An Inexorable Slide To Tyranny

Obama NDAA SC An Inexorable Slide to Tyranny

With the passage of the NDAA and his use of executive orders, Obama has managed to bring about an inexorable slide to tyranny. On March 16, 2012, he signed executive order 13603 about “National Defense Resources Preparedness.” This act provides Obama with the authority to control food, water, production, material, and labor of almost unimaginable proportions. This, of course, is not the first time it has been done. Like it has been said, “There is nothing new under the sun.”

In 1933, just shortly after his election, Franklin D. Roosevelt declared a state of emergency. His actions were covered by the NIRA (National Industrial Recovery Act), which essentially gave him the same scope of power that Obama now has. In his inaugural address in January 1933, Roosevelt said, “If we are to go forward, we must move as a trained and loyal army willing to sacrifice for the good of common discipline, because without such discipline no progress is made, no leadership becomes effective. We are, I know, ready and willing to submit our lives and property to such discipline, because it makes possible a leadership which aims at a larger good. This I propose to offer, pledging that the larger purposes will bind upon us all as a scared obligation and with a unity of duty hitherto evoked only in time of armed strife. With this pledge taken, I assume unhesitatingly the leadership of this great army of our people dedicated to a disciplined attack upon our common problems.”

In the same year, Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany. In many ways, Hitler and FDR faced similar problems with high unemployment, inflation, a lack of consumer confidence, a lack of industrial output, and a country in the depths of depression. Hitler also managed to unite his countrymen into one unified people under his total control, just as Roosevelt through executive order managed to command the entire nation’s economy. In Germany, this act was called “The Enabling Act”, another name but essentially the same function. For example, after the Enabling Act, Hitler declared public holidays for workers in all industries, while at the same time banning all workers’ unions.

Throughout much of the late 1920′s and into the late 1930′s, Mussolini in Italy enjoyed support and adulation from liberals and progressives in the USA. So great was his support that an image resembling him was contained within a sculpture representing Atlas in Rockefeller Plaza. He was being revered as having unified and put the labor force of Italy to work, creating a fast-growing Italian economy through collective means.

In January 2013, Obama in his second inaugural address said”But we have always understood that when times change, so must we; that fidelity to our founding principles requires new responses to new challenges; that preserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action. For the American people can no more meet the demands of today’s world by acting alone than American soldiers could have met the forces of fascism or communism with muskets and militias. No single person can train all the math and science teachers we’ll need to equip our children for the future, or build the roads and networks and research labs that will bring new jobs and businesses to our shores. Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation and one people.”

While Obama, when he signed the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act), pledged he would never think about using the indefinite detention portion of the act upon American citizens, it would be legal under the provisions of the act. He also signed the executive order as stated in the opening of this article and has yet to activate it, although as it stands it would be legal. Remember, we are still under a state of emergency begun after Sept 11th by George W. Bush and extended by Obama. Are we to awaken one morning after another attack (another Boston perhaps) and find this act also activated?

Remember (as many historians have found), under German law as it stood at the time, everything Hitler did was legal. Are we also on that inexorable slide to tyranny? Do we wait for these acts to come into play before we respond even to their existence? Will it be too late if we do? Will we as a country who under the Constitution are the true rulers of our nation allow this to happen?

Spain has just announced that their unemployment rate is over twenty seven percent, and they are developing extraordinary measures to combat the situation. How long before the collapse of the dollar, or another oil embargo such as what happened in the 1970′s (or another war perhaps with Syria, Iraq, or North Korea) plunges the United States into such turmoil as Europe is now toiling against? No one know the fate of the European Union at the moment. But are the foundations of the United States any more sound than that of Europe? Or is it simply being held together by the perception of unity, the notion that our once-great nation could not be brought down by economic rules that have stood for all time? The Obama administration seems to eschew the notion that the United States is an exceptional country. Can a country that is not exceptional hope to avoid the rules that have applied to all other economies throughout all time?

Personally, after watching the martial law (whether declared or not) in Boston and the calls by Bloomberg and others for “modifying” our rights under present conditions, I think we have started the inexorable slide into tyranny.

Michigan Lawmakers Nullify NDAA, Stand Against Fed Gun Grab

Nearly a thousand heavily armed demonstrators, some in wheelchairs and some in strollers, descended upon the Michigan State Capitol building in Lansing on Wednesday March 20th to draw a line in the sand, telling the Federal government in no uncertain terms that they would oppose any attempts to register or ban any type of currently legal firearm or accessory.

Obama: Militaristic Peace Prize Laureate

Angry Obama SC Obama: Militaristic Peace Prize Laureate

Back in 2009, 11 days after becoming the first illegal alien to hold the office of President, Barack Hussein Obama, citizen of Indonesia, was nominated for (and shortly thereafter awarded) the Noble Peace Prize. It appears to have been awarded on the basis of his skin color and his uber-liberal, leftist outlook on life, the universe, and everything. It certainly was not based on anything he had done, or what he would do in the future.

When Obama took power, one of the big issues he ran on was that our actions had made the Islamic world hate us. This has been the position of the radical left, too, that 9/11 was brought upon us by our arrogance and militaristic interference in the affairs of Islamic countries in various parts of the world. Obama, The Messiah, The One, vowed to change that by, it turns out, arrogance and militaristic interference in the affairs of Islamic countries in various parts of the world. The instances are many, but let’s look at a few of the most egregious.

Iraq and Afghanistan have been turned from difficult situations into unmitigated disasters. The mind-bogglingly inept and incompetent handling of both wars by Obama, the State Department, and what Obama has turned into the Department of Surrender, has led to huge and continuing death and casualty counts of both soldiers and civilians. In addition, the governments of both countries have become increasingly hostile towards us, with the increasing possibility that Islamist extremists will end up in control of of them; and all of the deaths of our brave, young heroes will have been in vain.

The war in Libya, of course, was not only a totally uncalled for and completely unjustified interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation; it was an action that violated U.S. federal law, the War Powers Act. Consent from Congress, supposedly the representatives of We the People, was neither asked for nor granted. The result was chaos and the brutal murder of a leader who had the support of a large percentage, if not an actual majority, of his countrymen. In the end, radical Islamists rose in power and stature; and the promised freedom for the downtrodden never materialized.

Not long after, a State Department (read: CIA) compound in the Libyan city of Benghazi was attacked and overrun by radical Islamists allied with al-Queda, an organization Obama and his Ministry of Propaganda (aka the  Mainstream Media) swore was defeated, dispersed, and no longer a threat. While Obama and Hillary Clinton, then Secretary of State, did nothing to help and in fact appear to have hindered rescue efforts, four Americans (government employees including our ambassador) were savagely murdered. Obama and Clinton, with the complicity of the media, have worked feverishly ever since to cover up their heinous (in)actions.

Why, one might feel tempted to ask? Well, it seems that the erstwhile Peace Prize winner was involved in a gun-running scheme. No, no. Not the one that sent thousands of weapons to drug cartels in Mexico. No. This one was about shipping masses of arms, at least some of which were collected from the defeated Libyan Army, to the Syrian “rebels,” another group allied with (if not run by) supposedly no longer existent al-Queda. For some reason, the Peace Prize winning “President” of al-Queda’s sworn enemy doesn’t want the American people to know he has been supplying them with weapons.

All this, of course, overlooks the massive and growing drone war being “covertly” waged in sovereign nations like Pakistan and Yemen (and other less obvious places.) Many believe that it’s just a matter of time (and not a whole lot of it) before the drone war is brought home to America, where the very unconstitutional National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) allows the president to wage war on anyone he deems a terrorist. It also overlooks purchases of billions of rounds of hollow-point, maximum damage ammunition and thousands of “assault rifles,” shotguns, and armored vehicles by federal agencies. Who does the Peace Prize Laureate intend to use all this on? (BTW, this is what is called a rhetorical question.)

Our peace-loving Commander-in-Chief has also so emboldened and aggravated the North Koreans with his provocative military maneuvers that we are now in imminent danger of their wacko leader setting off a nuke in our atmosphere, causing an electromagnetic pulse that could send us back to the Stone Age in seconds. The Russians and the Chinese, too, as if smelling blood in the water, have become increasingly aggressive, bringing back memories of the worst days of the Cold War.

Like the Religion of Peace© he so admires – and many believe still practices – Obama is a clear and present danger to the United States of America. He must be forced to resign, or be removed from power by We the People, before he destroys us.

State Senator Blocking Nevada Anti-NDAA Bill

Obama NDAA SC State Senator Blocking Nevada Anti NDAA Bill

On March 26th, we asked you to contact Representative Tobin, who was blocking HB 2573 from coming up for a vote.

The response was huge.

Activist PostWestern JournalismLew Rockwell Blog, and several other websites picked up the alert, which was seen by thousands of people across the web. The Action Alert worked so well, according to our friends at Freedom Outpost, that Rep. Tobin did a 180 and changed his stance on the bill.

Now, State Senator Tick Segerblom is blocking Nevada’s Anti-NDAA legislation.

The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) authorized the indefinite military detention, extraordinary rendition, and application of the laws of war without charge or trial of anyone, including U.S. citizens. SB378, once amended, will protect the rights of the people of Nevada. It has 16 cosponsors, including 14 Republicans and two Democrats, more than nearly every other bill in the legislature.

When PANDA Nevada’s State Team Leader, Chris Corbett, met with Senator Segerblom last week, the Senator laid out a challenge:

“If people really care about this bill, they’ll call me”

Tick Segerblom is playing games with our rights, and he has laid out a challenge. Let’s show him we don’t play games with our unalienable rights.

Challenge Accepted.

Call or fax State Senator Tick Segerblom and politely tell him to defend our unalienable rights. Tell him to honor his oath and bring SB 378 up for a vote. Most of all, tell him that if he does not, you and countless others will not only refuse to vote for him, but do whatever it takes to unseat him from office.

Contact State Senator Tick Segerblom NOW (Out-of-staters are encouraged to contact as well, and we find it most effective if you don’t mention your state):

One Man Blocking Arizona Anti-NDAA Bill

Obama NDAA SC One Man Blocking Arizona Anti NDAA Bill

The 2012 NDAA allows any person, including American citizens, to be indefinitely detained without charge or trial, sent to a foreign country to be held, and even executed. Not a single law has eradicated more of our Constitution protections since the Civil War.

Now, Arizona has a chance to defeat it. Arizona has the chance to become the first state in America to enact real protections for its citizens against the NDAA. HB 2573, introduced by Rep. Carl Seel, passed Committee 6-2 last month and passed the Rules Committee yesterday.

Yet, one Representative does not see the tide turning to liberty. Representative Andy Tobin is currently blocking HB 2573 from receiving a full House vote. He is willing to kill protection for the people of Arizona and allow the Federal government to trample the rights of his constituents.

We will not allow him to block this bill. The rights of the people of Arizona depend on it.

Show Rep. Tobin the tide is turning in favor of liberty. Urge him, politely but firmly, to bring HB 2573 up for a vote.

If you have to leave a message, ask him to call you back. If you send an email, ask for his reply and tell him to honor his Oath. Forward this crucial message on to friends and family.

Contact Rep. Tobin NOW and urge him to bring HB 2573 to the floor (out-of-staters are highly encouraged to call as well, and we find it most effective if you don’t mention the state you’re calling from.):

Texas Anti-NDAA Bill Heads To House Floor

Texas Map 2 SC Texas Anti NDAA Bill Heads to House Floor

You don’t mess with Texas. At least, that’s precisely what State Rep. Lyle Larson is saying with HB 149.

HB 149 is designed to counter the indefinite detention provisions, sections 1021 and 1022, of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act. These sections authorize the indefinite military detention, without charge or trial, of anyone who commits a “belligerent act” or is suspected of terrorism and violate over 13 provisions of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. The law has also been condemned by retired members of the Armed Forces, a current U.S. CongressmanFederal Judge Katherine B. Forrest, conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Rep. Larson’s bill, once amended, will protect the people of Texas from indefinite military detention and extrajudicial assassination without charge or trial. However, we have to get it through Committee first.

It’s time to bring the pressure. One call, and taking 30 seconds to tell your legislator what you think, can make all the difference.

Contact members of the Texas House Federalism and Fiscal Responsibility NOW and tell them, politely but firmly, you will accept nothing less than a YES on HB 149. (Out-of-staters are encouraged to call as well.)

Las Vegas Passes Anti-NDAA Resolution

PANDA Nevada (People Against the National Defense Authorization Act) announces the passage of a Las Vegas City Council Resolution defeating the indefinite detention provisions of the 2012 NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act).

LasVegasPassesAnti NDAALegislation Las Vegas Passes Anti NDAA Resolution

Just before noon on Wednesday, the honorable Las Vegas City Council passed a resolution rebuking the indefinite detention provisions of the 2012 NDAA, 5-2. The resolution may be read here at: http://tinyurl.com/cyu5bue.  The Resolution will now head to the Clark County Commission; if passed, it would be the first Joint City/County Resolution passed in response to the NDAA.

The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act was overwhelmingly passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama on December 31, 2011. The 2012 NDAA declares the United States to be a battlefield in the war on terror; and Section 1021 and 1022 authorize the indefinite military detention, without charge or trial, of persons on US soil.

This violates at least 23 Articles of and Amendments to both the US and Nevada Constitutions.

PANDA’s Clark County Chapter Head, Daphne Lee, stated,

“I am so incredibly grateful to the honorable Council members for supporting our efforts. I would especially like to thank Councilman Beers for helping me introduce this resolution to the board, and to Mayor Goodman for her amazing vocal support for the rights of all persons in Nevada. This action will support other cities, counties and states all over the country who seek to take a stand to protect constitutional rights.”

Christopher Corbett, PANDA Nevada State Team Leader, said “This is an important first victory in the fight to restore and protect civil liberties in Nevada. Hopefully this resolution will encourage the rest of Nevada to pass similar resolutions and state legislation.”

There is already action under way to pass similar resolutions in Northern Nevada.  Both the Washoe County Commission and Reno City Council have agreed to look at this issue in the next 30 days.

State Senator Don Gustavson has also submitted a bill to be considered during the 2013 Nevada legislative session.  The Nevada Liberty Preservation Act (SB378), which has 16 bipartisan cosponsors, will lead the way in restoring Constitutional rights to all persons in Nevada.

This movement is just getting started. “We the People” will take back this great nation, one city, County, and State at a time.

“Sin City” To Introduce Anti-NDAA Resolution

Obama NDAA SC Sin City to Introduce Anti NDAA Resolution

The fight against indefinite military detention continues. Yesterday, the Las Vegas City Council and the Clark County Commission drafted anti-NDAA legislation to protect the Constitutional rights of their constituents.

City Councilman Bob Beers and County Commissioner Chris Giunchliani put forth the draft.

Afterward, Daphne Lee, the Clark County Chapter Head of PANDA, and Christopher Corbett, Nevada Executive Director of PANDA, expressed their gratitude to Beers and Giunchliani. Corbett said:

“This initiative will help raise awareness of the NDAA and encourage other municipalities and our state legislators to do the same.”

Specifically, sub-sections 1021 and 1022 of the NDAA allow the indefinite arrest, imprisonment, and/or transport to foreign prisons of anyone on U.S. soil whom the federal government declares is a terrorist suspect. In short, the 2012 NDAA enables the government to make any person on U.S. soil a prisoner of war.

Currently making its way to committee in the Nevada State Legislature is a related bill, Don Gustavson’s BDR 728, the Nevada Liberty Preservation Act.

You can help stop this violation of our Constitutional rights. You can help stop the NDAA. Encourage your representative to support this legislation, or thank them for doing so:

Congressman: DHS Won’t Talk About $1.6 Billion Bullet Purchase

At CPAC, Luke Rudkowski of WeAreChange.org interviewed Congressman Timothy Huelscamp on his decision to vote against the NDAA, which was due to the unconstitutionality of the indefinite detention provision. They also discussed Obama’s Disposition Matrix and the large ammunition purchases made by the DHS.
