A state representative on Tuesday filed a bill that would require any candidate for president or vice president of the United States to show his or her birth certificate to the Texas secretary of state, another indication of just how ambitious the conservative agenda for next year’s session of the Texas Legislature is expected to be.
“This bill is necessary because we have a president whom the American people don’t know whether he was born in Kenya or some other place,” Rep. Leo Berman, R-Tyler, said in reference to President Barack Obama and of House Bill 295. “If you are running for president or vice president, you’ve got to show here in Texas that you were born in the United States and the birth certificate is your proof.”
Berman’s bill specifies that “the secretary of state may not certify the name of a candidate for president or vice-president unless the candidate has presented the original birth certificate indicating that the person is a natural-born United States citizen.”
If the Legislature passes the proposed legislation and Gov. Rick Perry signs it into law, it would become effective on Sept. 1, 2011, six months before the state holds its 2012 presidential primaries.

Who could actually be against this bill anyway. If they vote no on it, you know who to boot from office next time.
The usurper is ineligible no matter where he was born; he was a British subject at birth, with dual citizenship; therefore, not a natural-born citizen. The only possible way he could be eligible is IF Barack Obama, Sr. is not his real father. If that were the case, then he still lied to the American people. What is his real name? He's a Christian? Yes, Joe Wilson, he lies!! How do I know he lies? HIS LIPS ARE MOVING! Everything about this man is fraudulent!

They already are supposed to prove they are legal citizens to run for President. But this SOB in the Presidents Office didn't, & our Congress, so far, has done nothing about it. It will be up to the people to do what Congress is supposed to do. What good are new laws, when they are not enforced?

This is wonderful but, I'm at a loss at to why this hasn't been a law for all potential government electives? Most people that I talk to do not believe Obama was born here and they are very upset that he has not proved it and has gone to great length to not let anyone prove or dis-prove it. Why isn't the current government not pursuing this all too important question. I hope the newly elected have the gonads to put this on one of their first "things to do" list. Has socialism entered our society so deep that we're all suppose to just shrug this off? I don't think so. Not me and I hope not the majority of American people.
This bill could be a lot of hoopla about nothing; all candidates for any public office should show a birth certificate to prove citizenship, and for the President, to prove he is a Natural Born citizen. We should never allow any illegal candidate to be elected to office, and there have been a few who have run for a public office. If our leaders won't protect us from these abuses, then remove these traitors in whatever manner is the most expedient.
When it is signed into law, why wait until sept 11 0f 2011 to make it effective, make it effective retroactive to sept 11 of 2008. there fore the sob setting in our white house will have to get his sorry ass out of there tomorrow, and every thing and every one he put in place will have to go with him. put him on a slow boat to china, as the saying goes, without a passport, that way he and all his croonies will be "men and women with out a country."

In the case of Obama, the issue is greater as Obama was adopted / acknowledged in Indonesia by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The school records in Indonesia indicate Obama's name is "Barry Soetoro"; his nationality "Indonesia"; and his religion "Islam" which is Muslim.

Several matters:
1. Separate from where Obama was born is his status at the time he ran for President. In Obama's case, he was "not" natural born; and "not" even naturalized; but rather, believe it or not, Obama/Soetoro is an "illegal alien".
2. Obama's "legal" name is Barry Soetoro and therefore, he has and continues to fraudulently use the name of "Barack Hussein Obama". Yes, you can use an "alias", but not for fraudulent purposes.
Accordingly, the legislation shall state that the candidate must prove that he/she is "Constitionally Eligible"; that being "natural born" at the time of his/her filling for office.

They should have made obama provide his original legal birth certificate when he was campaigning for president, then we would know for sure if he was eligible to be president.
Looks to me the terrorists have creeped into our congress with kikes of Rockefeller, Polosi, Reid, and much of the democratic senators. Just another tool for these folks to spread their dictorial ways without a reliable news source to expose these dictatorial "bastards" for what they are!
I hope this bill, House Bill 295, Defines SPECIFICALY what an "original birth certificate" is and a Constitutional definition of EXACTLY what is a "Natural-born U.S. citizen", because everyone knows Marxist obama will point to his "short form CLB" as proof.
