Memo To Christian Troops: ‘We’ve Got Your Back’

Fallujah Iraq Dec 8 2004 1 Memo to Christian Troops: ‘We’ve Got Your Back’

When NBA basketball player Jason Collins recently announced to the world that he’s sexually attracted to other men, Michelle Obama tweeted, “So proud of you, Jason Collins! This is a huge step forward for our country. We’ve got your back!” Jason even got a personal call from the president.

Lovely.

But even as the Obama administration is busy validating lifestyle choices and values that fly in the face of sexual morality, this president is just as busy undermining the free exercise of the very Christian faith that dares to acknowledge morality even exists.

President Obama’s Pentagon recently released a statement threatening military personnel: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense … Court Martials and nonjudicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis.”

Although the Pentagon has walked back its new anti-Christian “proselytizing” policy within the realm of public relations (a policy drafted in concert with foul-mouthed atheist and anti-Christian bigot Mikey Weinstein) the DoD has yet to offer evidence that it intends to walk it back within the realm of application.

Merriam Webster’s defines “proselytization” as an attempt “to recruit or convert especially to a new faith, institution, or cause.” Sounds an awful lot like the Pentagon is threatening to court-martial any service member who obeys Christ’s central command to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). Hard to read it any other way.

And so, to any member of the armed services who is harassed, demeaned, reprimanded, or charged by this Obama Pentagon with obeying Jesus – with endeavoring to “recruit or convert” others to His exclusive saving grace – we at Liberty Counsel are delighted to say “We’ve Got your back!” Free of charge. Pro bono legal defense.

How are we able to do this? Through the generous financial and prayer support of more than 1.2 million Liberty Counsel donors and supporters. So please, get this information to every member of the armed forces you know. If you (or they) are being persecuted in any way, at any time for sharing the love of Christ, let us know. Call us right away at 1-800-671-1776, or by emailing us at liberty@lc.org.

“Making it a crime to share your faith is outrageous and morally unconscionable,” said Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel. “There has never been an administration more committed to its secularist philosophy at the expense of religious liberty. Liberty Counsel will do whatever is necessary to defend the religious liberty of our men and women who defend our liberties in the armed services,” promised Staver.

You’re trained to fight. So are we. You risk your lives to defend us every day. Let us risk our time and resources to defend you. It’s the least we can do. We’d count it a high honor.

I’ve got news for Barack Obama. In America, serving God and serving country are not mutually exclusive. They never have been. In fact, until this president came along, the two went hand-in-hand.

In his farewell address, George Washington underscored the critical role religion and morality play to our nation’s survival. He warned of people like Barack Obama and Mikey Weinstein. “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports,” he said.

“In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. … [R]eason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

It seems the central goal of this president and his Pentagon is to do that – to “subvert religion and morality” wherever they find it. George Washington called that unpatriotic.

I agree.

Mark Twain once wrote, “The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation.” Twain’s sage advice seems a slight variation of Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might …” In short, if you want to find happiness, find what God created you to and do it well. Do what you love, and you’ll love what you do.

I love working for Liberty Counsel. I’m incredibly blessed to be part of one of the fastest growing (if not the fastest growing) civil rights organizations in America.

Every brave service man or woman I’ve ever known loves serving this great nation. Every Christian I’ve ever known loves serving the one Holy and Sovereign Creator of the universe – King Jesus.

If President Obama or any other anti-Christian radicals believe the American people are going to just lie down and allow them to rip God from country, they’ve got another thing coming.

I’m always proud of what we do at Liberty Counsel; but, having served 12 years in the military, I’m especially proud right now. It can’t be easy, laboring under an incompetent commander in chief who, over and again, has displayed overt hostility toward Washington’s “indispensable pillars” of religion and morality. It can’t be easy to serve under a president who constantly attacks your faith and freedom.

“It is beyond ironic that this administration chose to attack the religious liberties of the men and women who are charged with defending our nation’s freedom across the country and around the world,” Staver said.

“The military has a unique relationship with chaplains in order to meet the spiritual needs of our soldiers. To threaten court-martial to anyone who shares their faith is reprehensible and un-American. This absurd policy will undermine the military and destroy morale. It must be rescinded immediately, and those responsible for instituting it should be disciplined.”

But until then – and once again – to those in the military, don’t forget: Stand tall and proclaim your faith loudly and proudly. If Obama tries to muzzle you, don’t sweat it. Liberty Counsel’s got your back.

Pentagon May Court Martial Soldiers Who Share Christian Faith

Pentagon SC Pentagon May Court Martial Soldiers Who Share Christian Faith

The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis…”.

The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.

(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians–including chaplains–sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”)

Being convicted in a court martial means that a soldier has committed a crime under federal military law. Punishment for a court martial can include imprisonment and being dishonorably discharged from the military.

So President Barack Obama’s civilian appointees who lead the Pentagon are confirming that the military will make it a crime–possibly resulting in imprisonment–for those in uniform to share their faith. This would include chaplains—military officers who are ordained clergymen of their faith (mostly Christian pastors or priests, or Jewish rabbis)–whose duty since the founding of the U.S. military under George Washington is to teach their faith and minister to the spiritual needs of troops who come to them for counsel, instruction, or comfort.

Obama Birth Certificate Story Not Going Away

mike zullo 300x219 Obama Birth Certificate Story Not Going Away

According to lead Obama investigator Mike Zullo, fear of ridicule is the number one reason authorities are not acting on the mountain of verifiable evidence of document fraud concerning Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Appearing on the Carl Gallups, Freedom Friday call-in show, Zullo said, “We are dealing with a fraudulent document that would never survive scrutiny of the judicial process.”

Disinformation and the intentional dissemination of false information to protect Obama, will not survive in the face of what Zullo is calling a 100% fabricated document. He listed the following tactics used to discredit the research of Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse: media black outs; ridicule of opponents; infiltration and domination of message boards; setting up straw men to create an argument to chip away at the truth and simply ignoring the facts. “All we ask [is that Obama] bring forward the real original document,” said Zullo.

Ridicule is among the most effective of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. The godfather of community organizers, Alinsky said: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. Since this tactic is almost impossible to counteract, the opposition becomes infuriated and then reacts to your advantage.” Though frustrated himself, Zullo assures listeners that the truth will come out. Speaking directly to those who have been “chasing this longer than I,” Zullo says the truth will eventually be known and will vindicate those who have worked to reveal the ”greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people.” (3) A Rule of Law investigator, the detective continued: “The Obama Document Fraud attacks our core principles; we are a nation of Laws, not of Men.”

But Zullo grew pensive when he spoke about the reception that he and radio host Gallups received at the recent C-PAC event. “People are afraid,” he said. Gallups pointed out the Allen West betrayal as being just one of many examples of VIPs who backed out of a promise to support the Document Fraud investigation. “We Don’t Remember Making that Promise,” one politician said. The internet spins round and round with stories of deaths of key witnesses, friends, acquaintances who suddenly died, were shot, or even had to leave the country, as occurred in one instance. The secretive nature of events, threats, and disinformation are all more obstacles the Cold Case Posse have encountered as they try to find out who in the White House constructed the fraudulent Obama birth certificate released on-line in 2011.

As the long call-in show began to wind down, both Zullo and host Gallups remained optimistic that a breakthrough in this case is coming within the next three to six months. But the most poignant moment came at the end when they described their visit to the grounds of Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home. “Barack Obama is the only president in U.S. history who has never set foot on Mount Vernon property,” an old caretaker told them. Obama also is the only American president to spend millions of dollars to hide who he really is from the American people!

Constitutional Balance Of Power

constitution 2 SC Constitutional Balance of Power

Wisdom comes with age because older people have lived experiences and learned from them. And yes, the young can have wisdom – but only because they’ve been forced to live a lifetime in their short years.

This is one reason the U.S. Constitution is by far the finest centralized governing framework ever written. The body of the Constitution was written with wisdom by delegates desiring alignment, coordination, and synergy among the various member Nation-States (the Union). To prohibit the emergence of totalitarianism, the delegates designed the framework to include the distribution of power among three check–and-balance branches: Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.

However, this wasn’t the concern of the States and people who were required to approve (ratify) the new constitution. The people were concerned with the distribution of power between the new central government and themselves. Wisdom grown from experience guided the people via their State Legislatures to mandate changes (amendments) to the proposed constitution that restricted the power of the new central government – and provided the States with the power to enforce the restrictions.

When we read these ten amendments (the Bill of Rights), we can see that the people specifically describe personal freedoms that are off-limits to the central government. For example, let’s take the controversial Second Amendment that says, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

This amendment is very clear. It states that each state in the proposed new Union has the right to maintain a “deterrent military power” via its armed citizens. This deterrent power is to ensure the security of the State and its people against the threat of an armed central government. In other words,  the people had the right to keep and bear arms – and the State had the right to “regulate” (order) its people (militia) to take up their arms in defense of their personal freedoms (and the sovereignty of their State.)

“Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence. To secure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and the pistol are equally indispensable. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that is good.” — George Washington

Therefore, it seems that the Constitution of the United States specifically and deliberately established two separate distributions of power. The first is a distribution of governance among three branches within the central government. The second is a balance of military power between the States and the Central Government.

Many uninformed people will venomously disagree with the above interpretation – and insist that when the word “state” is used in an amendment, it is referring to the central government. In other words, it is the central government that has the power and authority to “regulate” the armed citizens.

However, if you consult the Constitution, you will find that the word “militia” is used four times in the main body. It is then used twice in the Bill of Rights, i.e. Amendment 2 and Amendment 5. When you read the passages containing the word “militia,” you’ll discover that the Federal Government is permitted to call State militias into federal service – but if it does, it pays the tab. The States train their militia and appoint the officers. Therefore, the militia is loyal to the State, not the Federal Government – and it must be understood that while the Federal Government is permitted to call for the militia – the States are not obligated to comply.

Article I – Section 8.
• The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
o To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;
o To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

Article II – Section 2.
• The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States

Amendment II (1791) – A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Amendment V (1791) – No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger

There is no room for argument; the Second Amendment exists to ensure the security of the member States. An armed population, loyal to their beliefs and under the command of their State Government, is a formidable deterrent force against any internal or external threat – especially one from a treasonous Federal Government.

“You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass.” — Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto

The lesson – The Second Amendment documents that the people have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms – and that the Federal Government is constitutionally forbidden to “infringe” (interfere with) this right in any way. The continued efforts by foolish representatives of the Federal Government to interfere with this right of the people is treasonous – and pushes us closer and closer to a “call to arms” by the States.

“The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” — Thomas Jefferson

The Pentagon’s War On Religion

Flickr Creative Commons Greendyker No Christianity logo The Pentagon’s War on Religion

With the repeal of the Clinton era “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy allowing gays to quietly serve in America’s armed forces, the politically correct goons in the Department of Defense are working to silence any opposition to the gay agenda. Military Chaplains are being silenced. Soldiers are being taught to equate Christians with extremists and racists who preach violence against non-believers.

The Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty sent a letter to the House Armed Services Committee, warning that Military Chaplains are being threatened by higher brass to keep quiet about their opposition to homosexual marriages.  The organization has pointed out that in some cases, Chaplain military careers have been damaged; and at least one man of the cloth was told to resign. Despite denial from a Pentagon spokesman, the reality of Chaplains in the field proves otherwise. After all, the Commander in Chief opposes any freedom of religion protections for chaplains or troops.

A recent incident involved military personnel identifying Christians and Jews as extremists or members of a hate group. A U.S. Army Instructor identified members of Christian and Jewish groups as extremists, equating them with al-Qaeda and the Ku Klux Klan! Despite denials from the Pentagon that this was indeed Army policy, the mere fact that it was part of a lesson plan should raise flags. After all, the instructor was using training materials supplied by the US Army. Where the Army obtained them is another story. Maybe they were on sale by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

An Army Lt. Col. from Ft. Campbell, Kentucky sent an e-mail to subordinates warning that any Christian groups that oppose homosexuality are hate groups and to “look out” for troops that may support these groups. To quote the colonel, “they aren’t upholding Army values.” Really?  Is this man’s Army no longer allowed to honor God and Country?

General George Washington was a religious man who wanted to side with divine providence. In order to ensure the Blessings of God, he required that the Army have Chaplains. Today, it appears that the military of General Dempsey–with advice from the gay and Muslim communities–is quietly trying to disband the Chaplain corps.

Homosexual Bullies Try To Force Priest From University

gay pride flag 3 SC Homosexual bullies try to force priest from university

Two outspoken gay advocates are doing their best to coerce George Washington University to remove Father Greg Shaffer from campus, based on his adherence to Biblical teachings.

Damian Legacy and Blake Bergen, both seniors at GWU, made it clear they think Shaffer’s rhetoric is hateful and have staged a protest set to last until he is dismissed from his position as chaplain.

Shaffer, of course, has only espoused a view of homosexuality held by the majority of Christians – and many other faiths – across denominational lines.

He teaches the act is immoral, as are any number of sins one can commit.

The radical gay agenda teaches that anything less than a complete endorsement of their sexual perversion equals de facto discrimination, though, so these students contend there is no place on campus for his outdated views.

Refreshingly, those touched by Shaffer’s message of hope and salvation are speaking out loudly in support of the beleaguered priest.

One blog described him as “self-sacrificing” and “encouraging,” while some students shared their experiences with the spiritual leader.

According to one post, Shaffer’s “kindness and unconditional affection” helped the writer “realize that I was loved despite my mistakes.”

The pathetic irony of these gay students seeking to silence an opposing view while citing their own right to free speech is apparent to the intellectually honest.

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, called the protest a “serious civil issue,” calling on GWU to engage in a “campus wide discussion on the meaning of the First Amendment.”

This nation’s all-important Bill of Rights has long been bastardized in an attempt to protect certain segments of the population while stripping the rights of those our leaders deem problematic.

The frustrating result is that traditional morality is sacrificed to benefit those who embrace a new, “enlightened” sense of entitlement and inclusion.

Those of us on the religious right, however, will never be included.

Political Correctness And Fascism

Politically Correct Progressive Trickle Down Outhouse SC Political Correctness and Fascism

Political correctness is like a tsunami in that no one understands the extent of its danger until after the massive wave sweeps across the land and then recedes.

Early on, in the first term of the Obama administration, we felt the rumblings of the earthquake that always precedes the storm when President Obama set the tone for how he expected sensitive issues to be handled. It wasn’t long before the Global War on Terror was renamed “Overseas Contingency Operation.” The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) quickly followed suit when it redefined terrorist attacks as “man caused disasters.” A case of trickle-down idiocy, I suppose, considering that changing a name only makes for a temporary fix.

I learned that lesson as a kid, having been blessed with two sets of teeth, requiring a number of dentist visits to remove the stubborn baby ones. After the first disastrous visit (for all parties involved), because I kicked the dentist when he gave me a shot, my mom decided to change the name “dentist office” to “ice cream stand” to get me in the car. It worked once, just up until our car pulled into the dentist office parking lot rather than the ice cream stand. Fool me once…

That night, my parents had a grownup conversation with me (at me, really), explaining it was going to be unpleasant, but had to be done. To their credit, I have a decent smile today but still get a weird feeling inside when I see an ice cream stand. Although I didn’t realize it then, that experience taught me a valuable lesson about political correctness, in that switching labels doesn’t change traits.

Currently, there is a strong push by the left to change America into the opposite of everything that makes this country exceptional. They are using political correctness to get there by relabeling things once considered honorable and wholesome as inappropriate, and things once considered immoral as good. What they do not realize is they are trapping themselves in the process. Exchanging God-endowed freedoms for man-made rules is never a fair trade.

This was recently on display in a smaller, but still toxic, military reservist sensitivity training workshop in Pennsylvania that would make Bill Maher proud when the person in charge listed Jews, Catholics, and Christians as religious extremists alongside al Qaeda and the KKK. As you can see, inclusivity is not always a good thing.

The military was quick to respond, promising it was an isolated event; but it seemed a bit misplaced considering the magnitude of faith-filled military veterans out there who have managed to love God and serve their country without pulling a “Nidal Hasan” on fellow soldiers. In the name of political correctness, Hasan’s alleged heinous act was kindheartedly labeled “work place violence” by the Obama administration, which also denied Purple Hearts to well-deserving soldiers at Fort Hood. Rather than calling it for what it is, the administration treated the massacre as if it were a mass pencil stabbing.

It works both ways. Obama had the opportunity to taste his own bitter medicine when he recently complimented California’s Kamala Harris by telling her she is “by far the best looking attorney general in the country.” The PC police swarmed, demanding Obama take gender sensitivity classes. He apologized, and the tsunami grew… and increased when free speech was culled after news journalists were told they can no longer use certain terms like “illegal alien.” And the tide will expand further if the two gay students at George Washington University who demanded the ousting of a Catholic priest because he spoke about his church’s not-so-politically correct teachings about homosexuality get their way.

The monstrous PC wave will continue to rise until it can no longer contain itself and then will explode across America, drowning our freedom and leaving fascism in its wake.

Sequester Government

Sequester SC Sequester Government

What happened to the crisis predicted by President Barack Obama as a result of the $85 billion sequester cut in government spending? Well, it turns out there was none: the food inspectors, the Yellowstone rangers, the border police, the military tuition granters, the Coast Guard, the airport screeners—none of them were laid off. The Pentagon has “delayed” the furlough notices planned for 800,000 civilian defense workers, probably forever. The air controllers are still threatening furloughs and consequent delays, but it will not happen. The president did not even carry out his threat to eliminate the Easter Egg Roll or the White House tours.

However, The Standard & Poors 500 stock average went up 9 percent, and the economy added 356,000 jobs since the sequester passed. Some crisis! A few more sequesters and the economy might even rise from its slumber. But do not count on it. The president promises no more domestic spending cuts.

What, you noticed there really were no cuts as a result of the sequester? The mainstream media kept it pretty quiet, but last year’s Washington spending was $3,538 billion; and after the sequester’s supposed cuts, the government will spend $3,553 billion. A little subtraction shows that is a $15 billion increase in government spending. Rack it up to creative accounting. Only in Washington D.C. would spending $15 billion more than in the previous year be called a cut.

The bad news is that the sequester will be the end of even paper cuts for the next four years. Even the Republican budget is not about real spending reductions. The Paul Ryan plan has no chance of passing the Senate, much less surviving a veto. It ignores the biggest  program (Social Security) and defers reform in the program that is most in debt (Medicare). Most of the Ryan cuts come from the elimination of Obamacare, which will not happen as long as Obama is president. The Ryan budget is important to make a political case, but it is not serious cost cutting. His caution actually makes political sense. The entitlements are the Democrats’ programs, and it is their responsibility to reform them.

The whole idea of the bureaucracy not being able to handle a five to eight percent “cut” is ludicrous. During the first Reagan year, we cut domestic discretionary spending ten percent in real money with no one noticing a thing.  While the White House originally claimed cuts had to be made in the relatively small “projects, program, and activities” categories, the law actually required cuts in Budget Authority categories. There are 1,200 of these with very roughly 1,500 employees each. Any government manager who cannot assign the critical people to the essential work should be fired for incompetence, especially with all of the contracts, supplies, training, and perks that can be delayed first. His boss should be fired too, right up to the very top.

We might as well stop abusing George Washington’s name and re-label the nation’s capital “Sequester D.C.” One dictionary definition of sequester is to “withdraw into retirement.” With the coming entitlement financial explosion in the aging programs, retirement will be the only thing the national government will be able to afford. That is not all bad news. While it may be difficult to run national defense on fumes, most domestic federal programs can be run better at the state or local level or privately anyway.

Let’s call it federalism by the back door. As the government keeps spending more and more on the elderly, the abusive welfare state regulatory programs must be paired back. All national government taxation will be sequestered to retirement spending, and the Federal Government will become the Department of Gerontology. All societal energy will be local and private. Back in the old days before Obama, progressive intellectuals realized this and were for entitlement reforms to save their regulatory state. All conservatives need to do now is sit back and watch the fun as progressives starve their own creation.

Gun Control, Hollywood, And Violent Ignorance

Gun Control SC Gun Control, Hollywood, And Violent Ignorance

They sure won’t be backing off the push for gun control in America anytime soon, but legislative efforts and proposals to curb gun use ignore the nonstop violence promoted by the entertainment industry.

A majority of American adults, 80%, agree with the statement that “violent games and films contribute to violence in society.” That’s according to a brand new Vanity Fair/60 Minutes nationwide poll. Of those respondents, 45% believe those media contribute a lot to societal violence, while 35% believe it contributes “some.”

Massive evidence is available, and countless studies prove the effects of simulated violence on all consumers, but especially on children. Why is Hollywood pardoned for the carnage its product constantly produces? It’s difficult to confront Hollywood decision-makers and hold them accountable when they’re helping get you reelected.

In a 2013 study, the Culture and Media Institute found that in the Top 5 movies – in just one weekend – the tally included 65 scenes depicting violence, 185 people killed, shot, stabbed, beaten, burned, blown up, etc.  Hollywood supporters talk about gun control but are unwilling to address the issue with the entertainment industry.

Meanwhile, Hollywood continues producing the most violent, sadistic movies, television programs, and morbid video games that glorify graphic violence and mayhem. Our culture has been desensitized, similar to the blood-thirsty crowds in the Roman Coliseum thousands of years ago being entertained by human slaughter. One difference is we’re exposed to more violence and death than they could have imagined.

But if this was part of the problem, people would address it honestly – wouldn’t they?

Just a few days ago, California Senator Dianne Feinstein made another plea to ban assault weapons in one of her greatest hits as far as quotes go. Feinstein stated:

We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines. Limiting magazine capacity is critical, because it is when a criminal, a drug dealer, a deranged individual has to pause to change magazines and reload that, the police or brave bystanders have the opportunity to take that individual down.

The heart of the problem today doesn’t lie with the instruments and tools of violence. We can’t outlaw hammers, shovels, knives, and rope, for example. To ban them would not stop evil because evil always finds another method. The Bible teaches that the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked, (Jer. 17:9), and America has all but abandoned God.

It’s no wonder we continue to fill Planned Parenthood dumpsters; too many Americans value choice (self) more than they value life.

George Washington, among others, emphasized religion and morality as primary foundations for a free, successful society. This is what the American way relies upon; and the more God is removed, the less morality we will have. Our Founding Fathers believed it would be unpatriotic to remove God from the public square.

In the 1960’s, the Left increased their efforts targeting American classrooms, courtrooms, newsrooms, Hollywood, government, and even our churches to promote moral relativism and minimize our Judeo-Christian way of life. In that decade, they truly advanced their agenda to eradicate God from the United States; and we’re living with the results today.

Be reminded our rights don’t come from man, but from the God of creation. If government had given us our rights, government could take them away. Chairman Mao Zedong and his regime of godless communists executed more people than anyone in world history. His view was basically that right and wrong is determined by who has all the guns.

When moral and religious standards decrease, chaos and crime increase. Passing gun legislation is just a politicized answer to a spiritual issue. We are naïve to think we can eliminate evil when few truly understand the cause. We need common sense, especially in politics.

Illinois Democrat Jan Schakowsky recently said that they were on a roll now with gun control, and we’re gonna push as hard as we can and as far as we can.” In other words, the assault weapons ban is really the tip of the iceberg for liberals. Schakowsky isn’t shy about admitting to liberal agendas the media refuses to report on. For example, in 2009, she told a crowd that the goal of Obamacare would be to “put the private insurance industry out of business.”

And who can forget – in an admission caught on tape – during a discussion on drilling when liberal Democrat Maxine Waters admitted they’d be about “socializing” and “taking-over” the oil companies. They want power and control.

In other government power grabs, we now know the Obama administration could legally use deadly force against Americans inside the U.S., authorizing itself to shoot anyone thought to be a threat. Drones are something right out of a Hollywood movie – but this time, it’s not a movie.

We can continue having gun debates and policy arguments, but this doesn’t address a few core issues. Man has an evil, sinful nature; and without God, there’s little hope for this country. We place too high a priority on entertainment. Hollywood keeps promoting unlimited violence; and in one way or another, America keeps paying for it.

Does Taking An Oath On The Constitution Count For Anything?

constitution quill pen SC Does Taking an Oath on the Constitution Count for Anything?

News stories are making their way around that newly sworn-in CIA Director John Brennan took the oath of office on the 1787 draft version of the Constitution.

“There’s one piece of this that I wanted to note for you,” spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters at their daily briefing. “Director Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution that had George Washington’s personal handwriting and annotations on it, dating from 1787.”

Anyone familiar with constitutional history knows that the 1787 version of the Constitution does not contain the first Ten Amendments – the Bill of Rights. Several states would not ratify the Constitution as drafted. They wanted further assurance that the national government would be limited. The full-version of the Constitution that includes the first Ten Amendments (12 were proposed) was finally ratified on May 29, 1790.

Some people see the makings of a conspiracy because the Constitution on which Brennan took his oath did not include the Bill of Rights. Personally, I don’t see it, for three reasons. First, the original Bill of Rights-less Constitution is a document of enumerated powers. If there is no power granted in the Constitution, then the Federal government doesn’t have that power. Some have argued that adding the Bill of Rights was a mistake since it gave the national government the right to rule on the items listed, thus, giving it jurisdiction in decision making. A right given can be a right taken away.

Second, who pays attention to the Constitution these days? The Constitution is a prop. There are politicians who regularly speak against constitutional limitations and freedoms and vote that way as well. The Second Amendment debate is a good example.
