A new poll shows businessman Herman Cain closing the gap with GOP rival Mitt Romney in Iowa thanks to his strong support among Tea Party voters.
The new NBC News/Marist poll shows Romney with just a three-point lead in Iowa. The former Massachusetts governor won the support of 23 percent of likely GOP caucus-goers, with Cain in second place with 20 percent.
Cain’s strong showing in the poll reveals his strength among Tea Party supporters, where he bests Romney 31 percent to 15. Among likely caucus attendees who say they “strongly” support the Tea Party movement, Cain tops Romney 41 percent to 7.
Rep. Ron Paul (Texas), the winner of Saturday’s Values Voter straw poll, comes in third with 11 percent, followed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.), who are tied at 10 percent.
Two polls released Monday showed Cain, previously considered a long-shot, gaining momentum nationally in the GOP race. A Gallup survey found that 20 percent of Republican voters want Romney to win the nomination, with Cain a close second with 18 percent support.

You know the more I listen to this guy, I like him. Of course I am a anybody but Barry person.
Barry was and is bad for this country and has divided us more than any President since the Civil War. That statement is like what they ran on in 2008. The worse economy since the great depression. I think we have pass that point now with the spending in the last three years. % trillion debt in 3 years, WOW. I still do not care who is in charge after 2012, but I would like to see all 435 members of the House replaced.
Ireuel, I beg to differ with you…it can't be anybody but barry, we need someone who will uphold the Constitution, someone who will really work for smaller government…certainly not Romney or Perry…both are Globalists, big government people!!
I'd prefer Michelle, but would settle for Cain…If Ron Paul wasn't for the destruction of Social Security
I'd really fight for him!! I have paid into it too long to have it thrown out now!!
I agree Eddie, but have already decided that Herman Cain gets my vote as I don't think Michelle has a chance which is a shame because she is good.
Every one of the GOP candidates would throw Social Security into the dustbin of antiquity in a heartbeat. Ron Paul is the only one who would even try to restore LIBERTY and rid this country of the "cause" of our problems, the Federal Reserve. Unless that is accomplished, your SS and Medicare will not be "overhauled," they will be history. We will soon begin to see hyperinflation, and even if they keep sending out SS checks, the monthly check might even buy a loaf of bread, if one buys the cheap stuff.
Are you still doing the Bachman campaign work?
Haven't really heard her name lately.
You probably noticed that I haven't been on as much either lately.
Just needed a little haitus from politics. I did go check out the little stoner crowd protesting
Wall St. last night though and tried toi get a feel if they even knew what they were protesting.
Interesting responses to say the least, man, like groovy cool man!
The spawn of the 60's crowd.
No Gary They never seem to set up here in my State. So I figured she is in it to win it in Iowa only. But lets change the subject and it will quite possibly be here tomorrow. Headline; Wait for it, I think we may need Ellen to come back and help us though this one.
Ex-Indiana Democratic Governor:
Not My Signature on Obama Petition
indiana-gop-calls-for-federal-probe-into-dubious-2008-obama-petition. Are you seeing this the EX Democrat Governor says he did not sign it and Barry should not of even been on the Ballat in 2008 for President. WOW if this is true.
WOW if this is True? then want is my favorite saying.
Barry Lied and People he just plan Lied. Period
We Seniors certainly know how Barry Soetoro feels about us, we haven't received a COLA raise in almost 3 years. Guess good old Barry forgot that we Seniors vote!
Granny, I read an article on military.com that August showed a 0.3% inflation rate, which makes 7 straight months of inflation, and there is a possibility that there will be a 3.4% COLA the end of this year. Obama has proposed changing the way the COLA is calculated, and if he can determine some way to stop it, he will.
Granny, that aint the half of it. Quite a few years ago, most of us hard working people decided that Social Security could well be broke by the time retirement killed our earning ability, so we invested. Most of us resisted living the good life at the time, to save ourselves a future. Guess what! The coming of the Messiah (as some of these fools actually called him) has destroyed the banks and Wall Street investment, and our future. I know the assets we managed to get into savings by 2009 are now about 1/2 of what they were. The value of what is still there is generously worth about 75% of what it should be due to the FEDs playing around. Interest rates on CDs are what, something generally less that 2%? And don't any of you dare to tell me that it was Bush! I was never a fan of Bush's, but that crap is just a lie. This is PURELY, 100% due to Obama the Commie
Just watch .. Soetoro will find a way to take your 401k's too. It has already been suggested that they be confiscated and poured into the bankrupt Social Security system. If they do that, Congress will have it spent in less than a month, and the people will end up with nothing.
Go Michelle!
Cain is far better than what I call "the evil twins:" Romney and Perry.
But Paul is *much* better still!!!
Hear him yourself at:
http://runronpaul.com/mainstream-media/ron-paul-a…
Only problem with Paul, is his weak stance on Illegals. Bachman has the best record on that, but the poor gal doesn't stand a chance so far. I would like to see a Cain & Bachman ticket. It wouldn't surprise me though if Obama dropped out of the race after the first of the year.Even Biden has said some negative things about Obama of late.
Ron Paul is NOT weak on illegal immigration. He favors the fence, abolishing the "anchor baby" nonsense they have falsely gleaned from the 14th Amendment, no in-state tuition for the children of illegals, and NO SOCIAL SERVICES whatsoever for illegals. These unequivocal statements have come direct from his mouth. He is actually the strongest of the candidates on immigration, and you have to be careful of the LIES they tell about him in the MSM. Do your own research. The MSM pets are globalists and open borders guys. Ron Paul is a constitutionalist, he never wavers on his positions, and he is the only candidate who cares about LIBERTY for the people.
I don't want Romney, Herman Cain is my man!
Vote Cain (and if there is still any intelligence around, Newt Gingrich should be VP – he knows how government works, and he has balanced the budget before – despite Clinton's resistance)
I don't want any of them. They have all their own agenda and Bilderberg has chosen Cain or Romney.
What we need is an impeachment, imprisonment and deportation.
Just heard Chris Christie endorsed Romney, ru kidding me? Christie is not the darling conservatives want him to be, a RINO on illegal rights, etc.. Is he doing this to help obarfa get re-elected? the
libs can't wait to sink their teeth into Mitt over Romneycare – he's dead in the water. What the heck is Christie thinking ?- he should have endorsed Cain . Romney is a political has-been..
Herman Cain is the best candidate among the bunch. He has as much business experience as Romney, and the fact that all the rest of the candidates are "professional politicians" make them very unattractable. Herman Cain can beat Obama because he has wisdom, experience, values, and he is not a career politician. Also, he is black which diffuses Obama supporters from playing the race card. Until Herman Cain joined the race, I was of the opinion that Obama had ruined a minority's chances of serving in the WH for the next decade or so.
I SURE HOPE MITT ROMNEY DOES NOT GET THE REPUBLICAN NOMINATION. HE IS JUST ANOTHER LIBERAL REPUBLICAN FROM MASSACHUTES. PUT FORTH A HEALTH CARE BILL IN THAT STATE THAT WAS A COSTLY FAILURE AND ANTI GUN. I HOPE NEWT OR CAIN OR BACHMANN GETS THE NOMINATION.
