An immigration reform activist says a bill recently introduced by a Republican member of Congress is still nothing more than amnesty for illegal aliens.

Florida Congressman David Rivera has introduced the “Studying Towards Residency Status Act,” or STARS, as a Republican alternative to the DREAM Act being pushed by Democrats. He also has introduced the “Adjusted Residency for Military Service,” or ARMS Act, which would allow the children of illegal aliens to obtain permanent residency if they serve in the military.

Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), says Rivera’s legislation is just another attempt by Republicans to pander to Hispanic voters.

  1. Politicians do the things that benefit THEM the most. Party means nothing. Most put on a false front who out number the ones who are for we the people. They do not want to pay the higher wages to US citizen’s to clean their house, landscape their grounds or work in the businesses they have stock in. If they really cared about we the people the US would be in better shape. When it come to lining their pockets there are a lot of politicans who have and will sell out their familyand/or cast aside anyone who stands in their way!
