When Sarah Palin, during the post Iowa media spin feast, warned GOP leaders to not “marginalize” the Ron Paul supporters, she was looking ahead to the greatest challenge faced by whoever captures the nomination.
The Republican leaders in DC loathe Ron Paul, and they loathe the thousands of mostly young activists he is bringing into the GOP. Like similar waves of activists in the past the insiders’ goal is to see their tide of enthusiasm break and dissipate like foam on a beach.
The insiders that actually run the GOP look nothing like the membership of the GOP. Walk the halls of the Republican National Committee in DC and you will find preppy ladder climbers that shift political philosophy to accommodate whichever boss will bid to pay the most.
These are the shock troops of the K Street lobby crowd more interested in Thursday night’s cocktail circuit than a jobless Iowa worker or a small businessman struggling in Nashua, New Hampshire. And the thought of Washington’s budget being cut by one trillion dollars as Ron Paul has envisioned chills them to the core.
If government contractors aren’t scoring fat contracts, then who will they lobby for, they fret. And if whole agencies are shuttered, how will they get a posting as a schedule C government employee with those awesome health, vacation and pension benefits.
For the crowd in DC, the battle for the presidency is more a battle for booty and perks than it is about changing the course of the nation’s future. As conservative pundit, Stan Evans famously said, “we came to DC seeing a cesspool and now we have come to understand it is really a hot-tub.” And DC based Republicans’ enjoy the steak dinners, Super Bowl tickets, and foreign trips as much as any Democrats.
They feel threatened by Ron Paul, just as in the past they have felt threatened by Pat Roberson and his unruly evangelicals, Pat Buchannan and his brigades, or even Mike Huckabee and his Christian cohort. As a result of these earlier insurgencies, quietly the GOP has rewritten the delegate selection rules to empower the ruling elite.
Prime example is our own home state of Washington. This was the only state carried by Pat Robertson in 1988. This deeply embarrassed the moderate GOP Senators and Congressmen from Washington. Traditionally Washington had a caucus which elected delegates to a state convention and that convention controlled the national convention delegates and even elected the GOP state chairman. No more, after the Robertson troops denied coveted delegate spots for the DC based crowd and ruined their chances to party in New Orleans that summer, the rules were changed.
Today, Washington State is buttoned up for whoever is the “mainstream” candidate. And even the State Party Chairman is now elected by the much more controllable “state central committee”. This body is about has democratic as the “central committee of the Communist Party” in China. By limiting the influence of the hoi polloi the elites make sure it is nearly impossible for delegates committed to candidates like Ron Paul to get elected.
We give all of this history and background for the purpose of making one simple point. If the dictators that rule the GOP from DC don’t watch out they will find that Ron Paul is more than an irritant. The will find that he is the candidate that if he runs third party could potentially keep them from beating Obama.
If they exercise the power they hold to freeze these people out, or as Sarah Palin says “marginalize,” it will be a mistake the entire country could pay the price for with the re-election of Obama. Instead of trying to limit the participation of the great unwashed, in 2012, Republicans should embrace anyone that will join in the great crusade to unseat Obama.
If they give the Paul activists the cold shoulder, they do so at greater risk than we think they understand.

Do you really think the GOP’s owners give a small furry rodent’s hindquarters which of their team wins?
Are you forgetting the election of ’08? McCain was a Russian roulette revolver with 6 rounds chambered aimed at the head of the GOP that only failed to go off due to a misfire.
Ron Paul wanting to use the access of the GOP was that misfire. So many pundits seem to be oblivious to the zeitgeist manifesting in the USA. Not everybody is awake to the forces running our country into the ground, but they all know that there really is something wrong. They’re not likely to blithely endorse business as usual, and Romney is business as usual.
I know it’s the conventional wisdom to ask the CFR whom they endorse and then find a few words to put next to that to make it seem reasonable and VOILA, but this is the dawning of the age of aquarius. 2012 is the beginning of the new golden age, and the awakening is exponential. People Are hurting and they are at the end of their ropes as far as the way things have been going is concerned, and with every subsequent outrage their resolve to motivate for a 180 degree change is solidifying.
Toto has pulled back the curtain on the bilateral one-party moguls, and you can’t un-pull back the curtain.
As NAOMI WOLF has observed, if there is enough of a push back from the people the fascists will retreat, retrench, and go underground. The candidacy of Ron Paul represents that push back. He’s injected issues into the national dialogue that have been swept under the carpet for way too long. We could really use a Ron Paul presidency to get a few of our constitutional protections reinstated, even if it were truncated for whatever reason. Anyway, I’ve said my piece, any takers?
To Get Ron Paul’s Insanity, You Have To Understand Libertarianism
“Libertarianism is to authentic conservatism what Barack Obama is to 19th century liberalism” http://bit.ly/vBBvkk
Good post. Unfortunately, every druggie out there supports this idiot. I don’t know who is worse RP or Obama.
So, you like to recite the misleading mantra from Faux Noise? He does not advocate the legalization of drugs… he says that the Federal Government does not have jurisdiction and it ought to be a state issue as murder and rape is… if a state chooses to legalize a drug- such as California, then it ought to be their prerogative..True this is a subtle distinction but if you have an I.Q. bigger than your show size, you should be able to wrap you mind around that. We do, after all have three basic levels of government: Federal (restricted by the numerated powers) State (based on the wording of the tenth amendment) and local based usually as Ohio is, on the state constitution…. Ron Paul is running for Federal office and so what he is saying is that we need to let the states decide these things: not a mindless unelected bureaucracy like the FDA, EPA, and other unconstitutional agencies. If you are truly interested in what he says, I suggest reading one of the 8 books he wrote, such as Liberty Defined. Or you could just go back to your couch and watch the Fox News soundbites, Your Call.
Agreed 100%. I couldn’t have said it better.
Millicent– the idiot stares at you from your mirror. Take your meds and get some good sleep. You will feel better when you awake.
Well, Millicent, then all you people with your little tinfoil hats on just continue sitting around guzzling your beer or drinking your evening wine and let Obama win again and we’ll see who’s worse…..won’t we ??
Uh I think you have to be older than 5 to blog here….please grow up!
@ Millicent: “…every druggie out there supports this idiot. I don’t know who is worse RP or Obama.” I don’t know or care if that assessment is true, nor does it matter. Think about what you’re saying- you’re suggesting that the voter defines the candidate. I’m sure every one of these candidates would welcome every legal vote cast by a druggie. Here, let me help you attempt to discredit the good Doctor… The old argument that you improperly regurgitated is that RP wants to legalize drugs- which every honest person who investigates admits is invalid. Allow me to assist as well with your second impetuous sentence comparing degrees of Good between Obama vs Ron Paul… Let’s see: One of these individuals’ actions routinely contradict his words. The other individual has consistently promoted the same message for over 30 years and his actions have uncannily paralleled that message. No brainer comparison… and part of the reason that Obama and his handlers want ANYONE but Ron Paul to run against him.
RU4liberty had written: “The old argument that you [Millicent] improperly regurgitated is that RP wants to legalize drugs- which every honest person who investigates admits is invalid.”
Properly speaking, Dr. Paul – like most medical doctors in these United States – recognizes that drug addiction is a MEDICAL condition (emphasis Dr. Paul’s) the treatment of which is horribly impaired by our current “War on Drugs” campaign to treat the addicts’ use of psychoactive substances as criminal.
Might as well criminalize the smoking of tobacco or the consumption of alcoholic beverages. These are both activities we clearly identify as pathogenic, right?
But, again as Dr. Paul has observed, we’d TRIED prohibition – of alcohol – and that didn’t work, either.
Now, let’s step beyond the honest acknowledgement of medical pathology and get into the realm of someone who has not once but repeatedly taken the oath of office to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
That’s Dr. Paul and every one of us who’ve ever served in the U.S. armed forces. MILLIONS of us.
Is there in the U.S. Constitution any authority whatsoever for the Congress, the judiciary, or the executive branch to legislate or otherwise act upon the individual citizen’s consumption of psychoactive drugs?
If the answer to that question is “no” (and it IS “no”), then what Dr. Paul is saying is that the federal government has no lawful power to conduct any sort of “War on Drugs,” and has never had such power. The entirety of the federal “War on Drugs” is intrinsically and inescapably criminal in and of itself, and must be ended.
Immediately.
This is not to benefit Millicent’s “druggie” types but to preserve the rule of law as defined by the U.S. Constitution.
Those, like Millicent, who want the U.S. Constitution violated as a matter of formal policy – for whatever reason – are best defined by a technical term.
That term is “traitor,” and – ain’t it great? – the one place in the Constitution where the death penalty is explicitly prescribed is for the crime of treason.
Anybody else out here pushing for the enforcement of law ‘n order?

So you would disagree with the Gipper when he said that Libertarianism is the heart of conservatism? Unless you are just trying to be cute, conservatism is simply the retaining of existing power structures. (F.A. Hayek) but depending upon how far back you would take that…. i.e.e John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, etc, then that philosophy would be “classic liberalism” or the belief in the primacy of the individual and natural law. My guess is that you are just into sound-bite conservatism. Libertarianism is the noun form of the adjective libertarian and means essentially “of or pertaining to liberty” and of course we would want to distance ourselves as far from that as we can! Still, I like Ron Paul and his espousal of “individual liberty and personal responsibility…. even if you don’t
I wouldn’t vote for this Progressive/Leftist RINO to clean my toilet. He is a total fraud and has a bunch of young people who were educated in leftist schools. Ron Paul aka Dr. Dementia is a national disgrace and I can’t wait for this idiot and his band of locusts to disappear.
Millicent (and Winghunter), it is exactly people like you two who keep electing the criminals who populate our government. You can not tolerate honesty, and you can not tolerate any new ideas to get America out of the mess we are in. You are perfectly OK with “politics as usual” regardless of who is the polictician. You claim to be conservative, or whatever, but your actions speak louder than words. Ron Paul’s moral compass scares the crap out of you because you have no moral compass. To call Ron Paul a “leftist”, a “fraud”, and an “idiot” proves that neither of you know what the hell you are talking about. And that’s sad, because it’s people like you who have allowed today’s Federal Goverment to be what they are.
Millicent — Dementia is an advanced state of mental deterioration which can be slowed by good nutrition, adequate sleep, and refraining from stressful and frustrating endeavors such as casting aspersions on people and concepts that you are far to complex for you to understand. May I once again suggest you take your meds and consult your physician.
LMAO!!!
I am in agreement. But as for Millicent…I suggest taking your psycho buddies out with you somewhere and have a Koolaid party.
you said it right my friend and all these intellectually dishonest responders to your eloquent words will suffer beyond the pale when if for some reason Ron Paul is not elected and Romney gets the nod or Santorum or Perry or whoever…Bankster candidates for all these guys. Understanding the paradigm of reality in politics takes honesty and willingness to see what you see as Ronald Reagan said. People who say these things about Ron Paul and mis-characterize him as they do cannot point to one vote in congress, one thing he has said or done ever to make these statements. It is as if we were transported back to elementary school and we are on the playground and all the kids are picking on the smartest guy in the class because he is the smartest and they are jealous. I feel sorry for them but I think Charlotte Iserbyt said it best (the author of “the dumbing down of America”) She said don’t waste your time on the older crowd because they are mostly beyond repair…the deception has been too engrained….concentrate on the young because they see how screwed up of a nation our generation has left them. I am in my late 40′s and I am ashamed to say I was awake in my late teens and twenties to the NWO and the Global elites plans but got busy with family and life..voted for the candidates the media fed me and kept my mouth shut like a good little conservative. Now I can not believe I wasted my vote on Bush/Dole/Bush/MCain. I believed that some how they were really conservatives. But you cannot change truth and history. They all sold us out for the Bankster elites and the military industrial complex. We are a nation gone under like the titanic after it already hit the iceberg. 1913 was the iceberg…it has just taken the Global planners 100 years to dismantle the minds of the Greatest nation ever existing in History. Our founding fathers said it well. No outside army will every destroy us, we will have to be destroyed from within. From the response to your eloquent thoughts it is obvious they have won. My vote will go to Ron Paul and only him. Obama has only put George Bush’s /Clintons/Bush’s agenda on Steroids. Romney/Santorum/Perry/Newt/ All Obama with different..well not so different rhetoric. If Paul doesn’t get in then it will be another puppet like what we have had for over 2 decades. I already moved out of the country so I will be praying for you all. Not that it is any better in Europe. The NWO is taking everything down as fast as they can.
Absolutely spot on ! I can not stand those who call the candidates “nut jobs” or “fruitcakes’ etc. Yes Ron Paul has a few quirks that don’t quite fit, with what the mainstream brainwashed average citizen thinks, I wish that they would do some real research, before popping off about one candidate or the other. Bottom line is they FEAR Ron Paul, mostly because He would drain the Septic tank that is current D.C. Politics, and that may cost them a few perks if not their very job. I am not beating the drum for Ron Paul. but if I had My choice I would take parts of Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann. Rick Perry , Santorum and one that’s not running Allan West and roll them all into one, as far as I’m concerned those at the so called “Front” of the pack, like Rummy and Get-rich Are just more of the same B.S. that got U.S. into this mess, The Libs on BOTH sides of the isle have been trying to destroy the United States from the time the third president was inaugurated, We need a constitutional RE-SET
Those who use pejoratives in describing their opponents can expect the same treatment in response. I do feel that Paul derives much of his criticism from the current philosophy of attempting to absorb the depth of another’s argument through a 30 second sound byte. Just as it takes slow, deliberate reading and concentration to extract the meaning and intent from the Constitution, it takes some time and attention to appreciate what Paul says, and why he thinks so.
I don’t believe all his detractors fear him. I, for one, don’t see how he hopes to accomplish his ‘one sentence objectives’ with no political support in either house (I forgot…he has one Senator). The Bully Pulpit doesn’t reach too far, as he has a bit of a communication… ‘consideration.’ Maybe it’s not the message, but rather the messenger?
They need to get behind Ron Paul and fast! Take a look at the online polls and you see the difference that the mainstream media with their bias are putting out on television. I want to see Ron Paul with the constitution in his capable hands toe to toe debating Obama with his teleprompter! Ron Paul is the ONLY one who can put freedom back where it belongs in the hands of the LEGAL American citizens!
Ron Paul is a serial violater of the Constitution Article 1 Section 8. He has brought home the pork every year this loser has been in Congress. That’s how Dr. Dementia keeps getting reelected in his district. Get behind him? Yeah you’re right, get behind him and push him off a cliff.
I don’t think we’ll have to worry about you getting behind anyone to push off a cliff Millicent. You and your psychopathic lemming friends are all ready to jump off on your own. Have a nice fall.
Entirely correct.
The “go along to get along” Red Faction have been posing as the advocates of constitutionally limited government under the rule of law and then delivering nothing more that what many commentators have characterized as “Socialism Lite.”
Endlessly Byzantine and horribly costly economic regulations which protect only the privileged market actors who have gone along with the perpetual “pay-to-play” system.
“We don’t screw the consumers!” protest the Republicans. “We just hold ‘em down so our campaign contributors can screw ‘em.”
And need we mention the USA PATRIOT Act? I tend to think of it as Dubbya’s way of setting the precedent for Nancy Pelosi’s “You’ve got to pass it to read it!” Obamacare abomination.
The grumble of dissatisfaction with the “bipartisan” strategies of the Republican establishment were manifest in Dr. Paul’s 2007/2008 effort, and though our lamestream media sweat and strive to obliterate acknowledgement of the fact, it was Dr. Paul more than anyone else who kindled the Tea Party fires that burned Pelosi and her thugs out of power in the U.S. House of Representatives, an overwhelming turnover in that chamber.
Just as the GOP brahmins want to smother completely the Tea Party brushfire that distresses them as much as it does their “Liberal” fascist brethren across the aisle, they hate and fear what Dr. Paul represents, no only the man himself but also the tenacity of the grassroots upon which he stands, the result of his careful, obstinately persistent seeding effort over the course of more than thirty years.
Especially in the age of the Internet, those who have long been ready to hear his powerful common sense have been able to communicate and coordinate as none have ever managed before.
And the establishment Republicans are consumed by the sort of gutwrenching dread that have been going through the kleptocratic capitals of the Arab world since the beginning of 2011.
The voters whom the country club Republicans had counted as nothing but cattle to be driven seem suddenly to have begun behaving like cape buffalo.
I’m not a Texan, but – hell – “Hook ‘em, Horns!”
Glenn Beck debunks the Ron Paul crazy – http://is.gd/n9cSVc
You can’t reason with a Dr. Dementia supporter. Too many hits on the bong. Can you imagine if this early stage Alzheimer’s lunatic? The Kenyan and the DNC would roll on the floor and die laughing. Well, I guess that would be one good thing to come out of it. RP LMAO!
You can’t reason with a psychopath defender either. A brainless nit wit that has less sense then my dog. Millicent, you aren’t even fit to lick the ground Ron Paul walks on.
Ain’t it interesting? The people who speak out against Dr. Ron Paul never seem to give anything remotely resembling a genuine, lucidly articulated, logically supported REASON for their odium.
They just seem to assume that anyone who has examined Dr. Paul’s positions and find them both sensible and lawful are “crazy” or under the influence of psychoactive chemicals. Tsk. Of course, they’ve got nothing else they CAN say, because a detailed examination of Dr. Paul’s policies – especially compared against the endless “status quo” blatherings of the Republican establishment’s anointed choice – prove that Ron Paul is voicing the concerns of both the Red Faction’s constituent base AND the millions of disgusted independent voters which the Republican Party MUST have if they’re to defeat that Fraudulence-in-Chief currently infesting the White House.
The single nominally Republican candidate the overwhelmingly “Liberal” lamestream media want at the top of the GOP ticket in November is Mitt “the RINO” Romney. No question about that, right?
Now, the leftie-luser lamestream media all want their beloved Mombasa Messiah re-elected. They also want Dr. Paul out of consideration for the nomination, and have consistently done everything they can to prevent their readers and viewers from hearing anything about him. Anybody not clear on that yet?
Okay, so why the heck are so many of these people frothing and squealing and sputtering out their hatred of Dr. Ron Paul so desirous of doing precisely what the enemies of the Republican Party want them to do?
Anybody want to bet that “Winghunter” and “Millicent” are Odumbo-sucking “Liberal” types desperate to keep their Hubshi Halfling squatting on that Presidential toilet just off the Oval Officer after January 20, 2013?

I liked especially the one Where RP and the Left are Joined at the Heart. I didn’t appreciate his comparing Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul as both being arrogant. I disagree with that part. I think Gingrich would make a great President. However, it looks like the RNC wants Left Leaning Romney.
Too bad so many NORMAL people disagree with you “winghunter” is that like the wings of flies? That you pick off and watch them die? People like you are a disgrace to the human race.
Paul’s army may be cohesive, noisy and together, but they just don’t have the numbers. There aren’t enough wack jobs available to spread his BS and win elections. People are getting wise to his non-conservative ideas that border more on socialism than Americanism.
He’ll get a share of attention as he always does, but they’ll go nowhere except back to their looney bins.
Wow when the dumbed downed masses start calling Constitutional freedom socialism…pack your bags and head to another country…..this one is over. I guess it will take you being arrested for speaking your mind, perpetual unemployment lines, Police state grid, no borders for you to snap out of your trance. Oh…I forgot that is almost the way it is….and you are still not awake.
Ron Paul is the only choice if you care about the next generation having a free America to live in.
I’m thinking if Dr. Paul runs indy he could pull votes from the repubs, sure, but he is the only one up their on the right that would pull heavy from the left side of the isle as well. Imagine him taking enough from both sides to take it all. I know, I know, but could you just imagine America becoming America again! I don’t know why everyone thinks he’d only pull from the right – there is a sort of half-assed truth to what Dick Morris said about him being the most liberal. What he left out was ‘in a good way’. He’s a dangerous man to both parties . . . and they know it. States Rights is the answer and he knows it.
I’m not even going to read any of the other comments because I fear there are dissidents among them.
All these so called Republicans who are concerned about free foot balltickets and all the high dollar perks they have been getting had better suck it up as the free lunches are about to become a thing of the past just as our economy has become lost in fantasy land! If any of you are truly concerned about anything, try being concerned about those you are supposed to be working for….we the people! Ron Paul is not the corrupt greedy type as so many of you are. He is so very selfless instead of being selfish as most of the others are! He wants to get us out of this strangulation hold in which Obama has placed us. The only way to do this is to STOP all the big spending on fancy trips and vacations paid for with taxpayer dollars. The gravy train is going to be dismantled, melted down and used in much more constructive manner. Many need to think about looking for a career elsewhere. Dr Paul as President Paul will be ending many posh jobs in Washington D C. He will be a totally different president than any of us have ever seen before. He will not lie to us; he will not promise us we will have our mortgages forgiven or any other irresponsible tidbits. Get ready for true reality! Ron Paul is our only hope for “tomorrow”. All the cry babies can run home to their ‘mommas’!
Yes, Millicent and Winghunter are going to have to get real jobs instead of being glorified welfare recipients.
I think they are underestimating the original tea party- remember the one before the “so called” conservatives infiltrated- We are all still out here and watching diligently, vetting candidates as we go. Don’t ever underestimate the power of freedom, peace and prosperity- young and old alike- you may not hear us everyday, but make NO mistake- we will vote like 2010 again and again and again- as often as it takes. Anyone who has gotten away from the main stream media knows how we are being manipulated by both sides- truth has been distorted and is almost unrecognizable through all the garbage. The control freaks have gone too far and there will be no turning back now. If Ron Paul gets screwed like in 2008, Gary Johnson is waiting in the wings. We will have our say one way or the other.
You are a fool. The TP by and large does not support Dr. Dementia.
And those who support the stated ideals of the Tea Party movement find anything to addressing their concerns in the campaigns of any Republican Party candidate OTHER than Dr. Paul?
There is on the “Liberal” fascist left (as well as in the brahmin Republican “establishment”) a profound hatred of the Tea Party and everything that movement stands for, and thus a continuing lying effort to mischaracterize the uprising that so radically changed the outcomes of the 2010 elections and gave the Red Faction an entirely unexpected majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.
It certainly wasn’t the country club “go along to get along” business-as-usual crap peddled by the Republican establishment that kicked Nancy Pelosi out of power, was it?
The one thing upon which both the “Liberal” fascists and the GOP establishment have always been agreed is that the people of this nation CANNOT be allowed to control their government at any level.
And thus all this wonderfully “bipartisan” venom and vitriol over the candidacy of Dr. Ron Paul.
Finally an article that’s not meant marginalize Ron Paul. You’re d@#$ right Floyd, the establishment is afraid of him because he is honest! I pray for the man’s safety each and every day, because the elites would do ANYTHING to keep their power, money, and influence! That’s not conspiracy theory either. It’s just the fallen nature of mankind. My entire family, and a few friends have decided to support Ron Paul’s candidacy in any way we can. We have all come to the realization that the reason the media, the republican establishment, the elites, etc… mischaracterize him as the crazy old uncle in the basement is because they’re afraid of him. That was the tip off as to which candidate might actually bring our country back from the brink of disaster.
Most people are afraid of him. He is a Progressive/Leftist and you are drinking his fraud in like a true sucker. I wouldn’t vote for him to clean my toilets. You must be taking too many hits on the bong. Ron Paul aka Dr. Dementia.
im a ron paul supporter and proud of it!
here’s the bottom line for me…..
would you all prefer another 4 years of government crime and corruption, money and power-grabbing, dishonest CRIMINAL government, OR, would you be willing to take a chance on one of the few HONEST politicians we have left, who wants to restore our liberties and freedom, and make our country great once again.
sounds like a no-brainer to me……
ron paul, 2012!!!!
I’m amazed at the vitriol directed at Ron Paul and those that enthusiastically support his efforts to gain the Republican nomination. This vile blasphemy of Constitutional principles which Paul has unwaveringly supported throughout his career exposes his accusers as supporters of unlimited government control of the lives and fortunes of free Americans. Ron Paul symbolizes the renaissance of American liberties to tens of thousands of young Americans much as the great Barry Goldwater motivated the young people of my generation. Should the republican establishment destroy and cast out Ron Paul and his movement it will condemn itself to oblivion and along with it the future of the American Republic. Should the elitist bankster endorsed Romney secure the nomination, or even should the faux conservative Santoram prevail, there will be a Third party and the objective of that party will not to be a spoiler but to achieve victory and bury the elitist Republican establishment in an avalanche of voters who have gone so far but no further with the tyranny of the two party elitists.
Now for my thoughts on this article….Great article but one thing I can add. Ron Pauls army is the only thing standing between the people of America and Tyranny. So if we are defeated America is history.

Nobody is going to convince Millicent of anything! Her big mouth tries to drown out any facts or any thoughts other than hers. Just yell LOUDER Millicent, and just be as nasty as you can only be!
What is it about Ron Paul that inspires such extremes? Such maddening support on the one hand, and such fear and loathing on the other? I can give the answer in one word: Soul.
The essential soul of a human being is by definition free. The idea that men are free as determined by God is a concept that is foreign to most men. This is because most men want to control others, to take away their freedom. This is usually referred to as the drive for power. The drive for power is antithetical to freedom because power means the ability to control others. There is only one legitimate thing that power can and should be used for, whether it be military, legislative, or executive power. That is, to legalize freedom.
Ron Paul doesn’t want to be President to “give” me freedom. He doesn’t own my freedom and he didn’t give it to me. The only reason Ron Paul wants to be President is to stop punishing people for using their freedom that is rightfully theirs. He wants no power. This is clear to anyone who listens to him speak.
There are two kinds of human beings. Those who want power, and those who want freedom. You can tell which one’s which very easily. Those who want freedom are straight-edged. They are consistent, principled, and you can feel their human soul when they speak to you. There’s a continuum out there of human souls somewhere in spiritual cyberspace, and when you come into contact with one of these souls, you know immediately, because souls are by definition free. You sense sincerity, realness, consistency, a free human being. If you’re a man who seeks freedom and you come into contact with a real human soul, you become instantly addicted and you swallow up anything you can get your hands on. You want to unite immediately, no matter what you disagree on. There are people in the freedom movement that don’t exactly like Israel, especially me being a “settler” and I don’t care. If they want freedom, I sense it and my human drive for individualism suddenly turns into an intense desire to unite into a collective – but a collective of free individuals. It’s a beautiful dialectic, and it doesn’t matter what we agree or disagree on, as long as we agree on freedom.
You get hooked on Ron Paul and you desperately seek more and more, any video you can find from the past, any speeches you missed, anything he said that you haven’t heard yet, even though you’ve heard it a thousand times already in different words. You can’t help yourself. The voracious hunger to be able to use your God-given freedom takes you over entirely. It’s like you suddenly realize you’re human and the Divine Image with which God created you comes alive and catches fire.
But something else happens to you. Once you get hooked on Ron Paul, you can no longer bear to listen to a man who wants power, and you become instantly disgusted when they start saying words. Before, they were just boring. Now they’re revolting. Listening to Romney or Gingrich or Bush or Obama makes you sick and you don’t know how Ron Paul gets through those debates without getting nauseous. You see a political veneer in these politicians that’s so transparent it’s like a ghost flapping its ethereal tongue at you. You can’t bear it.
What’s so maddening about hearing Romney or Gingrich talk is that there’s someone standing there saying things, but there’s no soul in it. These are not free men. These are power men. Not that Romney or Gingrich don’t have souls. They do. They are men just like you and I. But they have practically forfeited their souls to try and attain power, to control others with spin and talking points and contradictory statements like “I want to cut the budget and expand the military!” and they’ll say it with a polished tone and a straight face, just like a soulless recording. Their humanity is so buried under the mountain of lies they have told themselves, that neither they themselves nor you can even sense their souls in the human continuum. The scene of a human body speaking but no soul communicating can drive a free man mad.

Courageous Lion – eloquent post. So true !
A beautifully crafted piece here….thanks for your thoughts…I will share this with others.
Further evidence that what we are stuck with in Washington DC are two branches of the Big Government Party. But the Democrat branch is so brazenly beholden to increasing the size and scope of government while the Republican branch is always giving lip service to smaller government, it would only make sense for the Republican branch to accept among its membership someone who is more dedicated than just mumbling words about shrinking the size of government. But their inner sanctum is clogged with the same type of people that block up the Democrat branch; they all play politics to the hilt (Economics is who gets what; politics is who DECIDES who gets what). Maybe the Libertarian wing will bring Boobus politicus back to sanity.
Why is it so hard for people to see reality? If they would just read the Founders and their writings and the Constitution they could see what the “Powers that Be” have done. They divided the Parties’ Ideology, some to the Right and some to the Left, guaranteeing disagreement until the end of time. Ron Paul does nothing but stand on the Constitution. This is why the Left agrees with his Foreign Policy and Drug Law position; and why the Right agrees with his small government and Fiscal policies. Brilliant manuever by those who would keep us divided.
“Numb-nuts” & “notworthacent” seem to have nothing intelligent to offer in this conversation as demostrated by their constant use of the name-calling, schoolyard tactic. Dr. Paul attended the finest schools for economics in Austria (along with classmate Alan Greenspan) so I would think he probably knows more with regard to the economic situation America has gotten itself into, and therefore has a better idea as to what has to be done to get us out of it than the puppets put on display before us for our humble consideration, but hey, let’s worry about a freakin’ newletter or some other nonsense! Let’s waste our time on non-issues rather than the real issues that continue to destroy this country. Time to get a grip on reality boys and girls. We are leaving our grandchildren a mess so great that I’m sure they’ll want to make regular visits to our graves just to spit on them!
Great observation Floyd and Mary Beth- Ron Paul’s “army” will not easily be broken and this fact will have a major impact on this election. This post is much appreciated and needed to be disseminated, but keep your pencils handy… You’ve got a follow up article to write to make American conservatives aware that there will be two categories of response to this information. Even Obama understands that the Ron Paul army’s resolve is uncompromising. That’s not the story (although I appreciate you making your readership aware). The real story will be to present and watch which of the two resulting philosophical camps various ‘conservative’ pundits, or groups divide into via their endorsements as a result of this increasingly obvious fact.
I’ll call the predominant narrative already being trumpeted among GOP elite and media alike camp FEMA. This approach requires much more effort, coordination and expenditure. It relies heavily upon the media and fast action. As a result, it also carries with it much more risk prior to the general election. It must achieve critical mass before the other camp, camp Paul, which is already in motion and continues to show signs of slower but steady growth. Those in camp FEMA decide they must find and anoint a Non-Romney (and, Shhhhsh, Non-Paul) candidate as quickly as possible so that the groggy electorate will quit searching (ie; learning) and will get in line with an establishment puppet before discovering the Message of Liberty that Ron Paul happens to advocate. Proper vetting isn’t as important as commitment to war machine for camp FEMA’s candidate of choice. If needed, based upon Ron Paul’s presumed delegate counts, as a last ditch effort they’ll be able to pressure Romney to take one for the team and endorse said anointed candidate to minimize the split to simply Ron Paul (also serving to galvanize the moment and set Romney up for future elections). This will again theoretically position the globalists for a win-win election (Obama vs new Anointed GOP candidate) but with the added bonuses of (1) salvaging the fading narrative that there is in fact a legitimate use for and contrast between both major parties and also (2) creating a useful potential president with much political capital to pay back. If Obama wins, then the GOP and media will forever be able to condemn RP as infamously to blame. They need something to peg on him.
Camp Paul: “Join the Revolution to Restore America.” People who join this camp discover and begin to proclaim with the others already there that the answer to both beat Obama and actually reverse America’s demise is a peaceful revolution already taking place under their noses. People who dare to consider the Message of Liberty understand that Ron Paul is not only distinct from Obama, but from the new/ corrupted Republican Party as well (represented in varying but equally damning degrees by each of the other remaining candidates). They ignore camp FEMA’s messaging via the media and simply watch how the Message of Liberty- not Ron Paul’s personality or party affiliation- is actually unifying free-thinking Americans (R’s, D’s and I’s) during a time when our Great Divider in Chief is quite effectively slicing and dicing our populous in Saul Alinski style for preparation of further NWO implementation. Those in camp Paul have come to realize that Paul is the only one among ALL others offering an alternative to eventual submission to NWO through currency collapse… which is ultimately why his ‘army’ won’t be easily broken.
A vote for Ron Paul, representing the only standing option for those in Camp Paul, simply means much more to them than the votes of other candidates’ supporters willing to switch horses. If the others are truly willing to switch allegiance to beat Obama but Paul’s aren’t (because that act would be the same to them as an Obama win) then shouldn’t the others back Ron Paul??
To those conservatives feeling intuitively drawn to camp FEMA: I know how it feels. I was once where you are. I suggest watching the old but fantastic documentary called Money Masters in its entirety (available for free on the internet). Then read Ron Paul’s book, End The FED. This will propel your understanding of the currency crisis we face along with its degree of importance relative to all other issues. But perhaps most importantly it will potentially give you a healthy dose of Cognitive Dissonance like me (see definition below), which in my case enabled and inspired me to ‘pull back the curtain’ as C.Davis points out above. Interestingly, this search lead me to discover that the ‘other’ candidates are simply the various faces that the ones behind the curtain are puppeting as legitimate options/ means to their ends. See you at Camp Paul?
COGNITIVE DISSONANCE (taken from conservative Bob Livingston post)
How our minds are conditioned and controlled: If a person believes a “fact” long enough, he or she cannot ponder or contemplate information or a question that challenges the fact. The mind simply cannot process information that conflicts with previously accepted data. Prior conditioning is difficult to challenge.
The same is true if we believe a lie long enough. We cannot ponder or contemplate information that challenges the lie, even if the lie is lethal, such as “fluoride prevents cavities.”
Psychologists call this quirk of human nature cognitive dissonance. It means the rejection of information not in harmony with previous beliefs. Even when pointed out to people, they refuse to see it.
Confusion is achieved when propaganda injects two opposing thoughts at the same time. The elites use it to great advantage.
I hope, for the sake of that young man in the picture, that he is not Active Duty or even Reserve Military. Because it is against the Uniform Code of Military Justice (which is the regulations military personnel agreed to obey on entry – for you non-military types) to promote political candidates in uniform. We can do this kind of thing in civilian clothing, but not in uniform. Assuming he is Active Duty / Reserve, if this young man’s parent command gets hold of this picture, feces will hit the bladed cooling appliance and his Commanding Officer will be talking to him about his paycheck and future career plans, translation he will get demoted and loss of pay, with separation from military service the severest penalty.
