If Obama works with the United Nations and NATO against Syria and does not seek authorization from Congress for the use of the U.S. military, he may face impeachment, according to a resolution introduced by Republican Representative Walter B. Jones Jr.
“Expressing the sense of congress that the use of offensive military force by a president without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution,” the resolution states.
Jones introduced his resolution after Obama’s Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey told Senator Jeff Sessions during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing last week that they would seek “international permission” to attack Syria. Congrerss would not be consulted, but merely informed of the decision.
“Our goal would be to seek international permission and we would… come to the Congress and inform you and determine how best to approach this, whether or not we would want to get permission from the Congress – I think those are issues we would have to discuss as we decide what to do here,” Panetta told Sessions.
“Well, I’m almost breathless about that,” the senator from Alabama replied, “because what I heard you say is, ‘We’re going to seek international approval, and then we’ll come and tell the Congress what we might do, and we might seek congressional approval.’ And I just want to say to you that’s a big [deal].”

Impeachment of this Communist jerk is really a waste of time! The Democrats control the Senate and that is where he would be tried. The best thing for this country is to vote him out, then charge him with the crimes he has committed and try him in court.
Good point but the dissemination of the information surrounding the charges may impact some voters who live in a bubble and have no idea what is going on in the real word. Hopefully, learning how he is violating the constitution at every opportunity would give them pause to perhaps not vote for him again, just because it is fashionable.
John, you are incorrect. Impeachment and his trial would be held in the HOUSE where the GOP has a majority and probably support from enough Democrats to find him guilty. Then the SENATE would decide on his punishment. If you recall, Bill Clinton WAS impeached, and the Senate decided NOT to remove him from office, but he was still impeached.

These countries cost Americans Thousands of American Soldier’s Lives, over one-million killed innocent Middle Eastern Civilians, and Obama BORROWING and spending $6 Trillion War Dollars all funneled to the “Saudi Organized Crime Syndicate”.
If this legislation will stop Obama from overthrowing Syria, Iran and Israel, and prevent Saudi Puppet Obama from handing all three countries over to the “Saudi Organized Crime Syndicate” then it’s worth something.
This legislation may save Americans from losing Thousands more American Soldier’s Lives, killing another million innocent Middle Eastern Citizens, and save $Trillions more that Obama is already spending on overthrowing countries, to hand them over to the “Saudi Organized Crime Syndicate.”
The threat of impeachment by Jones is too little, too late. The threat is just that = a threat. One must have the guts to carry out the threat. Impeachment proceedings should have been started long ago.
