Have any of the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant Barack Obama ordered released gone on to commit other crimes? Congressional Republicans think you deserve to know the answer, Congressional Democrats think finding out violate illegal aliens’ rights, and the president is praying you’ll never find out.
The House Immigration Subcommittee voted to subpoena the names of all illegal immigrants referred to the government but not deported after the administration stonewalled releasing the records. The decision to authorize a subpoena passed on a 7-4 party-line vote.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith said, “The American people have a right to know what crimes these 300,000 illegal immigrants committed after ICE intentionally chose not detain them.” Subcommittee chairman Elton Gallegly, R-CA, added he hoped to “uncover how many of these aliens committed additional crimes.” Meanwhile, Democrats on the committee insist subpoenas are unnecessary and do not respect illegals’ rights. Rep. John Conyers of Michigan claimed the administration is “acting in good faith,” and Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren of California worries the subpoenas are an invasion of the illegal immigrants’ privacy.
The subpoena the vote authorizes Congressman Smith to make will demand the names of all illegal immigrants identified by the Secure Communities program but released. On August 22, Smith requested the identities of these released “harmless” illegals. When DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano testified before Congress last week, Smith gave the department until October 31 to produce the names or face a subpoena.
Obama administration officials assumed Smith was bluffing. It assumed wrong.
Perhaps the most unremarked issue in the subpoena drama is the fact that the Obama administration has allowed 300,000 illegal immigrants to escape deportation. DHS admitted last week, of the 696,000 illegal immigrants local officials referred to immigration, it deported only 126,000 (although it says some turned out to be naturalized citizens).
Assuming the lower number is correct, that is the equivalent of a city the size of Pittsburgh circulating through the body politic. These illegals have already made contact with the law once, but the Left decided their infraction was insufficiently lethal to merit deportation (the penalty demanded by the law). By releasing them, the administration taught them the ease with which they may escape our legal strictures and bred contempt for their temporary homeland.
Tracking those several hundred thousand illegals may prove difficult. In a letter to Smith Wednesday, Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security Nelson Peacock wrote, “ICE does not track the circumstances of cases where no action is taken.” Like local officials in states affected by heavy illegal immigration, Smith appears more than willing to pick up the feds’ slack.
Unfortunately, we know the history of some of the Open Borders Lobby’s beneficiaries:
- Carlos A. Martinelly Montano, who hit and killed 66-year-old Benedictine nun Denise Mosier last August, had two prior convictions for drunk driving;
- Nicholas Guaman’s drunk driving cost the life of Matthew Denice. Guaman, who had several prior arrests, dragged Denice’s motorcycle a quarter-of-a-mile in during his inebriated act of manslaughter.
- ICE ordered four illegal immigrants released after police in Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania, arrested them in two separate traffic stops. Police cited three of them for going 57 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. One of the three, 33-year-old Carlos Cordona, had been recently arrested for assault. In May, ICE ordered the same police chief to release an illegal alien stopped for speeding, who was found to have two Access public benefit cards under two names.
Even the president’s uncle, Onyango Obama, was arrested for drunk driving on August 24 and subsequently released. Police in Framingham, Massachusetts, say they stopped the 67-year-old, whom his nephew calls “Uncle Omar,” after he nearly struck a police car outside The Chicken Bone restaurant. He, too, is on the streets today, receiving the same costly legal representation as the president’s aunt Zeituni Onyango enjoyed when she won the right to stay in America.

The vote to authorize a subpoena is a welcome sign of toughness — the first of two this week. The vote came one day before the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted to subpoena all Obama administration documents about the Solyndra scandal. That vote was also along party lines.
Government’s highest function is to protect its citizens from invasion and crime. The Obama administration has deliberately ignored this responsibility to curry favor with the Hispanic vote. Conservatives must demand this nation faithfully execute its duties, whether or not the president approves of it.

He got a foreign student scholarship to go to Occidental College, he was know by his fellow students as Barry Soetoro from grade school until he returned from his 1981 trip to Pakistan on his Indonesian passport and there after his name became Barack Obama.
As an American I am sick and tired of the left liberals bending over backwards to cater to illegals. This is an outrage and the Obama administration needs to held accountable for the crimes committed against the American people. Muslems are catered to. Illegal aliens are catered to. Homosexuals are catered to….but protection of the American people and our Constitutional rights is given little thought. When a person comes into a country illegally it is a crime, what is so difficult to understand about that. They are already a criminal with the first step across the border. I agree with you completely. The problem is our president is an illegal immigrant. He doesn’t think like an American because he isn’t an American. If he were, he would know that his paramount duty as president is to protect Americans.
This fake American doesn’t care about Americans, and he sure isn’t interested in protecting Americans when his primary concern is to get re-elected.
I thought SSN were issued around FDR’s term, not earlier…it’s impossible for him to have taken it from someone is 1890. However the first 3 numbers in O’s “SSN” registers to the North East region therefore not Hawaii…so either way everything he is and does is a fraud.
The man was born in 1890 but did not get his SSN until the 1970′s I think.

I am concerned about the ineligibility of Sri Obama; but what concerns me most is the number of unvetted Palestinian Muslims he started airlifting on his third day in The White House at taxpayers’ expense, solely by Executive Order. I wonder if they are still coming because in former times it was a rare occasion to see turbined people in flowing robes, but today they are all over, arrogantly threatening to overtake our country and kill all infidels. They are taking over entire cities such as Dearborn and Detroit, paying-off city police to protect them from intruders who, upon witnessing the beating of their wives, stoning their daughters to death and performing clitoridectomies on their baby girls, who could get them in trouble with the law. But a Judge in New Jersey recently ruled that a Muslim husband could beat his wife for sex so long as he didn’t leave marks!!! They are here and they have huge families. Recall that Osama bin Laden’s father sired more than fifty children, as many Muslims take multiple wives. How to get them deported?
How to get them to return to their homelands? There is no way. They have already infiltrated our Congress and the Obama administration. I pray a lot these days.
First of all, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. The 300,000 they’re referring to would probably fill just the inner city as we have a collective population of about 2 million including the suburbs. Be that as it may, the fact still remains we have a foreign-born rogue criminal “president” and administration who clearly have no respect for the law in general. Their main objective is to destroy this country and our Congress thus far has been letting them do it. Obviously, this has gone beyond due process with our legal system. The White House just rejected the subpoena they were served regarding Solyndra and they’ll do exactly the same with any other subsequent ones in the future. It’s getting to the point where those non-corrupt members of our military must take action and intervene.
Obama’s first speech was very impressive. Now, I don’t believe a syllable that comes out of his mouth. It is obvious he has NO basic American values…..NONE. Mistakes in American History abound. Where did he get this education again? Oh it’s a secret? His ignorance kind of let the cat of the bag, didn’t it? He must be removed from office ASAP.
One not eligible to be president, prob wouldn’t be eligible for impeachment either, would he? So we don’t care what name you call his crimes. Remove him from office and don’t make America support him and his flag burning never proud. Heaven knows the feeling is mutual. Do they imagine America is proud of a pres attending church with GOD DAMN AMERICA a common theme there? And the anti American politics are criminal.
