Salvation Army Under Attack!

Salvation Army SC Salvation Army Under Attack!

Salvation Army bell ringers are welcome reminders of our duty to help others. Well, maybe not welcome by everybody.

Real life grinches, ranging from Walmart to the Associated Students of the University of California at liberal epicenter Berkley, want them muted or, in UC-Berkley’s case, banished!

A Potsdam, New York bell ringer outside a local Wal Mart was told he can’t play holiday tunes on his trumpet to entertain customers. Wal Mart’s corporate spokesperson said this complies with an agreement with the Salvation Army to provide a “distraction free” environment for shoppers, staff, and volunteers.

Singing is now banned too on their properties.

To its credit, WalMart raised more than $46 million dollars for the charity last year. Too bad that’s colored by silly prohibitions like these.

I’m all for capitalism, but major corporations seem to be getting more crass with each passing second. I’d assume they’d realize that a majority Christian clientele would react favorably to live holiday music.

Moving right along…

Nestled in the bleeding heart of America’s Left Coast is the University of California-Berkley, infamous for inflecting generations of radicals upon the nation.

Not surprisingly, members of their Associated Students of the University of California passed a bill banning bell ringers from their campus.

What could a sane Salvation Army bell ringer do to merit such a severe penalty?

Alleged homophobia by the charity nationwide is the offense. Complaints have been compiled by LGBT activists accusing soup kitchens and shelters of discrimination.

There you have it, my fellow Americans!

Just when you thought liberals couldn’t sink any lower, now they’re demonizing the Salvation Army.

Make extra sure you give them a donation.

In this strange new land we find ourselves in, it might be illegal to even be a Salvation Army bell ringer next year.

I never thought the Salvation Army would come under attack!

Cap Black, The Hood Conservative, asks,
“Does America really believe musical bell ringers are distractions or that the Salvation Army hates Gay people???”

  1. I donate to The Salvation Army and not to Red Cross a promise I made to my late uncle a World War one Vet

He told me The Arm was always there for American Soldier’s and not Red Cross.

I have kept my promise to him for over 60 year’s

  2. You want permission to solicit on private property, follow the rules!

Without private property rights, there is NO freedom, just slavery.

    • I have never known the Salvation Army to place bell ringers anywhere without first asking permission. It is they who have aid many thousands through the years. When the Red Cross is involved, they always expect to be repayed by those they claim to help.
carlwk3c, from the jest of your remark, I would suspect that you are a UC Berkley educated(?) left-wing liberal who voted with the “47%”, plus a few other braindead, for those who want to destroy freedoms and demand obidient slavery from all. When TSHTF, do not look to those of us who believe in the values that built this Nation for help. You will be dependent on those “political elite” for whatever scraps they throw to you, the low life as they consider you.

  3. Veteranrebel,

Not at all. I support the SA. I’ve run national ham radio nets for them during disasters like Katrina to support tier efforts.

And, hell no, I’m not a Berkley leftie … I’m somewhere to the right of The JBS, support gun and self-defense rights (I carry legally on a quasi-religious basis), and haven’t found a candidate strong enough on limited government and freedom to satisfy me.

I wasn’t jesting (not sure why you thought I was). I would hope that any business would welcome SA and other charities’ fund fishing efforts, but, as I said, private property rights rule, so follow the rules if you want to be there.

  4. What a shame. It’s so nice. In New York City, Muslims can tie up an entire street while they get down and show their butts to pray to allah, but God forbid anyone should sing a Christmas song, or play a Christmas song.

    • lets not forget about the gay community shutting down streets and creating a distraction with their GAY PRIDE parades and walking and riding bicycles and motorcycles in the nude in the public in front of children. For heterosexuals, they would be charged with public nudity and indecent exposure, but for homo’s they are exempt from laws.

    • There is nothing to keep private citizens from singing a little Christmas song as they shop or stroll down the street! I’l bet if one or two people started singing, a lot more people would join in! Do you think any establishment is foolish enough to go and corral those singing, and shove them out the door before they drop their cash?

  5. Well, l am not going to give them one penny, l heard that they lost their money, now how did they lose the money here at the holidays? Well, just like the government, someone got hot fingers and a love for money. So we here in our little neck of the woods are give to our churches to take care of the poor. We all have what we call a poor fund.
