A slew of organizations funded by billionaire George Soros have been utilizing the alleged News of the World phone hacking scandal in the U.K. to call for investigations of News Corporation’s U.S. interests, particularly Fox News Channel.
The Center for American Progress, heavily financed by Soros, said it gathered 12,000 signatures demanding to know whether News Corp. reporters violated U.S. law by obtaining phone records in the U.S.
The center is reportedly highly influential in helping to craft White House policy. It is led by John Podesta, who served as co-chairman of Obama’s presidential transition team.
Podesta this week told reporters his group wants the U.S. division of News Corp. probed for other possible offenses, including violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which prosecutes for bribery of foreign officials.
“We’ve called attention to the fact that – News Corp. is a U.S.-based corporation; that could implicate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act,” he said.

Buckminister how odd that you would mention that! That was my thinking as well. My theory on the one informant who presumably committed suicide is that his conscience got to her for saling out to Soros & was about to come clean with Murdoch about it so they ( Soros) had him eliminated.
It is evident to everyone, that Obama's friend, and White house visitor, George Soros, is out to ruin Rupert Murdoch, and in the process kill Fox news. This is asinine. When Dan Rather produced forged evidence designed specifically to undermine Bush 43's re-election campaign, there was no Congressional or DOJ investigation of CBS to seek out further intent within their news organization or any other division of the network. What The Center for American Progress is doing is akin to CBS, at that time, having their entertainment division investigated for something a news reporter did. News of the World is a foreign publication with zero ties to U.S. operated Fox News Channel. This would amount to a tremendous waste of our government's time and money, neither of which are in enough supply to engage in such a meaningless, unnecessary investigation. If Fox News was involved I'm fairly certain that the other news organizations would have unearthed their connection without wasting a dime of the government's money. This is nothing more than a red herring meant to score political points.
