I would go further and say that blaming guns for murder is also like blaming pencils for cheating on standardized tests. But Rush Limbaugh makes a good point here.

It takes the courage and valor of Rush Limbaugh to speak the truth without flinching. Gun control is not about keeping guns away from criminals. It’s about keeping the law-abiding citizens from defending themselves from criminals including criminals in their government. Do we learn from history? Or, are we like ignorant sheep who are being led to the slaughter? Let’s look at facts from history — Gun history: 1) Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. 2) China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were exterminated. 3) Guatamala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians were exterminated. 4) Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians were exterminated. 5) Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were exterminated. Defenseless people who were exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control totals 56 million. When law-abiding people have guns they are citizens; without guns they are slaves.
