Sex Is Major Reason Military Commanders Are Fired

General David Petraeus SC Sex is major reason military commanders are fired

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair, fired from his command in Afghanistan last May and now facing a court-martial on charges of sodomy, adultery and pornography and more, is just one in a long line of commanders whose careers were ended because of possible sexual misconduct.

Sex has proved to be the downfall of presidents, members of Congress and other notables. It’s also among the chief reasons that senior military officers are fired.

At least 30 percent of military commanders fired over the past eight years lost their jobs because of sexually related offenses, including harassment, adultery, and improper relationships, according to statistics compiled by The Associated Press.

The figures bear out growing concerns by Defense Department and military leaders over declining ethical values among U.S. forces, and they highlight the pervasiveness of a problem that came into sharp relief because of the resignation of one of the Army’s most esteemed generals, David Petraeus, and the investigation of a second general, John Allen, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan.

The statistics from all four military services show that adulterous affairs are more than a four-star foible. From sexual assault and harassment to pornography, drugs and drinking, ethical lapses are an escalating problem for the military’s leaders.

With all those offenses taken together, more than 4 in every 10 commanders at the rank of lieutenant colonel or above who were fired fell as a result of behavioral stumbles since 2005.

  1. People want to know why the Tea Party is so powerful and that’s because we believe in basic principles of the constitution – moral eithics are practiced as God teaches – your word is your bond – it’s your worth by which one is judged. Marriage has taken a beating, but we still believe in them – our vows. This evil world is hard to live in…but faith will give a sword. We want America back – the times when a handshake meant something – when government didn’t dictate down to what we eat – when our children were not brainwashed as they are now, and were taught mechanics and morals was taught at home. It make not be a reachable goal but we won’t stop trying,,,,and as we have seen, there is a straw that breaks the camels back and it has been reached I think. We won’t stop.

    • Camel’s back or whatever, all of history shows that people will respect laws and rules when the punishment for violation is expained thus: “Do _____ and we’ll kill you”. Everything else is BS.

    • Oh get off the soap box! This stuff isn’t anything new, they have always behaved this way. The only difference is that they are getting caught easier now because of all the electronic footprints they leave and there is more outrage when they get caught because it gets broadcast to the world. Religion doesn’t stop any of this behavior, it just gives you people something to hide behind.

  2. Rise up, good people, and demand that a moral code be respected. We have thieves and communists in the government, violence on tv and in video games, porn, massacres, and half the population thinking they are owed a living. We have to get back to President Kennedy’s “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” attitude. We have to go back to God as a country and expect that our leaders answer to Him instead of their own desires.

  3. Those are things you learn from your parents, from growing up with two parents ! They “being together” setting an example, not only telling you right from wrong BUT teaching you right from wrong….by them showing you how they live it. WHERE in american do you see that any more !??!?! Everything has been made way too easy, marriage, divorce, murder, steal, frame, fraud, treason, tyranny,……well we have a good example right in our white house ! Look no further ! By that happening…you can see what kind of people we have in the senate and house to let this happen !?!?!? All CROOKS, NO MORALS IN ANY OF THEM !!! Something should have been done a LONG time ago. If the senate and house don’t do something to get us back on track….it just might be “1776″ all over again !!! “For every act there is a reaction ” !

  4. Lets not forget about president Bill Clinton, and Monica Lewinsky, or how about Obama, and Larry Sinclair, if you do not know who Larry Sinclair is, Google him. What about Reverend Wright, and the “Down Low Club” that Obama, and his buddy Rohm Emanuel, both belonged too?

Sex has been the downfall of millions throughout the time of history, remember Cleopatra and Julius Caesar? What else is new, the only thing that has changed, is the names of the offenders. What’s most interesting, is that the higher up the ladder that a sex offender is, like Bill Clinton, or BO, the less likely that they will be held accountable, for your sexual perversion actions.

Bill Clinton got away with what he did, as did Obama, but the folks that are lower down on the ladder, like General Petraeus, or Brig. General Jeffrey Sinclair, they will all be held accountable, and there distinguished service careers over thirty plus years, will be destroyed in an instance, while the people above them, like Clinton, and BO, will be allowed to skate away free. It certainly seems unfair does it not?

  5. Yes, all of the Female commanders removed for Sex Intimidation were removed, NOT.
