Gawker Responds To Fox Threats With Photo Of O’Reilly And Topless Woman

The Cutline: The law firm Epstein Becker & Green P.C. has sent a legal threat on behalf of Fox News to Gawker Media publisher Nick Denton over his site’s ongoing “Fox Mole” story involving recently fired Fox News employee Joe Muto.
Gawker published the full letter, which states, “Be advised that Muto’s admissions are admissions of likely criminal and civil wrongdoing on both his and Gawker’s part, which will be the subject of further extensive investigation. Fox News will pursue its rights and remedies in the appropriate legal forums.”
The letter goes on to say, “Gawker should immediately stop publishing information and videos that have been unlawfully obtained by or from Joe Muto, and return them to Fox News.”

Gingrich Unloads On FOX News In Private Meeting

DOVER, Del. — During a meeting with 18 Delaware Tea Party leaders here on Wednesday, Newt Gingrich lambasted FOX News Channel, accusing the cable network of having been in the tank for Mitt Romney from the beginning of the Republican presidential fight. An employee himself of the news outlet as recently as last year, he also cited former colleagues for attacking him out of what he characterized as personal jealousy.
“I think FOX has been for Romney all the way through,” Gingrich said during the private meeting — to which RealClearPolitics was granted access — at Wesley College. “In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than FOX this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of FOX, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of FOX. That’s just a fact.”
Gingrich’s contract as a FOX News contributor was terminated last spring as he geared up for his White House run.
The former House speaker’s blunt remarks came in response to a question from one of the state Tea Party leaders about the manner in which his campaign has been treated by conservative media outlets.
Gingrich did not pull his punches in accusing Rupert Murdoch — the chairman and CEO of News Corp., FOX News’ parent company — of pushing for Romney behind the scenes.

Fox ‘Mole’ Outed

The fellow’s name is Joe Muto and now we know why he can’t get a job anywhere else in the industry. It’s not because he is “blackballed” because he works at Fox. It’s because he is a liar, a thief, and a lazy, unambitious clock puncher.
After 8 years working at Fox, he rose from production assistant to associate producer. Eight years? A real up and comer this one. If I were a news executive at another network and I saw the lack of promotion after 8 years, I’d question everything about this fellow – including his work ethic and character.
No matter – the “mole” is hardly in a position to bring down the network, much less dish on the inner workings of the editorial staff. As it is, Fox easily figured out who the mole was – Mr. Muto evidently isn’t very bright – and canned him:
Two hours ago I was called into a meeting with Dianne Brandi, the Fox News Executive Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs and suspended indefinitely… with pay, oddly enough.
They nailed me.
In the end, it was the digital trail that gave me away. They knew that someone, using my computer login, had accessed the sources for two videos that ended up on Gawker over the past few weeks. They couldn’t prove it entirely, but I was pretty much the only suspect.
I denied it, which is why they didn’t fire me outright. But two nice gentlemen from security escorted me to my desk to pack up my stuff, and it was pretty obvious at that point that I would not be setting foot back into 1211 Avenue of the Americas again.

Fox News Hires Supporter Of Jeremiah Wright And Derrick Bell

Fox News is once again moving to the left, hoping to avoid left-wing attacks on its news operations and commentators. But the move risks alienating conservative viewers. The current controversy involves new Fox News contributor Santita Jackson, who lists the notorious Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr., as being among her personal “activities and interests” on her Facebook page.
Wright, who was Obama’s pastor for 20 years and baptized Obama’s children, became a major controversial figure during the 2008 presidential campaign when it became known that he blamed the 9/11 terrorist attacks on American foreign policy and claimed the U.S. manufactured the AIDS virus to kill black people.
The link on the Santita Jackson page, which promotes matters of personal interest to Ms. Jackson and other things she likes to do, directs people to Wright’s official home page.

Fox Veers Left, Hires Jesse Jackson’s Daughter

The Washington Examiner is reporting that the supposed bastion of conservative news, the Fox News Channel, has veered a little further to the left by hiring Jesse Jackson’s eldest daughter, Santita, who is a Chicago talk-radio personality.
Jackson will join a growing legion of left-wingers at Fox that includes Jehmu Greene and Sally Kohn. Greene is the former president of the Women’s Media Center, which was founded by Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan and Gloria Steinem, and Kohn is a former senior strategist for the Soros-funded Center for Community Change.
Fox’s moves to beef up its liberal lineup continue to confound conservatives who see no need for the top-rated cable news network to give liberals even more of a voice than they currently have. They already have MSNBC and CNN, along with the rest of the mainstream media.

How Can The U.S. Return To A Gold Standard?

This is a classic from the vaults. I miss Judge Napolitano’s show which was cashiered by the liberals that are slowly wrestling control of Fox News. First Glenn Beck was canceled, then Napalitano, I wouldn’t be surprised if they gun for Sean Hannity next.
But more to the point in this segment you will see a plan laid out which could restore America as a land of honest money. The politicians don’t want this, but it would be great for citizens and the economy.
Fox News Reporter Lets It Rip At Occupiers

Eli Stokols is a well-known politics reporter for the local Fox affiliate, KDVR-TV, in Denver. But he didn’t get much respect from local Occupy protesters while trying to do a live report last week, and he finally reached his frustration limit over it. In a new video making the rounds, Stokols can be seen letting the Occupiers have it.

Was Fox News Pulling For Romney?
According to the RealClearPolitics website, Newt Gingrich recently told a Tea Party meeting in Delaware, “I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through. In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That’s just a fact.”
Fox News swung back hard and released a statement attacking Gingrich saying, “This is nothing other than Newt auditioning for a windfall of a gig at CNN — that’s the kind of man he is. Not to mention that he’s still bitter about the fact that we terminated his contributor contract.”
Obviously, there is no affection between Fox News and Gingrich.
But Gingrich isn’t alone in his complaints. In March, Rick Santorum complained on air about Fox News bias. Santorum said of Romney: “He’s had Fox News shilling for him every day.”
Fox News holds a special place in Republican primaries. The network was built as an alternative to overtly biased news dispensed at competing mainstream networks. Roger Ailes, the programing genius that constructed Fox News, understood the power of counter-programming against an overtly biased and monolithically liberal competition.
Fox News programing builds a large and loyal audience with Republican sympathies. Thus, a charge of bias in the primary is a significant allegation.
We speak to many conservative activists around the country with fears similar to Gingrich. Some activists make the even more serious charge that Fox News is morphing into just another liberal- leaning voice similar to their mainstream cousins, CNN and MSNBC.
These activists point to the sacking of Glenn Beck and Judge Andrew Napolitano as examples of conservative and libertarian voices being silenced.
Some pro-Israeli organizations also believe that Fox News Middle East coverage has changed also.
Fox News is an important vehicle for sharing right-leaning ideas with a large audience. In our opinion, they have never been pro-conservative, but they allowed conservative ideas to get equal billing. Conservative ideas don’t need promotion by any news outlet, but they do need expression in an outlet.
If Fox News does change, it will lead to the growth of more alternative media. The Internet is the future of news, and if Fox alienates its current right-of-center constituency, then they will move to places with a fairer and more balanced approach.
Fox News is number one because of fair and balanced coverage, but if they become one sided (or don’t allow competing views), they will soon shrink and lose their preeminent position.
