It is the parable of the Prodigal Son.

Now, in an endeavor to reconnect people to the story like never before, ProdigalFilm, in conjunction with Uptone Pictures, is setting the parable within a modern-day context, as they prepare to launch the production and release of the new film “A Long Way Off,” featuring Robert Davi (Diehard with Bruce Willis, Goonies, James Bond License to Kill) and Frank Chiesurin (Resident Evil Apocalypse), as well as actors in final discussions that include Danny Trejo (Machete) and actors from The Hunger Games and Courageous (see cast list below).
Filmmaker and Executive Producer Jerry McGlothlin summarizes the theme of “A Long Way Off,” which is currently in pre-production, stating, “In this 2,000-year-old remake, so to speak, college grad, Jacob, is ready to shake off his father’s religious business ethics and strike out into the world, poised to conquer it his own way. Surprised that his father actually obliges his request for an early inheritance, Jacob, indeed, sets out for his own idea of fortune and proceeds to spend millions of dollars living the high life—only to find it come crashing down, leading to reconciliation with both his earthly and heavenly fathers.
Faith films have been the most profitable and fastest growing niche market of films. A Long Way Off has the high likelihood of continuing that trend.
