As reported earlier, the Occupy Wall Street movement’s New Years Eve effort to retake Zuccotti Park was blocked by the NYPD. However, something else reportedly happened when an ambulance tried to take a stabbed police officer to the hospital.
According to the New York Post, at least one officer was injured in the clash with the swarm of protesters. The unidentified member of the NYPD was slashed on the hand with a pair of scissors and required medical treatment. However, the ambulance carrying the officer experienced some difficulty in getting the wounded man to the hospital.
The Post reports:
Hundreds in the crowd of occupiers then surrounded the ambulance as it tried to leave with the wounded officer, the source said.
The ambulance was eventually allowed to take the police officer to Bellevue Hospital where he is said to be in stable condition.
Earlier in the evening a group of 100 NYPD were on hand to deal with the OWS efforts on 12/31, additional police in riot gear were required to clear the park of protesters around 1:30am on January 1st.

I have never been brain dead, so I don’t understand what it is like to be so when the LAW tell’s me to vacate and never come back, I wouldn’t. So, to attempt it, knowing I can’t, well there is no excuse, that make’s OWS an open door for head cracking, if it had to come to that. But, to block the path of an emergency vehicle is just plain wrong, brain dead or not. There should be someone in that pack of dogs that has some kind of common sense that would be smart enough to move a group of dogs out of the way of an emergency service vehicle, so again, brain dead or not, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY.
People of this ilk will do what they are given leave to do. Braindead Duke of Dhimmitude Bloomberg has given,
for reasons no sensible person can fathom, Carte Blanche to a pack of anarchists and couldn’t care less
for the beleagured citizens forced to pay the bill for this mountain of excrement. Sooner or later one of them
will step on his delicate toes and he’ll do something unless his boss tells him to suck it up. New York City
deserves a whole lot better.
I think it is the perfect time of year to turn fire hoses on the OWS crowd. Their Soros funded Van Jones driven propaganda is becoming wearyingly monotonous. The people that I tend to pay attention to are those that actually work and pay taxes. I still think it only fair that the police should register every one of the OWS tools that actually occupy and charge them clean-up costs on a pro-rated basis.
I agree with heasler12175. Put the water to their butts and wash them down the gutter where they need to be.
