Last week, I entered Walter Reed Army Hospital to notify the Department of Defense that I would refuse to obey any orders from my commanding officers — including President Obama — until the president produces his original birth certificate. After nearly eighteen years of wearing the military uniform of the country I have proudly served, including overseas assignments in imminent danger/combat areas in Bosnia and Afghanistan, I felt compelled to take this step.
I made this decision from much deliberation, after lengthy consultations with many friends, family members, and colleagues, and I firmly believe that all servicemen and women, and the American public, have the right to know the truth about President Obama’s constitutional eligibility to serve as Commander-in-Chief.
As military officers, we all take a solemn oath upon commissioning into the Uniformed Services. In this oath, we swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Upholding the law is an essential part of our role as citizens; in the military, we are the ultimate protectors of that law. The Constitution is our social compact, which safeguards all of us and ensures the “equal rights” that we are entitled to as American citizens.
Since Nuremberg, My Lai, and even Abu Ghraib more recently, the military has been taught the hard lessons of following illegal orders. Any reasonable person looking critically at the information and evidence currently in the public domain about Obama’s birthplace would have questions about President Obama’s claim to be a natural born citizen. I made the decision to disobey all military orders, including my deployment order to Afghanistan, in pursuit of the truth of whether President Obama can legally occupy the high post that he holds today and which entitles him to send servicemembers into harm’s way.
The United States serves an example to the rest of the world of a stable, civilized, democratic government, where all men are equal under the law and the rule of law is cherished and obeyed. The U.S. military teaches and promotes the rule of law and civilian control of the military to many other nations and military forces around the world. Every soldier learns what constitutes a lawful order and is encouraged to stand up and object to unlawful orders. This is called the “duty to disobey.”

Certificate immediaely or step down. We all provided ours many time in my over twenty years and we had no hold backs like Obama that I can remember, I'm 73 years old.
Dr. Lakin is right, his duty is to disobey as it is the duty of countless judges , military officers, civil servants and more who have taken the oath to uphold the Constitution. Since Obama's father was a British subject/citizen at the time of BHO's birth, we know he is not natural born and, therefore, has no business being in the White House wherever his place of birth may be. I surely admire your courage, Sir, and I hope this will encourage others to follow your example.
This is a man that is due honor by doing what he believes in. I have never been in military or anything but I have had to show and prove that I was A U.S citizen which I was proud to do.
I enlisted in the USAF in 1955. After basic training I was selected to attend a tech school which required a secret clearance. An extensive background check was required before I was approved for the school. Barack Obama, with his background could not pass the same background check. Now he is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Something is very wrong with this picture. Never in the history of this country has a person been elected president that we know so little about and who has not proven, without a doubt, that he is eligible to be president. He is a Chicago crook who was able to deceive over half of the people of this country. God help us!!!!
I agree wit you Mr. usfrog…..Obama has set himself above all of us who have taken that same oath the defend the Consitiution of this United States, as I and many millions of others have over the years.
I also agree he has no right in the White House giving orders since he is obviously not even qualified to run for President. There must be some conspiracy story to be told here. Who else knew?
I would like to see conviction after trial, and prison time for those who contrived to circumvent the wonderful Constitution we have and may be close to losing.

I did reply you keep rejecting my reply. I said we should be proud of Dr Lakin because he is willing to stand up for what he believes in. I have never been in the military or anything of that nature but there have been many times when I have needed to show my birth certifitice of which I was PROUD to do.
Right on Lt. Col. Lakin – although my husband, a retired AF officer, disagrees with me. We BOTH agree, however, that Hussein Obama is a liar, a fake, and a danger to our country. We fear for the United States of America. While I agree with Lt. Col Lakin and my husband does not, we are both sad he is putting a great career in the military on the line for an idiot like Obama who doesn't care anything about our Christian nation. He wants America to become a Socialist, Muslim country as the United Kingdom is quickly becoming today.
I stand with your decision Dr. Larkin. He has no business giving orders to anyone without positive, confirmed proof that he is a natural born citizen. I do not believe that he is. It is so simple. Just produce the documents that you are spending millions to hide Mr. Obama. Unless of course, you are a liar and I might add you have left little evidence that you are not. First, I would like to wish Dr. Lakin fair winds, and following seas. I communicate with 58 people in my address book almost daily, and I can truthfully say that I've never seen so many very angry Americans because of Obama and his almost daily very un-American decisions. I feel that a REAL AMERICAN would NEVER make the decisions that he (Obama) has made, nor would they feel as if they have to apologize to foreign countries as Obama has done. It makes me really wonder if some foreign country(s) are the ones making his ridiculous decisons on his behalf. Personally, I feel he is an extremely dangerous President.

Perhaps what is needed is a Court Ordered Injunction against any further signing/passage of bills (and elimination of the legality and enforceability of any thus far signed) until such eligibility is proven beyond a reasonable doubt and beyond the possibility of forgery. That injunction, if obtained, may save our nation.

I agree and I admire you for standing up for the truth……IF he (obama) has nothing to hide , then produce the birth certificate and end the questioning, we have a right to know.
I wonder why he is so afraid to just turn it over and put the rumors to rest. The more he resists the more guilty he appears. Obama and the Dems who are his puppets seem to just put anyone down who asks a very simple request…."Show us the real original birth certificate!" We don't hesitate when it is required of us, the citizens of the United States, who is he to not be held to the same standards?

We can write and send all kinds of notes about this –but it seems that the one who should be doing something about it will not take the correct and proper (liegal) action–Where are our Constitutional judges IE. the Supreme Court Judges on this???

You are absolutely correct and doing exactly what every military man, woman, and reservist should be doing. Obama is most likely an illegal alien of British citizenship. He – or his protectors – have spent far too much money protecting Obama, the Mulatto, and the record needs to be set straight with Obama and all others that aided in the deception put out of office and forbidden to hold any office in the future.
In this vast nation blessed with so many privileges and opportunities, only a very few have had the courage to speak out publicly about the questionable situation that we find ourselves in. We certainly have elected Socialists, to our shame. Is there more than merely Leftist agenda here? What other country pursues policy that is detrimental to that countrys well-being? What would you call the leaders of such a country?
Colonel Lakin suspects Obama is invalid. We all do. Colonel Lafin has the courage to put his whole life and future on the line for the sake of his country and its Constitution. We all need to stand up and support this outstanding human being. Flood your legislators offices with messages of protest about this whole rotten mess, including Media cover-up and judicial inaction. I can not imagine a debate justifying the outright violation of the constitution combined with the open statements made by many lawmakers in the face of overwelming public displeasure defending those acts as intent by the founders or as securing the peoples rights from governmental abuse. In fact it is apparent the government has not produced any evidence they ought to be trusted at all. The most important thing we are entitled to is the knowlege of who our leaders are and their innermost secrets. That is the intent of the qualifications and the oath. Should one lie or use deception to gain a position of trust it is the gravest violation of trust and the greatest danger we can face.
Indeed, the law must apply to this man as it is not a rule to punish but to ensure our nations security. Compounding this unlawful seating is the complete absence of loyalty to the constitution by congress and the courts. It is a disgrace to see such open contempt for the law, our law, when something so obvious as this is put upon us as if it were the right of government to decide what it will abide by, when and how. If this isn't tyranny what is?
Many wise words were issued to us by the founders concerning the dangers of all manner of encroachments and usurpations a government or some part of it may make and never did they advise us to stand for utter disregard for the law. In fact there are many passages advising the opposite and they range from "nip it in the bud" to terms if I should repeat without quotation marking would place me on a "watch list" as a domestic terrorist . There is no question that any American citizen would be able to provide a Birth Certificate. The mere fact that, not only is his Birth Cerificate not available, but none of his records. Can you think of any other instance of a person that has been a part of our Government that has failed to provide a Birth Certificate? Neither can I. Avoidance of this request by Col. Lakin, and the request by numberous American citizens, should not be allowed. The Constitution required a Naturalized Citizen and therefore proof of such citizenship. I admire, support , appreciate and am humbled by the bravery of this Officer.

What do the citizens of the U.S. have to do. What he's done is criminal to say the least. Doesn't anyone have the guts to take the action needed to bring this to a halt. This man is ruining our country with his criminal acts, and it must stop. I'm 71 yoa. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever see the day our country would be in this position. I worked all my life, as most of you have. I wanted my children and grand children to have a better place to live, now my g/g/children…but things are only getting worse. I thought when Kennedy was killed it was the worst thing I had ever heard or seen, but it was nothing to what's happening today, and every democrat in the country is supporting him, and they know he's wrong. What is so scary is that the MSM ridiculed all attempts to get the truth,a number of courts rejected numerous attempts to determine the truth since BEFORE the election. Now the 3rd circuit will hear one case. Pelosi is being sued to determine what info she used to determine his status since she certified him. The sad truth is both Democrats and some Republicans covered this up. Impeachment is not the charge. It is a charge of treason for using deceit, concealment and fraud to gain access to the highest office.
It is sad how the OATH Of OFFICE has become passee and that very few citizens in government service have the guts to honor the basic commitment to their OATH.
This is an extremely important Constitutional issue–when I say Constitutional, I mean, what the U. S. Constitution states unequivacally–why was not this birth question decided during the Democratic campaign when the choice of candiate for U. S. President was made. I never remember the issue being introduced by anyone on either side – neither on the Republican Party side nor on the Democratic Party side by all of the politicians on either side. As a responsible American citizen, I feel that both parties have let the American public down by not clearing the Constitutional birth issue up long before now. What is clear to me is that Americans need to get back to a better knowledge of our Constitution. I certainly share the doctor's frustration and his right to get this birth information correct as a prerequisite to performing his duties as a member of the U.S. Military.

As a Korean Veteran, I have utmost respect for this officer and his beliefs. Someone has to stand up to this jerk of a president. When his wife readily admits his Kenyan Birthplace and other media has verified facts of the same, what more do people need> More lies, passing the buck, more Czars.. Wake up people, that includes all Bush Bashers, Dems and others who can legally vote.This officer is putting his career, family and life on line for us. Why is it that they made McCain give his original birth certificate-seal and all before they
totally vetted him. They said that because he was born in Panama they needed to see his
papers. By the way without a second's thought of course he produced a b.c.which by the
way he didn't have to. His Dad was in the mililtary and of course he was a citizen as well
as his son. Why then didn't this same rule apply to Obama-oh right,I forgot, rules don't apply
to this President.
I applaud you Dr. Lakin for your stand and bravery. And you are spot on to question this man's eligibility to put lives at risk, or make decisions affecting all Americans. I have done research on this man for 2 years and everything I have found points to him being a liar, being anti-American, being in cahoots with vast others who wish to destroy America, and being born in Kenya. Further, I tracked down a missinary couple from the US living in Kenya for several years – we communicatd by email and he told me it was generally believed and accepted around the country tha Obama was born in Kenya; and he then cautioned me to be very careful who I ask and where, since it was very 'dangerous' to go up against Obama. Keep up the effort – WE THE PEOPLE have every right to know the truth finally. MANY lawsuits have attempted to get the truth, but Obama has a team of attys battling (since 2008), and so far no judge has had the guts to go up against the Obama thugocracy, siting lack of position to bring a case – well sir, YOU have such a position, asdo all the military.
