    Another great place for information on the candidates is The Conservative Scorecard, which is an easy-to-read description on the strength of the candidates on key conservative positions. The ratings are based on their prior statements and positions over their political careers. It can be found here:

  3. Perhaps in a rare moment of honesty Romney wants to illustrate a logical progression of events which would arrive at the same conclusion, I mean remember McCain hugging on Bush in the ’08 election? The term “kiss of death” comes to mind. Which is what can be expected for the GOP in the event of a Romney nomination. The “new blood” being transfused by Dr. Paul into the GOP will be leaked away out of its slit wrists, thanks to the sharp guys at the top of the pyramid.

  4. I have to acknowledge, I personally have no factual knowledge of Romney’s tenure with Bain an equity capital business. Concerning Romney and Bain; my understanding derives from a video, I believe was produced by Gingrich.

    I will categorically state, I believe ‘profit’ is the motivating factor in capitalism. I agree all go into business to make a profit. Profit is not the dirty word it currently is characterized as.

    Now, to step into the murky waters of factuality, as my observations are based upon statements contained in the Romney/Bain video. A venture capital enterprises’ purpose is investing clients funds, in businesses, with the potential of improving business: by securing additional capital to overcome a financial hurdle; or expansion of a growing potentially lucrative business.

    The video alludes to Romney/Bain practice of: purchasing or investing in a business; increasing its bottom line through nefarious machinations such as:

    1. reduction in workforce;

    2. reduction of product quality;

    3. disposal of profitable business related activities;

    4. disposal of valuable business assets;

    5. increasing debt beyond potential to repay;

    6. collusion with questionable respected financial institution thereby portraying a false profitable financial picture;

    7. fictitious practices creating attractive investment

    profiles thereby attracting unsuspecting private investors;

    thereby enabling Romney/Bain to dump/sell their total ownership investment thereby realizing a profit. Is this criminal or a violation of any statute?

    The capitalist tenet; “laissez faire,” or buyer beware, is valid when all things are equal. A person making a purchase has the duty, to do their own research, thereby identifying flaws, if any exist. When several, of the above numbered items, exist and are involved in a business endeavor, then the purchaser, regardless of their research competency, is duped and basically swindled.

    In most criminal endeavors the paramount item, of proof, is “INTENT.” Were the alleged criminal actions, mistakes, reliance upon bad advice or incompetence? “Intent” is strictly a ‘state of mind,’ which is difficult to prove, but can successfully be proven by the actions taken by those alleged, to have performed, the criminal act(s).

    Another element pertinent to Romney/Bain activities, were state lines crossed? Do we have violations of the RICO statutes? Based upon the video, many potential criminal acts were committed.

    If the video, which I believe the Gingrich campaign financed or produced, contains truthful characterization, of actions by Romney/Bain, then in my humble opinion; culpable individuals and corporations should be investigated and prosecuted.

    At the least no one; save the ‘la cosa nostra’ should vote for Romney.
