Catholicism 2 300x240 See This Atheist Bloggers Stunning Announcement

Atheist blogger Leah Libresco shocked the secular community this week when she announced on her Patheos blog that she has converted to Christianity. Her article, entitled, “This is my last post for the Patheos Atheist Portal,” explained her conversion to Catholicism, which has sent shock-waves through the atheist blogosphere.

In her post, Libresco details her personal struggles with understanding the root of moral law. Obviously, non-believers don’t see morality as coming from a central source. Instead, they see humanity as living on its own, disconnected from any fertile source of knowledge and goodness. For Libresco, this ideal has come full-circle, as she inevitably arrived at an understanding that aligns with a Christ-centered world-view.

Debate after debate and discussion after discussion, the non-believing blogger details how she found herself constantly exploring this paradigm — that is, until she finally accepted the notion that truth and moral goodness come from God. She explains:

I believed that the Moral Law wasn’t just a Platonic truth, abstract and distant. It turns out I actually believed it was some kind of Person, as well as Truth. And there was one religion that seemed like the most promising way to reach back to that living Truth. I asked my friend what he suggest we do now, and we prayed the night office of the Liturgy of the Hours together (I’ve kept up with that since). Then I suggested hugs and playing Mumford and Sons really, really loudly.

  1. I believe this former atheist was honestly looking for the truth and she eventualy found it. Christ said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” “Anybody who honestly looks for Me will find Me.” I, also, believe that the Blessed Virgin, the Mother of God, had her hand in this conversion. She has GREAT power with her son, Jesus. Jesus will do things for her that he may not usually do for others. Rightfully so, because she’s His Mother and she willingly suffered greatly with her Son when He was crucified. The Roman Catholic Church teaches “Abandoning the Mother is but one step from abandoning the Son.” St. Bonaventure said, “Whoever neglected Our Lady would perish in his sins and would be damned.” This does not mean that one adores His Mother; just greatly honors her. Wouldn’t anybody want their mother to be honored by others, especially if she was a good, caring mother? Jesus wants us to honor His mother. Remember, the Angels and Saints in Heaven rejoice GREATLY over one repentant sinner than they do over many who have no need of repentance. Christ walked amongst sinners. He was called a ‘madman,’ a ‘predator to His own people,’ ‘evil,’ etc. See website: http://www.haasstrep68.com

  2. You are absolutely correct with the first two sentences. Then, it is straight downhill. Mary did not have a hand in anything. She is deceased, and the dearly departed do not and cannot, answer prayer. So, you are so simple-minded to believe that a human being can hear simultaneous prayers from all over the world? If you do, then you are attributing to Mary aspects of divinity. Mary is the blessed mother of Jesus, and that’s it. She was blessed among women in her role as Our Lord’s mother. She is not some globe-trotting spectre who allegedly appears telling people to pray to her, because that is demonic, and the simple Miriam of Nazareth would not be doing such. You with your Mariolatry—deifying the BVM—is one of the MANY heresies of Rome. I hope our atheist friend truly came to Jesus in repenance and faith, and did not just swallow a church.
