of Barack Obama’s Forced Retirement

Barack Obama speech 4 SC Dreaming of Barack Obama’s Forced Retirement

With Hamas’ rockets falling on Israel, massive layoffs decimating American families’ finances, and Barack Obama demanding massive tax increases (otherwise threatening to drive us over the fiscal cliff), we cannot help but daydream about four years from now.  We dream of days when Barack Obama will finally be retired and when his ignorance of economics will no longer plague our homeland.

We don’t want to think about the pain of the present. Let’s focus on a better, brighter future that is possible once the blight of Obama is gone. Who will step forward in 2016 and ask to lead America?

For the Democratic Party, the answer is clear. Joe Biden has all but declared he will run again. Maybe this time, he will have a leg up as the presumptive heir of the Obama legacy. But if our hunches are correct, it will be even harder to blame George W. Bush for the stagnant economy that is likely to persist.

Next on the Democratic team will be Hillary Clinton. She will still be in her 60’s and can still muster the energy for a run. She and Bill haven’t stopped dreaming about reclaiming their old house since the day they stepped out of it in January 2001.

On the Republican side, it is harder to read the tea leaves.  The best place to start is with those who lost to Mitt Romney in 2012.

We believe Senator Rick Santorum will return from the 2012 line-up. Santorum was a surprisingly strong finisher in Iowa, and he took an underfunded campaign and challenged Mitt Romney deep into the primary season. He rallied conservatives of all stripes. He is strong with social conservatives, economic conservatives, and foreign policy conservatives. Plus, he has the benefit of an ongoing organization. Santorum is now traveling the country keeping his supporters engaged and involved.

After Santorum, the most popular of the challengers was Ron Paul. Paul is likely too old, but he has a son in the United States Senate who could pick up his father’s mantel and libertarian-leaning supporters.  Senator Rand Paul went out of his way in 2012 to endorse Mitt Romney and travel coast to coast helping Republican candidates lower down the ticket. He has a savvy political team in place; and if he should run, we believe he will do even better in the primaries than his father.

Another contender who merits close watching ran in 2008, but he skipped 2012. We are speaking of Governor Mike Huckabee. Still in the public eye because of his highly-rated FOX NEWS TV show, Huckabee has stayed engaged in politics by helping dozens of candidates through HUCK Pac, his political action committee.  Huckabee is tireless and travels making speeches relentlessly.

Huckabee also may have an advantage based on the issues. Mike Huckabee is an expert on Israel and Mideast politics. If Israel survives four more years of neglect by Barack Obama, it will likely be fighting for its life against the forces of radical Islam. If Iran gets nuclear weapons, they would be tempted to use them against Israel. Huckabee can speak with clarity and vision on the problems of this region, and he likely could help foster peace in the region.

Lastly, we don’t know if  Senator Marco Rubio of Florida will run, but he would make a great candidate. Rubio is the Republican Party’s best-known Hispanic leader. He is loved by the Tea Party, and he has a voting record that any conservative could love. Marco would have to give up seeking re-election to the US Senate, but it is a possibility.

Dreaming of 2016 sure beats thinking about the ongoing slow motion wreck happening in Washington DC under the stewardship of Barack Obama. We hope the time passes quickly.

A Fork In The Road, Part I

Barack Obama speech 4 SC A Fork in the Road, Part I

Note—This is the first in a two-part series on where things stand following the 2012 election cycle. Part 2 will focus on where we stand spiritually. Part 1 is about where we stand politically.

New York Yankees great Yogi Berra once famously observed, “When you come to a fork in the road—take it.”

And that is exactly what the conservative movement, as well as the Republican Party, is now forced to do. The only question following yet another election loss to Barack Obama is which one?

The very same people that have shoved Mitt McDoles down our throats for decades now will re-emerge from the ruling class to tell us that Mitt Romney was too conservative (I know, I laughed out loud, too), so we have to abandon whatever shred of conservatism actually still exists within the Republican Party leadership to win.

Yet we now know that is a pernicious lie.

Romney did everything the cynical Karl Rove wing of the party says Republicans have to do to win. He abandoned his base when he said the grassroots uprising standing up for Chick-fil-a was “not a part of my campaign,” and he joined the liberal dog pile on Todd Akin. He played it safe and didn’t offer any major tax or entitlement reform ideas to avoid the fiscal cliff out of fear being demagogued. He ran on platitudes and talked more about how bad Obama is rather than what plans for the future he had. He even became the first Republican presidential nominee to run pro-choice television ads, which aired in battleground states like Virginia, Ohio, and Iowa. Romney won independents in key battleground states as well.

And he still lost.

What we need to do is make a list of everyone in the alleged “conservative media” that peddles this tripe, or went on Fox News guaranteeing a Romney victory and told us how skewed all the mainstream media polls were (when in the last three presidential elections they’ve been exactly right), and resolve never to trust these people again.

Frankly, we should’ve known better than to trust them in the first place. During the past two primary cycles, didn’t we watch many of these same people tell us Mike Huckabee was a Christian socialist, Ron Paul was a nut-case, Rick Santorum was a pro-life statist, and Newt Gingrich opposed the very Reagan Revolution he was a foot soldier in?

You can agree or disagree with any of the men I just mentioned, and I certainly have disagreements with all of them. But that’s not the point. The point is that the very same people trashing and slandering non-establishment candidates in primaries are the very same people that tell conservatives we have to be team players (see that as “stand for nothing”). And yet they attack us like they would never attack liberals. Perhaps if Romney had gone after the president in the final two debates on Benghazi the way he went after Gingrich and Santorum in the primary, he wouldn’t have lost the election.

But now it’s time to move forward.

I recently spoke to a group of grassroots conservative activists at the Institute on the Constitution in Baltimore and shared with them that I believe we are a movement in a generational transition. On one hand there is the Reagan generation, and my generation on the other.

The Reagan generation sees how much freedom and liberty has been lost since Reagan and are trying to do whatever they can to hold on to whatever is left before it’s completely lost. The hope is that if we hold on long enough and defeat Democrats with any Republican, we can create another perfect storm that gave rise to Reagan in the first place, and it will be “morning in America” again.

My generation doesn’t have that nostalgia for the Reagan era because we were growing up and not really paying attention or weren’t even born at all. Now that we are paying attention, we don’t see the country in the context of what has been lost but rather how much ground needs to be gained. We are not seeing this purely in the context of the next election cycle. We’re seeing this in a generational cycle, which is why we oppose compromises on important issues like life and the debt ceiling. We don’t really care what the ruling class and its brigade of hand-wringers masquerading as pundits and pollsters think because we’re the ones who will pick up the long-term tab for the financial, moral, and spiritual brokenness of the country.

We’re looking at the next 40 years, not just the next four.

Ironically, though we may not be a part of the Reagan generation, we have the same perspective Reagan had in 1976 when he said the Republican Party ought to stand for something other than becoming more like Democrats, and there should be no more “pale pastels” but “bold colors” instead.

Eventually, my generation is going to get its chance to lead because we have time on our side. Nobody lives forever. When we do get our chance to lead, and it may be sooner rather than later, we need to learn the lessons of recent failures lest we fail our children and grandchildren.

This election provided plenty of hard lessons, but also a useful road map of how to win the future:

1. The truth still sets us free.

Yes, the mainstream media favors liberals, but just giving our yin to their yang doesn’t produce truth—it just produces another echo chamber. I couldn’t believe how many conservatives I know and trust who really thought Romney was going to win, and win convincingly, despite the fact several polling models with a 96% accuracy rate in the past two presidential elections said otherwise. Our version of propaganda is no more true than their version of propaganda. We are dangerously close to becoming the magically thinking, virtual reality-living creatures we accuse the Democrat base of being. If we want to advance truth, we need to believe the truth ourselves—even when it’s inconvenient. And the truth is we are no longer the dominant view in the culture, and we have some work to do to change that.

2. Hypocrisy doesn’t sell.

Pollster Scott Rasmussen says the single most unpopular piece of legislation in recent American history was the TARP bailout of 2008. Yet we nominated a candidate who was for it. Good luck going to Toledo and telling Ohioans making $15/hour and think their job was saved by the auto industry bailout that they didn’t deserve a government handout, but Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs did.

3. Cast a vision.

After the Democrats lost an election in 2004 they probably shouldn’t have lost, the more principled-progressive wing of the party took over. The result was an anti-Bush liberal uprising in 2006 similar to the anti-Obama Tea Party uprising of 2010. Next, the new progressives defeated the more pragmatic Clintons head-to-head in a presidential primary. Obama ran for president promising his base he would move the ball down the field for them with their crown jewel legislation—Obamacare. He then went right back to that base in 2012 and worked the exact same get-out-the-vote model that worked in 2008.

He embraced his base, even on social issues, both in the White House and at his convention. While we were scoffing at him for never moderating, Obama was energizing his base all along in preparation for a tough re-election. The progressives cast a vision that took more than one election cycle, followed it through, and won. They never detoured no matter what the facts were on the ground because they have a courage of their conviction that their vision is what’s best for the country. They wanted to win to govern. The Republican ruling class wants to govern to win. The Democrats want to run a country. The Republican ruling class wants to run a party.

4.  Stop demonizing our neighbors.

We called Bill Clinton every name in the book and even impeached him, and that didn’t work. We called Obama every name in the book, and all we did was help him to portray his failures as Bush’s fault and energize his base all the more. We called Sandra Fluke a “slut”, and all we did was scare even more skittish advertisers away from conservative talk radio.

Yes, there is a double standard here. You should see some of the Tweets I receive after appearing on MSNBC, like when someone tweeted after I defended Richard Mourdock he hoped my daughters would get raped. We watch homosexual activists glitter-bomb conservatives and can only imagine what would happen if we returned such fire. It’s not fair, but it is what it is.

I am as fiery as the next guy and at times have not been able to hold my tongue, especially when it’s fun not to. But I’ve learned that while we don’t need to moderate our principles, we do need to temper our approach. Ann Coulter’s shrillness may sell books to the already-converted, but it’s losing the culture at-large. We no longer have a country that accepts many of our premises, so we have to go into evangelism mode. That requires a relationship and trust, and it’s hard to build that rapport with people while demonizing them. Pardon the cliché, but we need happy warriors. As the late D.L. Moody once said, “When you’re winsome you win some.”

Most of our neighbors we are angry with for voting the way they did don’t go to church and were taught things about this country in public schools that are contrary to this nation’s actual history. How should we expect them to vote given those circumstances? We’re not a silent majority anymore. We’re a plurality in danger of becoming a minority. If you want our neighbors to vote differently, then we have to change their worldview.

5. We need solutions – not just values.

Obama won young voters again despite the fact they’re the group hardest hit by his policies. They will be saddled with all the debt we’re tacking on and live in a more dangerous world in the long run with the emergence of the Arab Spring, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and a nuclear Iran.

We are losing them by trying to win them over to values that make freedom possible – Judeo-Christian morality, personal responsibility, limited government, etc. – yet they have been educated in an environment that makes these values foreign to them. It will only get harder to win them over as they get older.

For example, they don’t see the Second Amendment as a requirement to keep freedom secure from government tyranny, but rather gun control as a means of stopping little children from being killed by gang violence or gun accidents. See, they’re not looking for values; they’re looking for solutions.

For better or for worse, there is one Republican who has been attracting younger voters in the past two presidential primaries, and that’s Ron Paul. Granted, some are those whose only goal is to legalize marijuana, but that’s also a lazy stereotype. Many of them are young people who don’t understand why it’s their responsibility to pay for the lack of fiscal discipline of their forefathers and why they have to die in foreign lands nation-building when our nation is declining here. Paul is offering them solutions to these problems and not just values. I don’t agree with all of Paul’s solutions, but I do think we could learn from this approach.

Do we have a solution for these young voters to their problems? Furthermore, do we have solutions to the problems with healthcare and job creation that middle class voters think much more about than they do the deeper moral crisis in the country? Changing worldviews is a long-term goal; but in the short-term, we can still win elections by coming up with real conservative solutions to people’s problems as opposed to a general discussion of values.

Working class whites in Ohio who typically vote Republican and voted for Obama don’t see him as a Marxist putting us on the road to Greece. They see Obama as the guy that saved daddy’s job at the Chrysler plant and thus kept food on the family’s table.

Solutions trump values every time because people always vote out of vested interest.

6. We’re too white.

African-Americans routinely vote with us on issues like marriage; yet there is almost never any Republican Party follow-up with them after they do. Latinos are one of the more socially conservative subcultures in America, and Romney did worse with them in 2012 than John McCain did in 2008. The reality is that the country is becoming less white, so we’re going to have to come up with ways to apply our principles to the needs of non-whites like never before.

It doesn’t mean we have to pander to them or try to out-amnesty the Democrats, but it may mean we may need to take a more incremental approach on some hot-button issues.

How can we demand that minorities stop seeing government as the primary vehicle to access the American dream when Republicans in the corporate class do it all the time? To ask African-Americans to totally abandon programs like affirmative-action and to ask Latinos to look the other way while we mass-deport some of their family members and friends is unrealistic when at the same time we allow Republicrats to get away with using government for their purposes all the time. Sometimes it’s like we’re writing the Democrats’ campaign commercials for them.

Look at Texas, one of the most Republican and conservative states in the country. About 38% of the state’s population is Latino, so how are conservatives making gains in a state with such a huge Latino population (and can it be modeled nationally?) No one would accuse Texas of being a moderate state—far from it. Most of us consider it conservative Valhalla, so why not follow its lead?

7. Pro-lifers are losing.

Please stop quoting polls telling me the country is more pro-life than ever before. When Richard Mourdock loses a U.S. Senate seat in a very Republican state for saying that all life, regardless of how it’s conceived, is a gift from God and deserves to be protected, then that means again we need to be honest with ourselves and stop believing our own fundraising propaganda.

Pro-lifers are the largest and most loyal voting bloc the GOP has; yet we have almost nothing to show for it except the carcass of Todd Akin abandoned on the side of the road by the GOP establishment. Akin is not a victim for his own mangled remarks, but we were victimized by a party establishment who decided three months ago they’d rather have Harry Reid as Majority Leader than a good man with a 96% American Conservative Union rating in the U.S. Senate. There was plenty of time to rehabilitate Akin in a very Republican state, but the ruling class piled on him instead.

If 40 years after Roe v. Wade the culture doesn’t believe my own family line conceived in horrific and traumatic circumstances has the right to live, then we have lost the most crucial moral debate of this age and need to completely re-evaluate what we’re doing and why we’re doing it.

I remain optimistic. God is still on the throne. My Savior lives. More and more patriots are waking up. This is still the greatest nation on earth. Providence has allowed us to live in a nation where we can control our own destiny, and we can do so again if we have the same courage of conviction demonstrated by past generations that gave us the freedom and liberty we currently enjoy.

They that have ears to hear, let them hear.

The Many Faces Of Mitt

Mitt Romney 2 The Many Faces of Mitt

History made this week by Mitt Romney – of the wrong kind.

I believe he is the first Republican nominee for president to ever run a pro-abortion television ad in a general election campaign. This one is targeted specifically at the key swing state of Virginia.

In it, Romney is essentially saying he’s okay with the killing of children conceived in the so-called “exceptions” like my own family line, or maybe someone that is close to you. If what this Romney commercial is saying came true, than the Republican presidential candidate would essentially erase my three children from the planet, because they would’ve never been born.

Sad, but not surprising when you consider his record:

1) Romney is pro-choice; when running in 1994 for the U.S. Senate, he says he lost a loved one to a back alley abortion.

2) In 2002, Romney says he’s neither pro-choice or pro-life in running for governor of Massachusetts and that he will not threaten any of the state’s pro-abortion laws.

3) In 2005, Governor Romney vetoes a controversial contraception bill. He says studying what it would actually do led to a change of heart on the issue. In an op-ed to the Boston Globe about the matter, Romney now says he is pro-life.

4) Later in 2006, despite his self-proclaimed pro-life conversion, Romney signs into law Romneycare, which includes taxpayer0funded elective abortions for just $50 a kill (abortion-on-demand) and gives Planned Parenthood a permanent seat on a board overseeing the legislation, without providing a similar seat for pro-lifers.

5) As governor of Massachusetts, Romney forced Catholic hospitals to issue the so-called “Morning After” abortifacient, which is similar to the contraception mandate in Obamacare he is criticizing the president for. During the 2012 GOP primary debates, Romney lied when he said he didn’t after he was confronted by Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum on the matter.

6) During the 2008 campaign, Romney said he was for the Human Life Amendment proposed in the Republican Party platform, which enshrines the right to life of the unborn in the U.S. Constitution. Later, Romney walked back that stance and said he favored a states’ rights position on child killing, which most pro-lifers oppose.

6) In 2011, Romney seems to tell Mike Huckabee he favored the Mississippi personhood initiative at a time it was a hot topic, but then the campaign later said the governor had no position on the initiative and that it was each individual state’s decision.

7) During the 2012 campaign, Romney was the only Republican presidential candidate who refused to sign either the Personhood USA pledge or the Susan B. Anthony pledge.

8) Romney nominates a 100% pro-life running mate, and then the two issue a statement chastising 100% pro-life U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin and saying they’re pro-choice in certain situations.

9) Romney gives an interview with CBS News prior to the Republican Convention in which he says he’s for child killing in cases of “health of the mother,” which is essentially abortion-on-demand.

9) In July, a letter from Romney to a pro-life activist is published at Life News laying out his pro-life agenda if he were elected president. Later, in October Romney tells the Des Moines Register he won’t do anything on the life issue if he’s president.

10) A day after saying that to the Iowa newspaper, Romney tells an audience in the crucial swing state of Ohio he’ll “be a pro-life president.”

11) This week, Romney starts running an ad in favor of killing children conceived via rape or incest, like pro-life warrior Rebecca Kiessling.

If you’re keeping score of that breathtaking evolution, that means Romney has essentially taken every conceivable position on the most defining moral debate of this age—every single one and some of them more than once.

I understand the priority to defeat the most pro-abortion president ever in the heat of an election; but in exchange for that, we in the pro-life movement are literally letting Romney get away with murder. Which doesn’t leave me much confidence we’ll “hold him accountable after the election” as many of our “leaders” have promised us.

Why Roger Ailes Won’t Walk Away

Fox News channel SC Why Roger Ailes Wont Walk Away

A couple of years ago, Roger Ailes would muse from time to time that maybe he would hang it up after the 2012 election and slip gracefully into retirement.

Not many people believed him. And with good reason, as it turned out.

The Fox News chairman has just signed a new, four-year deal with News Corp., as I reported exclusively on Twitter (hey, tweets are like AP dispatches these days). Those who can’t stand him or Fox will still have Ailes to kick around, at least through 2016.

For starters, Ailes, 72, isn’t the retiring type. He’s in good health and simply wasn’t ready to walk away.

He has made clear in past interviews that he believes the country is at a crossroads. Whether we’re looking at a second Obama term or a Romney administration, Ailes wants to be engaged as head of a news organization whose commentators reflect his aggressively political views. Various Republican presidential contenders, including Mitt Romney, felt the need to meet with Ailes during the primaries, and a couple of them—Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum—had been on his payroll.
