Roger Ailes Lets Rip

In the media world, as in politics, having a high-profile target can be a very good thing.

The age of Obama has provided a ratings boost for Fox News as its loudest personalities have relished the opportunity to play offense. Critics, of course, view Fox as an unabashed cheerleader for the Republican Party, an evil media empire spewing propaganda and misinformation at a gullible audience.

But Roger Ailes says his network is just reflecting reality when it comes to the White House.

“The president has not been very successful,” the Fox News chairman says in a lengthy interview. “He just got kicked from Mumbai to South Korea, and he came home and attacked

Republicans for it. He had to be told by the French and the Germans that his socialism was too far left for them to deal with.”

The 70-year-old Ailes, dressed in a lavender shirt and tie, goes on in this vein, saying the network isn’t singling out Obama for criticism but that its style “tends to be more direct” in challenging presidents. Then he offers this observation about Obama:

“He just has a different belief system than most Americans.”

That seems a rather loaded phrase—different belief system—even if you strongly disagree with most of Obama’s policies. It fits the view of those who are trying to paint the president as being outside the mainstream. But from the big second-floor office at Fox’s Midtown Manhattan headquarters, it’s the rest of the media that are using a distorted lens.

  1. Obama will be lucky to make it to the end of his first term. Even the Democrats are starting to turn on him. You would not know that if you only get your news from the Not So Main Stream Media. “He just has a different belief system than most Americans.” I think this is it in a nut shell my friends. Nuf said.
    Have a good day.

  2. Michael Kauppi says:

Unless the Democrats want to lose even more seats in the House and Senate in the 2012 election than they lost in the 2010 mid-term election, they'll dump Obama and all his policies. America is not a Socialist country, and unless the Democrats learn that, they'll become extinct.

  3. A different belief system is right, and that's putting it mildly! It is a belief that America must completely fall, or be torn down, as he is desperately trying to do, so that he (& his higher-ups-yes, he has them) can make us over in their image…(socialist) It's about time the Dems screwed their heads on straight…though it may be too late. All I know is, I'm praying for this country, because it's the only hope and change that will do us any good!

  4. Victor Barney says:

Watch Glenn Beck because he is giving unbelievable clinically proven information every night this week! Obama, like his father, who made Kenya into another failed Marxist state(the only other Republic created by the way), is out to destroy America the exact same way! CIA, FBI? What a joke, or Obama wouldn't even have become President, as Wilson, etc., etc. It's his being anti-colonial stupid! Not to mention that he is from the tribe of Esau, I'm sure that had the birth rite stolen by Ya'aqob(Jacob) and hates u.s., like his father! Watch! p.s., the Republicans will turn around our economy by February, 2012 and then comes the 2012 elections and all the Marxists will be swept into office at once via the Dream Act and soon will start the 3 1/2 years of Ya'aqob's(Jacob's) trouble. Only 144,000 survive, excluding Dan(Irish) says Revelation, Chapter 11. Watch!

    • Beck is "giving unbelievable clinically proven information"? I suspected he had been institutionalized, or should be, but which "clinic" "proved" his info?

      • I can't believe you are starting this debate with an unvarnished ad hominem given all the credentials you put forth. Well, maybe I can since it is your job to prove he is wrong not anyone elses. Get with the intense debate idea James. You want to argue but you come unprepared so you make it look like you are an authority on sanity then demand everyone else defend the Beck research teams findings. Sly try but once again, that isn't debate.

        • "that isn't debate"

Nor was it intended to be, of course. And as far as I'm concerned, people can look up or defend whatever they want. It's my experience that most fans of this site are unlikely to do much of the former, and likely to do the latter regardless of what they may read.

          • You are making a fine example to follow James. BTW, how many different logins are you using? I see the thunbs down move a lot when you start posting but no new people post.

          • "You are making a fine example to follow"

            Thanks.

"how many different logins are you using?"

Weird question–now I'm starting to suspect you're really Hot Cougar. :-) But how many logins would I need to hit a "thumbs down" for every comment I disagreed with, if I were so inclined?

          • This is the truth—I only use one log-in and sometime I get the old thumbs down. But not as many as you James. After all is this not the purpose of posting here to have constructive discussions on current political matters. I try to stay away from repeating any pundit or talk show host, except if I have done some research and find it has some facts to support it.

          • True, I seem to be the record-setter in "thumbs down." I'd expect–and frankly, hope for–nothing less here. And I agree with you about regurgiitating pundit prattle.

I also admit that sometimes I offer comment just to make folks thinks and/or to tweak those who pretend to be more knowledgeable than they are. After all, if commenting on a site where one is guaranteed to be criticized wasn't fun, I wouldn't bother.

    • I say that Obama is the start of the 3 1/2 years. He is the false prophet.

  5. Kevin Courtright says:

On the rare days when I actually watch the "news", I watch FOX News. However, I do so knowing that FOX is not actually "Fair and Balanced", or merely a network where "We Report, You Decide". I wish they were. They are as much partisan to the right as all of the other networks are partisan to the left. I applaud their very existence as they provide the only balance to the partisanship of the others. I don't know why they don't just admit that. As for Obama, I have no doubt that the man is a Socialist, or even a Marxist. However, the damage he is doing to this country is really no worse than 8 years of Bush. To me, they are both dangerous. (Spoken like a true Constitutionalist.)

  6. Not only does Barack Hussein Obama thinks differently from Most Americans, his comrades also think differently from most Americans-that means the Media, top Democrats, and and liberal judges. When you hide your identity and have your comrades in arms defend your stance, you are looking at anarchy and tyranny exactly what the US is experiencing right now under the Obama administration.

  7. Mr.Ailes is correct that Obama has a different belief system. This stems from both of his fathers' anti-colonialism views that Obama shares.

  8. Roger A is right. If anyone can figure out Obama's belief system he/she should get a medal for being another Einstein. This trip he took just informed the conservative belief that this man doesn't know what he is doing and that is dragging us down here and abroad. Fox is fair and balanced. There are days I disagree with the commentators/journalist more than I agree.

    • FOX is fair and balanced only if you think playing Russian roulette with our constitution is fairness. IMO FOX is just as much to blame for secreting the Obama entity as everyone else who was either ethically charged with exposing it or legally mandated by oath to demand it. I'm not going to let the fact that Beck got one over on him before he could pull his show bury the fact it is Ailes who silenced the eligibility question in concert with the rest of the media and congress. Ailes is just scared and trying to edge his way over to the I'm a real patriot side just to avoid the big finger of guilt that is being manicured and straightened toward the elite power brokers.

  9. A different belief system? Let me count the ways. Forget it. Ailes is just ducking for cover just like the rest of the conspirators who realized you can't fool enough people to get them to volunteer their sovereignty or constitution in exchange for anything. They just got impatient and took a shot at establishing a totalitarian world control and slipped in the best tool they had to try it, a black radical nut without even the qualifications to enter the country today without being investigated as a possible terrorist. The race card got him in,gave the real power cover and will get them out when he gets constitutionally spit out. Or so they think. No Mr Ailes, I don't buy your media being anything but another one of the rich and powerful with one foot on either side of the tyranny/ sovereign people fence. If you were different why didn't you let the people see what you knew all along, who and what Obama is.

  10. Go ahead and ask Jerry. If nobody has a proper answer someone will dig for it, except for a few who will claim even a question should draw ad hominem attacks. Just ignore them and please do ask anything. Answers are what we all want, truthful answers.

  11. Carol Gerber says:

Now Is The Time To Come To The Aid Of The USA, Yikees, The Manchurian Muslim President Has Had His Lunch Served To Him Daily And He Is Still In Denial, Oh Well Let Sarah Palin Kick His As-, Yippee.!

  12. A DIFFERENT BELIEF SYSTEM IS PUTTING IT MILDLY & NICELY. OBAMA IS VERY UNAMERICAN, & IS IN FACT A MUSLIM, WHO IS TRYING TO BRING THIS COUNTRY DOWN. HE WANTS THE UN TO DICTATE TO US & TAKE ALL OF THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE IN THE USA, AWAY FROM THEM. AND OF COURSE, HE HAS THE HELP OF REID & PELOSI BACKING HIS EVERY MOVE. THIS COUNTRY IS IN DEEP TROUBLE, & MORE PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP. THE TRUE AMERICANS, HAVE SPOKEN AT THE POLES, BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY WHO HAVE NOT GOTTEN THE WAKEUP CALL. FOX NEWS REALLY IS MORE FAIR & BALANCED THEN THE OTHER NETWORKS. iT IS NO WONDER THEIR RATINGS ARE SO MUCH BETTER. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

  13. DUH!!!!….. I think this guy (dude) is not from here…… How ssstrrraaange!

  14. When look at the article and picture,I as if know the real! I'm surpised to it. It's so cool! You share so good thing,I should report back to you! Recently,I found one good website when skim over some websites. It'sburberry bag
