I grew up having to defend my Blackness from primitive White racists in my home town. The only definition I’ve ever accepted of me is my own- NOT what others attempt to impose.
The last thing I ever wanted to be was a chocolate-colored reflection of their blind bias.
I knew the identity I was born into was formed from a time of forced conformity. It’s not a free orientation. As an ” uber individualist, ” to quote one observer, that became problematic as years passed.
This holdover identity from segregation has one mandate: unanimous consent keeps the racist sword of Damocles from falling.
This mandate has run its course.
I fully understand and appreciate its role as a survival mechanism, but now it’s devolved into often-crude thought-policing and, frankly, can’t address current problems.
Group-think isn’t reducing our murder rate. Nor the single mother household rate. Nor the increasing number of males under state supervision. Nor unemployment, middle-class asset attrition, and other negative quality-of-life indicators.
We demand nothing of the party we support and impose gag orders on frank discussion on our condition.
Such group-think gives Democrats our vote without them even needing to earn it. This group-think placed Obama on a pedestal so high that even his abject failure to address our economic crisis still earned him almost 100% of our vote.
Black now means Obama supporter. As an individualist, I don’t allow others to define me. That’s why I said for the duration of his second term, I’ll no longer call myself “Black” since this is now linked to approving of him.
“Bold” is my new ethnic identifier. It’s not a stretch since I’ve fought opposition without hesitation for a lifetime. After all the racism Black Baby Boomers and my Generation X has seen, it’s tragic to see us goosestep behind this brightest star in the Black Faces In High Places constellation.
Our group-think also places a gag order on denouncing a growing Ghetto class whose vulgarity and violence send Black professionals in orbit faster than the White Flight liberals love noting.
Bill Cosby is a liberal “mugged by reality”, to quote how former New York Mayor Ed Koch described himself. Cosby’s blessed assault on ghetto-centrism is applauded by many while opposed by fellow liberals more loyal to group-think than higher standards.
Cosby is an Obama supporter and reportedly took his dead parents’ photos with him when he voted. Since his net worth outpaces his detractors, I guess the group is too scared to challenge his ghetto denunciations.
The same goes for progressive icons Cornell West and Tavis Smiley, who tried to challenge our group-think from another angle: challenging Obama’s snub of the Black community throughout his first term.
A few high-profile dissidents is a good start, but not nearly enough. Hopefully, rumors of the intention of Black leaders to hold Obama more accountable will yield results.
The 21st Century shouldn’t see us marching lockstep behind people because of skin color and silent about a destructive faction, again because of skin dolor.
Just like I couldn’t be part of a subservient Black group in my racist hometown, neither can I be part of one now despite racists now resembling me.
No one man should be allowed to define community membership.
When Obama leaves Washington to return to private life, perhaps I’ll start calling myself Black again. The end result of my activism was never to be anyone’s flunky- regardless of color.
I’m Bold, not Black, now that it means “Obama worshipper.”

Blacks who do not support him are ridiculed and shunned, abused. It appears there’s more stupid out there than we thought. I too hope the right thinking blacks will band together and help us turn things around.

This is a great article. The truth is always great. I’m sure there are a lot of blacks who do not support Obama. The ones running for office get severely slandered and maligned. That’s what the Demonrats and lying lamestream media did to Allen West and Mia Love. Allen West fought hard for his seat. We patriotic Americans need to keep fighting no matter what and keep telling the truth. The truth will win in the end. Never give up!!
I think you hit on something here Mr. CapBlack however instead of now calling yourself a “Bold” american how about calling yourself an “American”. It was this type of thinking that has divided this country to where it is now. Just being an “American” automatically means that ” We Americans ” are from all walks of life and every corner of this earth. I have never felt the need nor desire for me to distinguish myself by referring to myself by my ethnic back ground. I am an American and that is plenty good enough for me. However I am a little embarrassed by what the media tells me what the world thinks of us right now but screw them. Take note of the latest claim of “fair and balanced” description by the undocumented alien now touring the US to stir up support for his newest czar composed overdue budget proposals. I think it is time, we stopped all the dividing and qualifying anything by race in this Country. There are very few totally black, white, native american, Mexican, Asian American etc. We have interbred, and most of us accept each other beyond a color or race. Why don’t we all become Americans and stop fighting among ourselves. If the Government needs their vital statistics, just tell them we are American, because that is what we all are!
I know some black young republicans here in San Francisco circulating petitions. These guys are zealots for conservatism. No I really don’t think they are gay. Though half of San Francisco may be. Here is my recommendation for activist republican conservatives. What is insane is that Obama is not an African American, he is an Arab Muslim and it appears he is of the radical kind of Arab Muslim as well. African American’s need to do a little research and they will find that Arab Muslim’s traded in African slaves.
One has to seriously wonder how an African American could vote for a Muslim Arab knowing what their ancestors did for a living. Then again, I guess the old saying ignorance is bliss, is a perfect comment for why African American’s would support a Muslim Arab.

I wonder how many black people actually know that it was their own people who rounded them up for the Muslim Arabs were the human traffickers and still to this day use slaves. How dumb do you have to be to not know that ? So many blacks are actually of the Muslim faith, they should know about this. Do they actually think that they will be immune to the horrors the rest of us will face in the future? I’m guessing that most likely they will be right there next to the rest of us, as well as the Hispanics. Just because they helped him achieve the big heist will not save them. There will be no more sympathy for them than if they were white. Remember Papa Doc, Idi Amin, thousands of others. They have no pity on their own, especially if they are poor.
Sad how Cosby, West and Smiley understand an inkling of the problem and then would go to the polls and vote to continue and reinforce the problem. Some black preachers spoke up against Obama’s vile opposition to things godly and Biblical, then mostly went with their congregations and voted to re-elect the problem. Martin Luther King Jr. advocated for a color blind society. We gave him a holiday and yet, 50 years after his death so few in the black community honor him by living by his standards.
Blacks voted for him cause he’s BLACK…. They thought he would give them things the WHITE man wouldnt. That’s no. 1. No 2…. They voted for him to irritate the WHITE man. Cause they knew it would hack them. Their jealousy is higher than any mountain. When you are jealous of someone, you can’t see straight… that jealousy blinds you to the good any white man would do for you. Also.. they dont want to feel they were ‘slighting’ Obama either by voting for a white man. Blacks vote for the man who will give them the most. …. and that’s another BLACK man… and you can go to the bank on that too..
