Rep. Ron Paul, whose maverick presidential bids shook the GOP, said in the wake of this week’s elections that the country has already veered over the fiscal cliff and he sees no chance of righting ship in a country where too many people are dependent on government.
“We’re so far gone. We’re over the cliff,” the Texas Republican told Bloomberg Television’s “In the Loop” program. “We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next 5-10 years who will do wise things.” The video can be seen at http://www.bloomberg.com/video/ron-paul-on-fiscal-cliff-and-vows-to-compromise-MYkAiqYBTaiHwXZL9Tvxkw.html.
“The people in the Midwest voted against him: ‘Oh, we have to be taken care of!’ So that vote was sort of like what we are laughing at in Greece,” Mr. Paul said.
“People do not want anything cut,” he said. “They want all the bailouts to come. They want the Fed to keep printing the money. And they don’t believe that we’ve gone off the cliff or are close to going off the cliff. They think we can patch it over, that we can somehow come up with some magic solution. But you can’t have a budgetary solution if you don’t change what the role of government should be. As long as you think we have to police the world and run this welfare state, all we are going to argue about is who will get the loot.”

Ron Paul would be absolutely right, if Obama won in a fair election, hover I contend that with all of the fraud going on throughout the country, I am convinced that the election was won due to “Chicago Style” politics, “the fix was in” long before it ended.

Ron Paul was the only candidate that would restore USA from the grip of liberalism. He is by NO means stupid! You, viking, are too ignorant and stupid to know this! Romney wasn’t worth endorsing! He is a RINO! Nothing has changed in Obama’s term from Bush’s term. The same agenda is being propagated. Romney would just be the Pres doing the same crap! It don’t matter who is pres, Bush#1, Clinton, Bush#2, Obama, Romney… they are all doing the work of who is behind them.
There is a solution! The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government’s neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

I am shocked at your petition request. Anyone who petitions the unconstitutional fraudulent usurper and the treasonous administration for permission to ‘withdraw from the union’ (by the way, that is called ‘secession’ – ‘to secede’ from a political body) will never be free. It is the true citizens of the United States who are the sovereigns of this country. Besides, what criminal thug or dictator ever lets someone voluntarily leave his control?
Each State also has sovereign authority as regards the federal government. If we have any chance left to live as individually free people with government by OUR consent, we must get the States to exercise (not ask or demand) their sovereign authority. If that means replacing our State elected officials, then we better get busy. We have two years to find responsible citizens of character and integrity who will stand up for America.
And, WE need to exercise our own character and integrity. We can no longer be cheering or jeering from the sidelines. WE must be active participants in restoring the constitutional Rule of Law and government by OUR consent.
