Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Obama Birth Certificate Is A Forgery

PHOENIX, Arizona- Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, referred to by many as “America’s toughest sheriff,” held a landmark press conference today along with an investigative “Cold Case Posse” consisting of former law enforcement officers and lawyers with law enforcement experience. He alleged, among other things, that President Barack Hussein Obama’s birth certificate was a computer-generated forgery.

Arpaio and his colleagues conducted this investigation over the past six months after being presented with a petition, signed by some 250 people from a local Tea Party organization based in Surprise, Arizona who were questioning Obama’s eligibility to occupy the Presidency. The team interviewed dozens of witnesses from around the world, examined hundreds of documents, and claim that they have taken a number of sworn statements from these witnesses. Arpaio said that not a penny of taxpayer money was spent in funding the investigation.

Mike Zullo, Arpaio’s lead investigator, was rather critical of the state of Hawaii’s Department of Health. “Officers of the Hawaii Department of Health and various elected Hawaiian public officials may have intentionally obscured 1961 birth records and procedures to avoid having to release to public inspection and to the examination of court-authorized forensic examiners any original Obama 1961 birth records the Hawaii Department of Health may or may not have,” said Mr. Zullo.

The team said that they have identified at least one person of interest in the alleged forgery of Obama’s birth certificate, although they declined to go into any more detail. They also asked Sheriff Arpaio to upgrade their investigation into a criminal probe that would utilize the resources of of his Maricopa County sheriff office.

A number of experts in areas like forensics and photography were interviewed by the posse. Their conclusion, for the most part, was that not only was Barack Obama’s birth certificate a fraud, but so was his Selective Service paperwork.

The sheriff today called for Congress to step up and to further investigate these concerns. “A continuing investigation is needed to identify the identity of the person or persons involved in creating the alleged birth certificate forgery and to determine who, if anyone, in the White House or the state of Hawaii may have authorized the forgery,” Arpaio said.

Arpaio and his colleagues insisted throughout the conference that this investigation was not done for partisan reasons. No one actually accused the President himself of committing a crime. Additionally, the team agreed that any subsequent investigation should take a “bottom to top” approach rather than aiming first at the President.

Also speaking at the conference today was WND.com contributor and author Jerome Corsi. Mr. Corsi discussed some of the findings from his most recent book “Where’s The (Obama) Birth Certifica?” published last year. He also briefly paid tribute to the sudden passing last night of conservative hero Andrew Breitbart.

Naturally, the reporters who showed up at the press conference acted rather noisily, asking Arpaio and his posse about their political views and complaining that their efforts amounted to nothing more than a witch-hunt of Obama. While accusing them of having a politically-motivated agenda, it was really the media that had its own agenda. As they usually do, the liberal press missed the point.

The entire press conference took about an hour and a half.

Characteristically, the Obama campaign reacted by tweeting what they said was a link to a “live stream” of the conference, but actually linked to a video from the X-files.
