President Obama signed an executive order Friday establishing a high-level task force charged with coordinating federal oversight of domestic natural-gas development.
The task force is charged with ensuring that rapidly growing efforts to tap vast natural-gas supplies in the country’s shale formations, which require advanced drilling techniques including “fracking,” are “safe and responsible.”
The order seeks to find a balance between encouraging expanded domestic natural-gas development, a position Obama has touted in a series of speeches in recent months, and ensuring that the administration protects the public.

In other words, this fossil fuel is becoming way too abundant, and inexpensive.
In other words, stop fracking, and not let us use our own natural resources. Notice it was with another executive order, not through congress? This man, Obma, sticks out more nd more as a traitor to all Anericans, and our country. Where oh whre is the Republican leadership in all this stuff? Scared to deah and under thir beds? Or what. They are just lltting ll these things happen.
B.O. say’s “thou shall not use hydraulic fracturing”, and then say, “it is done.” We know that that is ultimately what is coming anyway. This turkey hates the fact that we have enough natural resources to be completely free of foreign energy resources for 200 years. That is just the resources that we know about right now.
I honestly don’t think this order was created to stop fracking, it seems more like it is just putting the federal government in control of what they’re doing. If you go through and read the executive order Obama says:
“Its production creates jobs and provides economic benefits to the entire domestic production supply chain, as well as to chemical and other manufacturers, who benefit from lower feedstock and energy costs. By helping to power our transportation system, greater use of natural gas can also reduce our dependence on oil. And with appropriate safeguards, natural gas can provide a cleaner source of energy than other fossil fuels.”
It seems to me that the federal government just wants more control over fracking because of the public’s negative response to it. Now the government can say “it’s safe because we’re controlling it.” If you actually look into the shale resources available, they recently realized that they “overestimated” and they now say we have almost half as much as originally guessed at.
The government is strongly pushing and supporting natural gas fueled, they can’t keep promoting that if they aren’t able to provide cheap fuel for it for at least a little while.
