Advocates Of Murder No More

This last week, I have been focusing on the Gosnell crimes against the innocent in the womb. This monster (and a monster he is) has the severed feet of babies in jars at his clinic; his associates stab babies in the neck 20 minutes after they are born alive; babies have been decapitated; their spinal cords have been cut; and to top it off is the account of a baby in a toilet, gasping for air, waiting for someone to stand up and magnify the laws of our republic against the criminal and to preserve the life of the innocent.

Through their inaction, the professed church in America today has been the greatest advocate for the abortion industry. Three hundred thousand pulpits have become accomplices to murder by their silence while 3,700 babies a day are aborted. In the meantime, America seems to have question marks as to why their government acts in the fashion they do.

We need look no further than to the criminal in the White House, who has voted over 241 times advocating abortion, as if to say murdering children is lawful. If that’s not good enough, Barack Hussein Obama has even voted to make sure there is a second doctor in the room to “snuff out” the baby if it is born alive.

Obama, in an interview on NBC’s “Today” show on April 17, 2013, stated the following about Gosnell:

If an individual carrying out an abortion, operating a clinic, or doing anything else is violating medical ethics, violating the law, then they should be prosecuted.

Attempting to justify what he just tried to denounce, Obama also affirmed his defiant stance on abortion in Politico the same day:

What I can say is this: … I think President Clinton said it pretty well when he said, ‘Abortion should be safe, legal and rare.’

There is nothing safe, legal, or rare about abortion.

“Rare,” Mr. President, like 57 million innocent babies who have been murdered since 1973?

“Rare,” Mr. President, like 3,700 innocent babies who are slaughtered in the womb every day?

We also found out last week that Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife went in for the kill as a financial profiteer from the abortion industry.

This administration’s attorney general polarizes or attempts to incriminate old ladies who stand up against the murder of children. And why? Well, now we know.

And now the abortion industry has become so emboldened that they even sent lobbyists to the Florida House floor to advocate killing babies after they are born.

The good news is that despite the criminal behavior of Obama and the silence of the professed church in America, 650,000 real Christian patriots righteously and defiantly stood up against this criminal administration on the topic of abortion at the March for Life in Washington, D.C. Over 70 percent of abortion clinics have been shut down, and three states have declared abortion illegal. Why? Because the younger generations are rising with one voice, crying out “You will not kill off my generation!”

And if the professing church won’t stand up, God will use a pro-choice prosecutor (such as the one in Gosnell’s trial) to expose and shut down the abortion industry.

The law is there to protect the innocent, and it is there to condemn the guilty. Now it is time for America to do her part and lawfully prosecute this criminal administration, and it’s also time  for government to lawfully protect the innocent in the womb.

What Will Be Your Fate, America?

Can you imagine a world in which the Holocaust never occurred?  Or a World War that never took place?  Can you imagine all the lives that would have been saved; families that never had to be bereaved of their children; and the millions of men, women, and children whose lives could have been spared? If only the people would have stopped the destruction before it took place.  No one ever expected the Holocaust to happen.  Who could imagine that such evil embodied through Hitler and his regime could have ever taken place?  Were there no warning signs to the people of Germany?  Yes, there were.

The Germans told the Jewish people they couldn’t swim in their swimming pools, but no one protested too strongly.  Then they said they couldn’t attend their schools, “No problem,” said the Jewish people, “We’ll make our own schools.”  Little by little, their rights were stripped from them and taken away through deceptive measures; but no one ever imagined the horror that awaited them because they tolerated the beginning trickles of injustice that left governmental power unchecked, which ended up billowing into one of the most tragic events in history. Everything that Hitler did looked like law, smelled like law, and even had the color of law, but was not law. What is it that we have learned from looking back and studying the past?

John Adams, the second president of the United States, stated: “Fear is the foundation of most governments; but it is so sordid and brutal a passion, and renders men in whose breasts it predominates so stupid and miserable, that Americans will not be likely to approve of any political institution which is founded on it.”

Is America walking contrary to John Adams’ statement?  You decide. Today, those who stand for the Constitution, the sanctity of life, and the traditional values of morality our country was founded upon are now labeled as un-American haters.

Vladimir Lenin, First Leader of the Soviet Union, said: “We can and must write in a language which sows among the masses hate, revulsion, and scorn toward those who disagree with us.”

Sound familiar?

We see it in trickles now, but left unchecked by the silent majority who sit back and do nothing… what will be your fate, America?  History tends to repeat itself unless we stand up and do something to stop it. Knowing what you stand for limits what you fall for.

Proverbs 28:1 says “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

If America was virtuous, we would not be afraid to stand against oppression.

Homosexuality: The Political Battering Ram

The lid has yet again been blown off of the radical homosexual agenda. As the Supreme Court held hearings on the Defense of Marriage Act and Proposition 8, Obama spent $350 million on sexual indoctrination classes for children. The timing is impeccable.

Through the Personal Responsibility Education Program, students will be taught that no type of sex is wrong and that the only “unsafe” behavior is becoming pregnant.

One can look to New York City, which implemented a similar type of sexual indoctrination on NYC schools in 2011. This curriculum is taught to grades 5, 8, and 10, which students receive standardized testing on.

Here are some examples of their twisted curriculum:

  • High-school students go to stores and jot down condom brands, prices, and features such as lubrication.
  • Teens research a route from school to a clinic that provides birth control and STD tests and write down its confidentiality policy. (Interesting, I will say that again – they are to write down the confidentiality policy. Did you hear that, parents?)
  • Kids ages 11 and 12 sort “risk cards” to rate the safety of various activities, including “intercourse using a condom and an oil-based lubricant,’’ mutual masturbation, French kissing, oral sex, and anal sex.
  • Teens are referred to resources such as Columbia University’s website Go Ask Alice, which explores topics like “doggie-style” and other positions, “sadomasochistic sex play,” phone sex, oral sex with braces, fetishes, porn stars, vibrators, and bestiality. (See Exodus 22:19 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

Do not those who developed this curriculum belong in jail?

Within a year after this perversion was implemented, an article was released in the Wall Street Journal that revealed cases of sexual misconduct by teachers and that the teachers’ unions were protecting the teachers who received little to no consequence for their crimes against children.

For example, teacher William Scharbach was found to have inappropriately touched and held young boys. “Respondent’s actions at best give the appearance of impropriety and at worst suggest pedophilia,” wrote the arbitrator, the fox in the chicken coop who was hired by the union to protect the union, before giving the teacher only a reprimand. The teacher didn’t deny the touching but denied that it was inappropriate. This is criminal!

Also coinciding with the radical push for sexual deviancy upon America’s children, we cannot forget about Dan Savage, a radical homosexual who dared God’s justice by authoring a book titled “Skipping Towards Gomorrah.” Savage uses the guise of anti-bullying with his Obama-endorsed organization “It Gets Better” – which is nothing but an attempt to normalize homosexuality. Savage attacked the Bible and bullied Christian teens at a high school journalism conference. Yes, I said “high school.”

It was reported that the first thing the bully said was, “I hope you’re all using birth control,” that the Bible was “bulls—”, and then spewed out sexual innuendos during his speech. The bully also set an atmosphere of hostility towards Christians who espouse beliefs that he was literally taking on himself – he was attacking students while crying “victim”. More than 100 students stood up and walked out of his derogatory, perverted, deranged, vulgar, and backward-meaning speech.

If Dan is not licking doorknobs in hopes that others get sick with the flu, then he (and his husband) is a guest at the White House for President Obama’s 2011 LGBT Pride Month reception, as well as attendees at the White House anti-bullying conference.

Keep in mind this is the same president who overlooked the ICE investigation into the Pentagon (5000 Pentagon employees were investigated for child pornography), who appointed over 225 homosexuals and transvestites into key positions in government (including Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan, who “queerified” Harvard), and who appointed as safe school czar Kevin Jennings- who wrote the forward to a book entitled Queering Elementary Education. Jennings’ hero was Harry Hay, an icon for NAMBLA (North American Man and Boy Love Association) whose motto is “sex before 8 before it’s too late” when marching in gay pride parades.

The NEA has worked hand in glove with this agenda as well. They already had an LGBT caucus for teachers but in 2010 felt it necessary to celebrate a new caucus: the “drag queen” caucus. The NEA also refused to pass Amendment I-24, designed to protect students from sexual misconduct by teachers. Many feel that they refused to pass the amendment in order to protect teachers who have sex with students.

No wonder this bully felt so emboldened to attack a bunch of high school students (and right under the noses of their parents.)

Dan Savage is also the same radical homosexual who said on HBO he wished all republicans were “f—ing dead.” In 2006, Savage said that a particular candidate for Senate “should be dragged behind a pickup truck until there’s nothing left but the rope,” which, by the way, stands contrary to the radical homosexual agenda’s premise for hate crimes legislation.

He also said on Bill Maher’s show: “I sometimes think about f—ing the s— out of Santorum. I think he needs it. Let’s bone that Santorum. I’m up for whipping up some Santorum in Santorum.” Savage also once claimed that “the only thing stopping his d**k from being put in Brad Pitt’s mouth is a piece of paper”, speaking of legislation. Did you catch that? I thought he was married. Out of his own mouth, he just admitted that “homosexual rights” are not about marriage; they are about promiscuity. He contradicts himself at every turn, my friends.

If the president and the homosexual lobby went out to prove my point, they could have not done a better job. In concert, these two radicals are clearly and literally at war with God and America as you know it.

The radicals are now operating in the light of day what they used to do through deceptive measures.

The American people have found out the radical homosexual agenda’s every deception through their “civil rights” cry, their “hate crimes” cry, and now their “bullying” cry. At every turn, their false premise is discovered.

People have seen clearly, after Savage’s demonstration, their version of tolerance and love – it is quite the opposite. Attack and then cry “victim!” is their face for the world to see. It is bigotry to the fullest – hate and intolerance towards anyone who resists their perversion.

America must come to the very realization that this agenda undermines everything we are. People like Dan Savage used to be jailed for their perversion; now, they are hailed by this corrupt administration. When paralleling the actions of the radical homosexuals such as the Dan Savages of the world to the actions of our founders, we now understand why God calls it an abomination.

America, it’s time for you to learn from historyso it does not repeat itself. We can even look to Canada, which implemented homosexual marriage in 2005, and see the moral devastation.

It is clear to see that, unbeknownst to the average homosexual, the radical homosexual agenda is being used as a political battering ram to target our children and silence anyone who opposes their deviant and criminal behavior in an attempt to demoralize and enslave the American people.

John Adams, the second President of these Untied States, said that “Our Constitution is made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, reminds us that “Without morals, a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure (and) which insures to the good eternal happiness, are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of FREE governments.”

Fighting For The Soul Of America

I just had breakfast with the Rev. John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg. Well, not the real Peter Muhlenberg, but a preacher friend of mine named Travis Witt. Travis does a powerful impersonation of the Revolutionary War-time pastor/patriot at churches and other venues around the country.

Travis will be in his full Muhlenberg character at The Awakening 2013 on April 19-20 in Orlando, Fla. The Awakening is a life-changing, spiritual-political revival.

But more on that later.

At breakfast, Travis and I were discussing the man Muhlenberg and what he stood for.

One early Sunday morning in January 1776, Rev. Muhlenberg was preaching what seemed his normal weekly sermon. His Scripture for the day focused on Ecclesiastics 3, which observes, in part, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Muhlenberg continued: “In the language of the holy writ, there was a time for all things, a time to preach and a time to pray, but those times have passed away.”

With his voice reaching a dramatic crescendo and his congregation now captivated, a fiery Pastor Muhlenberg then declared: “There is a time to fight, and that time has now come!” He then tore away his clerical robes, revealing, underneath, the crisply pressed uniform of a Colonial Army officer.

His congregation gasped.

Pastor Muhlenberg then marched to the rear of the church building, turned, and shook the walls, declaring, “Who among you is with me?” That very day, 300 brave men from his relatively small church stood with Peter Muhlenberg to become the 8th Virginia Regiment.

Frederick Muhlenberg, the good pastor’s brother, questioned, in a letter, whether it was Peter’s place to fight. Peter wrote back with words as true today as they were then. “I am a Clergyman, it is true,” he wrote, “but I am a member of the Society as well as the poorest Layman, and my Liberty is as dear to me as any man, shall I then sit still and enjoy myself at Home when the best Blood of the Continent is spilling? … so far am I from thinking that I act wrong, I am convinced it is my duty to do so and duty I owe to God and my country.”

I think Peter Muhlenberg set an example for each of us to follow. I think we all owe a duty to God, country, and one another to stand up and fight for liberty, regardless of our station in life.

Like then, we find ourselves today in the midst of a revolutionary war. Not a war with guns, but a war of ideals. We battle not against a foreign king, but a man among us who thinks he’s king. We struggle not against a tyrannical foreign government, but a government of our own making – a government that tilts toward tyranny.

We desperately need revival in this country – spiritual, cultural, and political revival. It’s time for the next Great Awakening.

We have come to a critical crossroads. The future of America will be determined in our lifetime by our actions. What we do now will echo throughout history.

Like Muhlenberg, I ask, “Who among you is with me?” We’re calling for an army of citizen activists – peaceful warriors for Christ, ready to take back America. The Awakening 2013 provides a powerful blend of spiritual, patriotic, and grassroots training that will have a lasting effect on your life and on America. Take a stand for righteousness and justice and join the next American Revolution.

Indeed, in contrast with the deeply held religious and moral values embraced by our Founding Fathers – men like Peter Muhlenberg – today’s America is governed by an “immoral” and “irreligious” chief executive. Barack Obama is the King George of secular-socialism. He seeks to undermine – if not altogether dismantle – the American exceptionalism that, hitherto, has been fundamentally woven throughout our national fabric. He aspires to the lowest common denominator. He seeks to uproot Ronald Reagan’s “shining city on a hill” and relocate the “land of the free and the home of the brave” to a much lower altitude, alongside those Euro-Marxist nations he so admires and wistfully desires to emulate.

Yes, for everything, there is a season.

Now is the season to fight.

How America Really Feels About ‘Homosexual’ Marriage

In light of the Supreme Court hand-picking the issue of homosexual marriage this week – an issue that has been settled by our Creator, the laws of our republic, and the righteous compliance of the American people – I thought it was important to ask where the American people are deriving the belief that radical homosexual marriage is accepted by a majority of our citizens.

Fact: At least 33 states have voted down homosexual marriage.

During the state’s Proposition 8 battle, 7 million Californians voted against homosexual marriage (the majority were black voters.) Not once but twice was their voice heard. Yet, the corrupt judicial system got involved and stripped it from the hands of the people, placing it in the courts – right where they wanted it. That way, they could control the “debate”; and the state-run media were right there to help them along.

Another example dates back to May 1, 2004, in Seattle, Wash.

Approximately 25,000 people protested homosexual marriage at the Mayday for Marriage rally. Approximately 1,500 radical homosexual sympathizers showed up to protest the rally, holding up signs stating“Bigots go home!” The state-run media twisted the truth and told the public that the 1,500 homosexual supporters holding up signs stating “Bigots go home!” were the majority and made the 25,000 protesters out to be the minority, totally turning the event to be against the “bigots” instead of homosexual marriage.

The media repeated the same twisted reporting in Washington, D.C. this week.

Hegelian Dialectic

The Hegelian Dialectic is the tool that the corrupt in government use in an attempt to manipulate the minds of the people to accept their “change” when they normally would reject it.

The Hegelian Dialectic is the process in which the usurping elitists create a crisis, knowing in advance how the population will react to that created crisis, thus conditioning the people that a change is needed. Once that is achieved, they will then bring the “answer” to the crisis.

They attempt to control both sides of the debate over how and why the “change” is needed, thus diverting anyone from asking the right questions, in order to avoid bringing the right answer.

With the help of the state-run media, this process is repeated over and over again to make it seem as though society is accepting of their “change.”

Rather than citing the Bible, the Constitution, or the laws of our republic, they continue their manipulative debate until a perceived compromise is reached. The outcome of the “debate” – which purposely addressed the “concerns of the public” with the mandate to do something – is enacted as public policy (never law), and their radical agenda moves forward.

The Supreme Court, the media, and this administration are exemplifying the Hegelian Dialectic today. After placing radical lesbian Elena Kagan on the bench, they have attempted to take issues such as marriage out of the hands of the people so they can push their unconstitutional and, therefore, illegal agenda.

The same can be said with the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. The American people accepted the lie that abortion is legal just because the Supreme Court said so.

As William Blackstone stated, “No enactment of man can be considered law unless it conforms to the law of God.”

After 57 million babies have been aborted, the American people are finally beginning to awaken to the fact that the Hegelian Dialectic has deceived them. If they would have shown their true intent by running on a slogan such as “Support the murder of innocent children. Vote yes today!”, the populace would have been appalled; and those who would have the audacity to advocate such a crime would have been thrown in jail.

Simply put, America is dealing with less than 1.7 percent of the population that is being used as a political battering ram to upend your Constitution.

Friends, remember they will always do what you let them get away with.

1. God’s Creation – God created all things; the Biblical account of creation is completely trustworthy.

5. Regeneration – We are spiritually dead in our natural state and have to be made alive by the Holy Spirit who applies the truths of Scripture to our hearts.

6. Redemption – All the pain, all the tears, all the adversities, all the heartache, and all the suffering we experience in this life will be washed away for those who have given their lives to Jesus in faith, with fear and trembling, hope and love, and a true desire for righteousness.

Divide And Conquer – The Two-Party System

Here we go again …

The so-called “right” has been capitulating to anti-American socialists/communists who attempt to force their agendas on the American people. Rand Paul voted in favor of confirming Chuck Hagel AND John Kerry, 100 Republicans are petitioning to back homosexual marriage as the Supreme Court looks at the issue this month, and eight Republican governors have betrayed the people and have come out in support of Obamacare.

Nowadays, America’s “right” is as corrupt and destructive as the “left.”

Today’s conservatives are yesterday’s liberals; and as the un-American agenda goes forward, who loses?

The American people do.

No matter “what side of the aisle” a representative stands on, they all swear the same oath:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Those who serve in our military swear a similar oath.

Why is it that the American soldier fights, bleeds, and dies to uphold the Constitution while the representatives in American government are allowed to desecrate their honor by undoing the freedoms (under the laws of our constitutional republic) for which the soldier sacrificed?

We have one Constitution, not two – but the American people have been dumbed-down to believe that when the left is in power, they can trample the Constitution; and when the right is in power, they can trample the Constitution. They both act as if they are a law unto themselves.

The first president of the United States, George Washington, prophetically warned:

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissention, which in different ages & countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders & miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security & repose in the absolute power of an Individual: and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty.

Simply put, America would not have a “left” if the “right” had been doing the right thing all of the time.

It would do America well to go back and see the flags that were flying during the American Revolution.

“No king but King Jesus” and “Appeal to Heaven” were their rallying cries. They must be ours as well if we wish to see America regain the ground that has been lost.

How To End Obama’s Tyranny!

There has been great concern about how Tyrant Barack Hussein Obama has been out there attempting to win the hearts and minds of our young through his twisted and un-American ideologies.

Synonyms for a tyrant are oppressor, dictator, bully, despot, persecutor.

How fitting.

After performing constitutional lyceums in 341 high schools across America, I have seen firsthand the indoctrination being imposed on the future generations of this great country – which, for the most part, they are rejecting.

I recently returned from a tea-party speaking tour in Florida, and the No. 1 concern these patriots brought up to me was how to reach the next generation.

Finally, they were asking the right questions to bring our country back in the right direction.

The answer is all too simple: Show them the price of freedom.

When performing my high school assemblies, I will ask the students in the assembly how many know their Constitution.

Many begin to laugh in sheer ignorance.

I tell them that if they do not know their rights, they don’t have any rights.

I then ask them how many have grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, dads, and moms – maybe even brothers and sisters – who have fought, bled, or died to ratify and magnify the Constitution they do not even know.

About 85 percent of them do, and it hits home with the students.

All of a sudden, it is no longer funny.

After seeing the price of freedom, the entire room is immediately captivated with a new love and respect for America and the laws of our constitutional republic.

They will also no longer tolerate anyone – especially tyrants – who would attempt to desecrate those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Assassin In Chief?

Angry Obama SC Assassin in Chief?

Exercising a power that no prior president ever thought he possessed — a power that no prior president is known to have exercised — President Obama admitted that he ordered the execution of American citizens, not on a battlefield, based on his belief that they were involved in terrorist activities.  It is known that at least three U.S. citizens, including a 16-year old boy, were killed on the president’s order in drone strikes in Yemen in 2011.

As the worldwide drone program ramps up, there have been increasing calls for the president to reveal the basis for his claimed authority.  Only a few weeks ago, U.S. District Court Judge Colleen McMahon denied both the ACLU’s and New York Times‘ requests under the Freedom of Information Act to obtain any and all legal documents prepared in support of the president’s claim of unilateral powers.  While Judge McMahon was concerned that the documents “implicate serious issues about the limits on the power of the Executive Branch under the Constitution and laws of the United States, and about whether we are indeed a nation of laws not of men,” she felt constrained by precedent to withhold them.  Now, a bipartisan group of 11 senators has written a letter to president Obama asking for “any and all legal opinions” that describe the basis for his claimed authority to “deliberately kill American citizens.”

However, not until the Senate began gathering information for hearings on John Brennan’s confirmation as CIA director, to begin February 7, has public attention finally been focused on this remarkable presidential usurpation of power.

On the night of February 4, the walls of secrecy were breached when NBC News released a leaked U.S. Justice Department White Paper entitled “Lawfulness of a Lethal Operation Directed Against a U.S. Citizen Who is a Senior Operational Leader of Al-Qa’ida or An Associated Force.”  Now we can see why the Department of Justice has been so reluctant to share the basis for its legal analysis.  It is deeply flawed — based on a perverse view of the Fifth Amendment Due Process Clause.  Additionally, the white paper completely ignores the procedural protections expressly provided in the Constitution’s Third Article — those specifically designed to prohibit the president from serving as prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner.

The white paper does not seek to delimit the federal power to kill citizens, but simply sets out a category of “targeted killing” of American citizens off the battlefield on foreign soil which it deems to be clearly authorized.  Moreover, this power is not vested exclusively in the president, or even the secretary of defense, or even officials within the Department of Defense — rather, it can be relied on by other senior officials of unspecified rank elsewhere in government.

According to the white paper, there are only three requirements to order a killing.  First, “an informed high-level official of the U.S. government has determined that the targeted individual poses an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States.”  Second, capture is “infeasible.”  And third, the ” operation would be conducted in a manner consistent with the applicable law of war principles.”  Indeed, from the white paper, it is not clear why killings of U.S. citizens on American soil would be judged by a different standard.

Mimicking a judicial opinion, the White Paper employs pragmatic tests developed by the courts to supplant the plain meaning of the Fifth Amendment Due Process and Fourth Amendment Search and Seizure texts.  Balancing away the constitutionally protected interests of the citizen in life, liberty, and property against the more important “‘realities’ of the conflict and the weight of the government’s interest in protecting its citizens from an imminent attack,” the Justice Department lawyers have produced a document worthy of the King Council’s Court of Star Chamber — concluding that the U.S. Constitution would not require the government to provide notice of charges, or a right to be heard, “before using lethal force” on a U.S. citizen suspected of terrorist activity against his country.  How very convenient.  The Obama administration lawyers appear to have forgotten that the Star Chamber was abolished by the English Parliament in 1641 in order to restore the rule of law adjudicated by an independent judiciary, terminating the rule of men administered by the king’s courtiers.

Also, conspicuously missing from the Justice Department’s constitutional analysis is any recognition that the Founders already balanced the life, liberty, and property interests of an American citizen suspected of “levying war against [the United States], or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort,” and provided them the specific procedural protections in Article III of  the Constitution.  When a U.S. citizen is suspected of treason, the constitutional remedy is not to invent new crimes subject to the summary execution at the pleasure of the president and his attorneys.  In Federalist No. 43, James Madison proclaimed that the Treason Clause would protect citizens “from new-fangled and artificial treasons … by inserting a constitutional definition of the crime, fixing the proof necessary for conviction of it[.]“  To that end, the Constitution does not permit the Obama lawyers to invent an elastically defined offense of “an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States,” in substitution for the constitutionally concrete definition of “levying war against [the United States], or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”

Moreover, Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution requires trial in “open court” — not in some secret “war room” in an undisclosed location.  That same section of Article III requires proof by “the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession” — not by a unilateral “determin[ation] that the targeted individual poses an imminent threat of an attack against the United States.”  Finally, as is true of “all crimes,” Article III, Section 2 requires “trial … by jury” on a charge of treason, not trial by some unidentified “high-level official of the U.S. government[,]” no matter how well-”informed” he may be.  In short, the Constitution provides that an American citizen must be tried and punished according to the judicial process provided for the crime of treason, not according to some newfangled and artificial executive “process” fashioned by nameless collection of lawyers.

These nameless lawyers have also ignored the Justice Department’s own venerable precedents.  The White Paper relies on the “laws of war” — but laws of war do not control here.  On August 21, 1798, U.S. Attorney General Charles Lee — serving under President John Adams — directed to the U.S. secretary of state an official opinion in which he determined that in the undeclared state of war between France and the United States, “France is our enemy; and to aid, assist, and abet that nation in her maritime warfare, will be treason in a citizen[, who] may be tried and punished according to our laws[, not like a French subject, who must be] treated according to the laws of war.”

It is a measure of how far we have fallen as a nation — not only that President Obama asserts and exercises such a terrible power, but that only 11 U.S. senators would be willing to affix their names to a letter to ask the Obama administration to provide its legal reasoning.  If John Brennan is confirmed as CIA director, and the killings of U.S. citizens continue based on this whitewash of a white paper, then the U.S. Senate will have yielded up to the president without even a fight the power to kill citizens without judicial due process — a power that has been unknown in the English-speaking world for at least 370 years.

Merriam-Webster defines a Statesman as a “wise, skillful, and respected political leader.” The same dictionary describes a politician as “a person experienced in the art or science of government.”  It also gives the definition:  “a person engaged in conducting the business of a government.”

When we think of a President today, who do we think of?  Our first thought may well come towards our current President.  Or we may think of JFK, or Ronald Reagan, or Franklin Roosevelt.  But if we are honest with ourselves, what exactly comes to our minds when we think of our current President?  Could it be intimidation, class-warfare, or an iron fist of demands that must “take place or else”?  The problem with our current President is that he wasn’t elected to be President.  What came to be, as a result of the media outlets and the entertainment industry, is the election of “Hollywood” to be our leader.  Not Hollywood in the real sense of the word such as film, actors, movies, and film producers, but a political celebrity.

Now, when we look in our wallets and pull out a dollar bill, does anyone take the time to think about the face on that bill?  It is a man we refer to as the “Father of our Country,” George Washington.  Our first President was not the intellectual beast that graced such men as Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, or James Madison.  As a matter of fact, Washington’s educational background was minimal with no more than maybe five years of formal education, with the rest of his learning occurring through his mother and self-teaching.  He didn’t come across as a particularly affectionate man; and according to the Catholic Exchange, he spoke little in public meetings and “lacked the charisma of many of his successors. Defeating the British with his ragtag army was an impressive feat, but he was not a traditional military hero. He won no spectacular victories during the Revolutionary War. Although he is widely admired as an outstanding president, few of his policies were stupendous successes.”

What was it that set this leader aside from most leaders in America during his day?  His character and statesmanship was what gained respect from those who far exceeded Washington in so many areas, including intellect.  He was a master at mastering self-control.  Washington wrote to his friend and aide de camp Alexander Hamilton: “I hope I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain (what I consider the most enviable of all titles) the character of an honest man.”

Though he was not a master of great military exploits, he was nonetheless a master of himself.  Virtue and character were the great President’s high marks as nothing was more profound than when he resigned as Commander and Chief of the Continental Army and then declining a third term as President of the United States.  Keep in mind that this man could very easily have ran a third, a fourth, and a fifth term; and every time, Washington would’ve received a perfect electoral vote.  Every time!  Does anyone feel the same could be said of the most “cool and hip” President of this generation?  Voting for a leader should never be based on race, which is something the milquetoast G.O.P needs to get through their thick skulls.  But if it must, hypothetically speaking, please consider Allen West.  Because if there is one thing we all need to remember this upcoming President’s Day, it is that true leadership doesn’t rest with leaning on the backs of racist, misogynist “rap artists” but rather in the mastery of one’s character and virtue.
