Scrooge Was A Liberal

It’s the Christmas season, so godless liberals are citing the Bible to demand the redistribution of income by government force. Didn’t Jesus say, “Blessed are the Health and Human Services bureaucrats, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”?

Liberals are always indignantly accusing conservatives of claiming God is on our side. What we actually say is: We’re on God’s side, particularly when liberals are demanding God’s banishment from the public schools, abortion on demand, and taxpayer money being spent on Jesus submerged in a jar of urine and pictures of the Virgin Mary covered with pornographic photos.

But for liberals like Al Franken, it’s beyond dispute that Jesus would support extending federal unemployment insurance.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the Bible, but it does nicely illustrate Shakespeare’s point that the “devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.”

What the Bible says about giving to the poor is: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians (9:7)

Being forced to pay taxes under penalty of prison is not voluntary and rarely done cheerfully. Nor do our taxes go to “the poor.” They mostly go to government employees who make more money than you do.

  2. Ann Coulter is your choice to offer a Christmas message? Priceless.

    • Gary in Colo says:

      Merry "Christ"- mas, James!
At least you didn't correct her to say "Holiday" message.

      • No, as a Christian I recognize the reason for the season. That's part of why members of my family typically exchange cheap, often handmade gifts, giving money we'd spend on each other to charity instead–except in the case of youngsters, especially grandchildren–you have to draw a line somewhere. :-) Merry Christmas to you, as well.

That actually sounds better than the way I learned Christmas. (I am probably a few years
younger than you and grew up learning a Christmas very commercialized and seems
that even since then it has gotten even more so).
And back to Ann's column, I don't think WJ intended it to be specifically a Christmas
message as the same article came out a few days ago through other sources, most of
those having their own individual messages. I think WJ is more filler than anything else,
but at least not just who won "Dancing with the Stars" that is so thoroughly covered by
          main street media.

  3. Ann hits the nail on the head again! I agree 100%!

QUERY: Histoy denotes that in 1522A.D. that Pope Leo the 10th of the Roman Catholic Church asked philosopher Petrus Galatinus to change the name of the Hebrew Messiah's name from Yahshua, meaning "Yahweh is Salvation" into a name that honored the Greek's highest deity, "Zeus," which just was the way that Rome had always done things to honor those who they had beaten in war. Petrus gave Pope Leo the 10th the name "Jesus" and the rest is history! I also know that the Bible still says that Hebrew is the "only" inspired language, not Greek, Latin, or even English. My query is that does that mean that at one time the Pope actually represented all people who believed in the Messiah having come to Jerusalem(although I think that Rome may have believed that it actually in Rome(?))and now the Pope doesn't represent all of Christianity??? It is written in the Bible to prove all things you know? Just sayin—
