Interesting. He's a Senator and doesn't know what the 3 branches of Gov't are?!! I'd say it's time for him to go!
If anyone wonders why our nation is failing, and just how stupid the Democrat leaders are: look no further than Schumer. He is typical of the garbage from the East Coast, and if you must, then we have Pelosi, Reid, and many others who are just as bad, maybe worse.
Don't forget Bonny Fwank, he and Dod are the reason your house is worth 1/2 of what it was 5 years ago, If your lucky.

And this bozo is a senator? The three branches of government consist of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial. And I only have a high-school education. I am worried for my country.

Liberals like schumer actually believe that their is actually only one branch of government, That is the president(ial) rule by executive & secretarial order, so realizing that conservitives just took the house & he was in the senate, he thought he should at least include them even though he doesn't believe they have any thing to do with govenment, unless how ever they are dems, that were created as an emergency back up system for executive orders. He probably doesn't realize that a Judicial branch exists, to him it's just a powerless bunch of "no standing – BO back ups"!

they say these things because they hate the constitution and that it stands for government of the people by the people so they never read it and they dont care whats in it. schumer was caught on tape trying to find ways around the constitution. i heard the tape on becks show. someone had gone to meeting of dummycrats and recorded him doing this. this guy is no different than obama. the democratic party has been hyjacked by socialists and some communists.
I have meet this guy, he has more hot air than a hot air balloon. I do also think he is truly in love with himself and loves to here himself talk. He also uses short careful wording that never really makes any since at all. That way he can use the meaning he wants when something happens.

Actually this separation of powers principle was new to the world in 1776 when many other newly independent states followed Virginia in this regard. In 1789, division of powers between national and state governments was added. You won't learn a thing from studying documents from the 1789 national convention, and Edmund Pendleton's Autobiography contains the only hint of how Montesquieu's Spirit of Laws found its way into American political institutions at the state level by way of Patrick Henry's oratory at the Virginia Constitutional Convention of May 1776.
There were many references to a mixed constitution (executive one-man rule of a monarchy, judicial small group rule of an aristocracy, and legislative majority rule of a democracy) in the classics, especially in Polybius and Aristotle, but there is nothing explicit in Montesquieu's misunderstanding of the English Constitution (like Polybius' misunderstanding of the Roman Constitution) to suggest that our own three way separation of powers derives in any way from ancient political theory by way of Montesquieu, although Hamilton's "The Farmer Refuted" indicates that Montesquieu was one of the five most influential philosophers studied by the founding fathers in general.
Just remember, Chuck, there are now THREE not two, branches, of government: (1) Leg-kiss-sort-of, (2) Expletive, and (3) Judean, but I guess the incumbents of these institutions pretty much do as they please these days without bothering to look at their constitutional job descriptions.
