Cowardly Obama Suppresses Fast And Furious “Smoking Gun”

Obama Holder Fast And Furious SC Cowardly Obama suppresses Fast and Furious “Smoking gun”

Under questioning by Senator Charles Grassley, Attorney General Eric Holder testified that a handful of emails written to Department of Justice officials by former ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson are being withheld illegally from congressional committees as a result of Barack Obama’s claim of executive privilege.  Kept now under lock and key thanks to the June 20th order,  the emails have been described by Melson as “smoking guns” in that–contrary to Holder’s testimony to Congress–they “show senior DOJ officials knew about and approved the gun walking tactics in Fast and Furious.”

Fifteen months ago, Melson began his own investigation of Fast and Furious by reading through the wiretap affidavits sent by the ATF to Main Justice in Washington.  He found that the information included in the necessarily detailed documents bore little resemblance to the “facts” that had earlier been relayed to Congress by Assistant Attorney General Ron Weich. In a February 4th, 2011 letter to Senator Charles Grassley, Weich claimed that the ATF had not “sanctioned or otherwise knowingly allowed” weapons to be sold to straw purchasers or walked into Mexico. Of course, that infamous letter was retracted by the DOJ, only after the Department had maintained its assertions for a full 9 months.

The wiretap applications also made it clear that Eric Holder had lied when he repeatedly claimed to congressional committees that the DOJ knew nothing of the tactics ATF employed during the Operation. This is because wiretap applications—forms asking a court’s permission to perform a wiretap—are completed in extraordinary detail and list all previous tactical methods employed by law enforcement to gather evidence in a particular case. And each of the applications had been approved and signed by Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer, a top DOJ political appointee.

After reading the applications, Melson immediately addressed emails to a NUMBER of DOJ officials telling them to “…back off the [February 4th Weich] letter to Senator Grassley in light of the information in the affidavits (applications).” As Grassley himself later said of Melson “… he was alarmed the information in the affidavits contradicted the [DOJ’s] public denial to congress.” (1)

Sent to the Department in March of 2011, Melson’s emails alerted the DOJ to its false and potentially criminal claims just one month after the Weich letter and 3 months after the death of Brian Terry. The emails exposed lies perpetuated by both Weich and Eric Holder. Yet not only did the DOJ ignore Melson’s warnings; Holder continued his claims of innocence and ignorance on behalf of the Department and its officials—including, of course, himself.

The incriminating wiretaps applications have been sealed by a federal judge, so although copies were leaked to congressional committees, they cannot be released to the public or used in evidence against the DOJ.

And although Ken Melson informed Grassley and Issa of his emails and their content in a July 4th deposition to Committee representatives, the only copies are now sealed under Obama’s privilege order. Prior to that, the DOJ refused to provide them to Congress.

If a bare handful of documents prove the Fast and Furious guilt of Eric Holder and the Department of Justice, what could be revealed by the remaining 80,000 currently in Barack Obama’s “executive” custody? Will the American people ever know?

Meet The New Mitt, Same As The Old Mitt

Mitt Romney CPAC 2011 SC Meet The New Mitt, Same As The Old Mitt

Now that Mitt Romney has secured the GOP nomination, he is obviously free to be himself. His masquerade as a conservative is over as he has returned to many of the moderate-to-liberal stances he held as Governor of the People’s Republic of Massachusetts. He has also returned to being the polite politician who treats his Democratic opponents with respect.

Mitt Romney only gets nasty against other Republicans. In the GOP primary, the Governor eviscerated his opponents with high priced, non-stop, hard hitting attacks. He is not employing the same tactics in his general election showdown against President Obama, who he continues to refer to as a “nice guy.”

At the same time that Romney is playing nice, Barack Obama has been on a rampage, tearing to shreds the U.S. Constitution. On June 15 at the White House Rose Garden, Obama decided to issue de-facto amnesty to 1.4 million aliens who illegally entered the country at a young age. The President evidently decided that standing immigration laws do not apply to this category of individuals, who will now be able to apply for work permits and no longer have to face the threat of deportation. To the 23 million unemployed Americans looking for work, get ready to face more competition for scarce jobs. Romney’s response to this outrageous move is that he wants to seek “common ground” on the immigration issue. During an interview on “Face the Nation” last Sunday, Romney refused on five occasions to pledge that he would rescind the new Obama immigration policy.

Last week, the President issued a questionable Executive Privilege order protecting his Attorney General from congressional investigators and covering up documents that dealt with the scandalous Fast and Furious program. In response, the Governor should be condemning the President’s order, demanding that Holder resign and insisting on full transparency and the release of all documents. Instead, Romney’s response has been non-existent, as he has been “largely silent” on the Fast and Furious debacle that resulted in the death of a border patrol agent.

On Monday, the Supreme Court struck down three of the major provisions of the state of Arizona’s law dealing with illegal immigration. The justices upheld the remaining provision, which allows law enforcement to question suspected illegal aliens about their immigration status. After the ruling, it only took the Obama Department of Homeland Security several hours to rescind agreements with seven law enforcement agencies in Arizona. Thus, the federal government will provide no assistance to Arizona in dealing with illegal immigrants arrests, except those caught crossing the border or with felonies in their criminal history. Horace Cooper of the National Center for Public Policy characterized the administration’s move as “a complete disregard of the constitutional process.” As noted by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Obama told Arizona to “drop dead.”

With the U.S. Constitution, law-abiding Arizona residents, and a Republican Governor under attack, what did presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney say? His spokesman refused to condemn the Supreme Court ruling or offer support for the Arizona immigration law. After being hounded by reporters for an answer and evading 20 questions on the issue, Romney spokesman Rick Gorka offered this meek response: “The Governor supports the right of states, that’s all we’re going to say on the issue.”

When the people of Arizona, the conservative movement, and the GOP needed a champion, Romney hid under his moderate cloak. He did the same disappearing act several weeks ago when President Obama announced his support for gay marriage. This cowardice in the face of controversial issues should alarm conservatives. It does not bode well for a potential Romney administration. It is another indication that the worries of conservatives about Romney were well founded.

Romney masqueraded as a conservative in the Republican primaries. Now he is being his true self, the Massachusetts Moderate. If he is elected as President, he will be another George H. W. Bush who will manage the growth of government, not seriously curtail it. He will work with Democrats, not oppose their socialist agenda. He will use government to “solve” problems and not provide the only real solution, limited government.

So-called political experts claim that any Republican presidential nominee must “move to the middle” to win the general election. Romney is obviously following this advice; however, just the opposite is true. America is thirsting for a conservative alternative to Obama. Voters want a real choice, not an echo. Romney should be clearly differentiating his positions with the President on all issues, not just the economy.

At this time in our history, illegal immigration is a vitally important issue. Millions of citizens along  the southern border with Mexico feel overrun with illegal immigrants and are frustrated by a federal government that refuses to take action.

Romney is trying to placate the Latino vote by toning down his rhetoric on this issue. During the Republican primaries, Romney expressed staunch support for the Arizona immigration law. Today, his spokesman goes to great lengths to avoid the issue.

Sadly, Romney does not possess the core conservative principles that the Republican Party and this nation desperately needs.

Governor Romney may become our nation’s 45th President, but as his tap dancing on these issues proves, he will not govern as a conservative.

Issa: We Will Make Sure The Terry Family Gets Their Answers

Congressman Darrell Issa appeared on Sean Hannity’s show the other night to discuss the latest developments in the “Fast and Furious” investigation.

Issa’s Right: Tougher Gun Laws Fast And Furious Goal

Darrell Issa SC Issas Right: Tougher Gun Laws Fast And Furious Goal

Scandal: The head of the House oversight panel suggests the real reason for the administration’s invoking executive privilege in the Fast and Furious case is to hide proof that the operation was part of a push for gun control.

Defenders of President Obama’s use of executive privilege to provide cover for Attorney General Eric Holder in the gun-running fiasco that resulted in the deaths of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE Agent Jaime Zapata may dismiss it as just another conspiracy theory. But the suggestion by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., that the deadly operation was conceived to advance the administration’s gun-control agenda is quite plausible.

“Here’s the real answer as to gun control,” Issa said on ABC’s “This Week”: “We have email from people involved in this that are talking about using what they’re finding here to support the — basically assault weapons — ban or greater reporting.”

Issa was asked about the possible connection after comments he made at an NRA convention. “Could it be,” he said on NRA News’ “Cam & Company” program, “that what they really were thinking of was in fact to use this walking of guns in order to promote an assault weapons ban? Many think so. And they haven’t come up with an explanation that would cause any of us not to agree.”

Perhaps the answer is in the documents that Holder and Obama are risking much to hide.

What Hispanics Want

Republican Democrat SC 300x171 What Hispanics Want

November is coming. The election is looming, and it looks like it might be a close one. To boost his re-election chances, President Obama has been looking to secure the Hispanic vote, first with targeted campaign adds, and then with a “quick fix” executive order bringing a halt to the deportation of certain young illegals.

But will this deliberate pandering really secure the Hispanic vote? What do Hispanics want, really? The answer to that second question is much simpler than you would think.

Hispanics want the same things as other Americans. They want to be able to get a job and feed their families. They want to live in peace, without the fear of their own government spying on them with drones or selling weapons to the drug cartels that are massacring their extended families in Mexico. They want their children to grow up in a  country where traditional values are celebrated, not suppressed.

In all these areas, President Obama’s record leaves much to be desired. The economy is still sluggish, with high unemployment and no end in sight. The stimulus packages have done nothing to alleviate the people’s suffering and have piled trillions in debt on their heads instead. The Obama administration continues its desperate fight to cover up the Fast and Furious disaster, showing that it treats the safety of (and accountability to) its citizens as a joke. And, to add insult to injury, President Obama supports forcing private health insurance to cover birth control, religious objections be damned.

Ronald Reagan famously asked, “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” when running against Jimmy Carter and the lackluster results of his presidential term. On Election Day, this will be the burning question on voters’ minds. Hispanics are no exception.

‘Obama Truth Team’ Orders Website Shut Down

A political website that contained stinging criticism of the Obama administration and its handling of the Fast and Furious scandal was ordered to be shut down by the Obama campaign’s ‘Truth Team’, according to private investigator Douglas Hagmann, who was told by ISP GoDaddy his site contained information that was “maliciously harmful to individuals in the government.”

Hagmann, CEO of Hagmann Investigative Services, Inc., a private investigative agency serving a roster of Fortune 500 clients, was given 48 hours by GoDaddy to find a new home for his website before it was deleted.

Hagmann was told the reason for the shut down was because the website featured “morally objectionable” material. After GoDaddy refused to identify the complainant, only saying that it was not “any official government agency,” further investigation by Hagmann revealed that the order came from a group tied to Obama campaign headquarters.

Speaking with the chief investigator in the GoDaddy Abuse division, Hagmann discovered, “Ultimately it was found that the complaint originated ostensibly with a group associated with the campaign to re-elect Barack Hussein Obama.”

Turning to his contacts within government, Hagmann then spoke with another source who confirmed that the ‘Obama Truth Team’ was responsible for the shut down order.

Why GOP Might Accommodate Obama Yet Again

John Boehner 3 SC Why GOP Might Accommodate Obama Yet Again

Barack Obama’s invocation of executive privilege to keep subpoenaed documents from congressional committees investigating Fast and Furious came as rather a shock to many DC observers. It wasn’t that pundits were surprised the “most transparent administration in history” had chosen to OFFICIALLY cover up the Fast and Furious affair.  After all, no one actually believed Obama’s phony openness claims in the first place.

What really confounded Administration friends and foes alike was the fact that Obama invoked the privilege in the face of such an extensive body of disapproving legal precedent. “Where there is reason to believe…documents sought may shed light on government misconduct, ‘the privilege is routinely denied…’” wrote the DC District Court of Appeals in the Clinton era US v Espy case. How could a former instructor of law make such an obvious and fundamental legal “error?”

It’s a safe bet that Eric Holder and Barack Obama worked out the executive privilege idea well in advance of the Attorney General’s scheduled meeting with Darrell Issa. It was, after all, a worst case, fallback scheme the pair undoubtedly agreed must be implemented should Oversight Committee chair Issa refuse Holder’s last-minute attempt to buffalo the Congressman and Republican leaders into accepting the AG’s testimony in lieu of subpoenaed documents.

In fact, the privilege claim was only invoked after a year of stonewalling had failed, threatening to result in an embarrassing contempt charge that even the 90% of national media types who had buried the Fast and Furious story would eventually be forced to report. Yet, although political fallout resulting from the contempt vote and the illegally advanced privilege claim would be swift, it would be NOTHING compared to the nuclear blast resulting from a release of documents that proved Obama and Holder had been in on the implementation and ensuing cover-up of the Fast and Furious debacle from the very beginning. Documents yielding such a revelation obviously had to be denied the Committee and the American public at all costs, as a loss in November might be accompanied by a stretch in Leavenworth.

Though Barack Obama knew a political firestorm would accompany his claim of executive privilege, it was a decision he was forced to make.

Yet, incredibly, Obama might have a way out. First of all, rumor has it that neither Mitt Romney nor House Republican leaders want what they consider the distraction of Fast and Furious to divert attention from their campaign on the disastrous Obama economy. So there remains a very real possibility that the Regime can make a deal with John Boehner in which a few carefully selected documents might be turned over in exchange for an end to the contempt vote and further subpoenas. Everything would go away in favor of concentrating on the campaign, making both Obama and DC Republicans very happy.

Moreover, there is no way a lawsuit over the privilege claim could make its way through the legal system before the election. So if Obama wins in November, it will be back to obfuscate and dissemble. And if he loses, Republicans will almost certainly drop the investigation lest they be accused of persecuting the first minority president and attorney general for the racist purpose of schooling blacks on the dangers inherent in aiming too high… getting too uppity!

Obama had to short-circuit the Fast and Furious probe until after the election and take the attending political heat. It was in part a play for time that has provided him the opportunity of making a deal with those Republicans more interested in political expedience than in doing what’s right. Remember, John Boehner put off the contempt vote of the full House until this week, evidently in the hope a deal could be worked out in the interim.

If there is no contempt vote by Friday, we’ll know Obama’s privilege claim worked beautifully. We’ll also know that conservatives have once again been sold out by the Republican brass.

Fast And Furious Protest On White House North Lawn Set For July 2nd

White House SC Fast and Furious protest on White House North Lawn set for July 2nd

I know the pink slime media will ignore this, but I hope conservative blogs and social media spreads this protest like wild fire. A protest for Obama and Eric Holder’s coverup of Fast and Furious is set for DC on July 2nd from 10:00am until 12:30pm in EDT. The Facebook event page for this protest has been set up.

Fast and Furious is one of the biggest government scandals in recent history.

President Obama would rather protect corrupt officials like Attorney General Holder, than ensure justice for those harmed by Operation Fast and Furious.

The blood of border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, and many others, are on the hands of President Obama and AG Holder.

Protest President Obama and AG Holder in front of the White House’s North Lawn, and show our government that the American people won’t stand for secrecy and corruption!

Issa Challenges Obama Executive Privilege Claim

Darrell Issa SC Issa Challenges Obama Executive Privilege Claim

With a vote looming to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, a House committee chairman is challenging President Barack Obama’s claim of executive privilege, invoked to maintain secrecy for some documents related to a failed gun-tracking operation.

Obama’s claim broadly covers administration documents about the program called Operation Fast and Furious, not just those prepared for the president. But Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that recommended the contempt charge, maintains the privilege is reserved for documents to and from the president and his most senior advisers.

In a letter to the president dated Monday and made public Tuesday, Issa cited an appellate court decision to back his claim and questioned whether Obama was asserting a presidential power “solely for the purpose of further obstructing a congressional investigation.”

Some experts agree with the president’s view that all executive branch documents are protected from disclosure. Ohio State University law professor Peter Shane, a specialist in presidential power, says executive privilege historically covers documents generated anywhere in the executive branch.

Behind the legal argument is a political dispute. House Republican leaders are pressing for a contempt vote against Holder by Friday, unless they can work out a deal that breaks through the administration’s privilege claim.

DOJ Lackey Unwittingly Exposes Holder’s Fast And Furious Lies

On February 4, 2011, the Department of Justice sent a letter to Congress adamantly denying that guns were ever walked across the border. As emails, memos, and whistleblowers came forth detailing not only guns being walked, but the ATF “encouraging” gun dealers to sell to known straw buyers (some even being videotaped), DOJ finally withdrew this letter after a full ten months.

While the Fast and Furious scandal has been raging on social media on literally thousands of conservative websites, the mainstream media has ignored the issue. Until recently, NBC had devoted something like one minute of coverage over the entire eighteen months of the Senate and House investigations.

This has all changed with Obama’s June 20th Executive Privilege invocation as well as Eric Holder being found in Contempt of Congress by the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Obama has put the lid on approximately 80,000 documents that Congressional investigators have subpoenaed (that Holder has refused to turn over), and Obama and his MSM cronies have gone from ignore mode to attack mode in literally twenty-four hours.

The liberal talking heads have been making the rounds on all the news circuits, obviously using talking points, as everyone is using the same terms: witch hunt, fishing expedition, partisan politics, etc. And of course, the politics of personal destruction, the race card, and now Pelosi’s ludicrous charge that Congress is out to get Holder in order to suppress minority voting has been making the rounds. Regarding Pelosi’s charge, the fact that the Fast and Furious investigation got under way much earlier than Holder’s one-man crusade against voter ID laws began didn’t seem to have deterred Pelosi in the least.

However, one of the odd liberal talking heads that has been making the rounds both on Fox and the liberal media is one Matthew Miller, former DOJ spokesman under Eric Holder. Miller claims to have been literally standing next to Holder when, in early 2011, he got the news that guns were being walked and that Holder put a stop to it. This is an odd statement, given that the February 4, 2011 letter stated unequivocally that guns were not being walked, so exactly what story Holder is trying to serve up now is not clear. What is clear is that we are watching a massive cover-up occur before our very eyes.
